[00:00:15] Hi, I'm Kirsten. I am Sasha. And this is Mess Magnets. We're back, baby. Back together and it feels so good. Yes, back to our regular scheduled programming. I'm sure people are like, what the F are you guys talking about?

[00:00:32] No, people are really excited for you and Pouya's discussion last week. It was, I feel like there was a lot of good YouTube comments. Yeah, the YouTube people, I think we're excited for it. Listen, because it's a YouTube show. It checks out. Okay, exactly.

[00:00:49] I enjoyed it, but we missed you, but I hope it was good time off for you also. I was so grateful that y'all were able to take it on without me just because the last few weeks have been a little much

[00:01:05] for me and it's just so much nicer that I didn't have to worry about watching the entire like Sidemen reality show and then talking about it with y'all because my time is unfortunately at a premium right now, but that's okay.

[00:01:23] We're grateful to have you here on Mess Magnets. I love you on Mess Magnets. Obviously, Mess Magnets is our baby. Period. It's like, I feel like we really built something special over the past couple of years, like not to be too corny, but it's so true.

[00:01:41] And okay, we I don't think we've read Noelle's review on the podcast yet. Have we? No. Yeah, so Noelle left us a five-star review a little bit earlier this month. I think it was just landed at like a time in between podcasts and got a little bit messed.

[00:01:55] Yeah. Yeah. And Noelle said I could listen to them discuss their Spotify's for hours five stars. Anytime I try to add a second culture podcast to my subscriptions. I appreciate this one more because Kirsten and Sasha don't use theirs to make other people feel less than they're so

[00:02:10] fun that I'm grateful when they share a little of their lives with us. The story about Carthage football jerseys. Cola mode. Yeah. This is the one where it's Joseph. I think so. It's still my favorite. You know, I wear it now.

[00:02:29] What I surprised him with a Raider game because the world is just too small. My best friend y'all is married to someone who used to like college football, but his dad was a Raider. So so they invited us to a Raider alumni game and everything

[00:02:51] is pumped and we got to meet Raider alumni. So I like surprise Karthik and he didn't even know where we were going. I just said pack a bag and when we got to the gate, unfortunately, he realized when it's a Vegas.

[00:03:05] He's like, there's no way like we're not going to a Raider game. So that's the only time he figured it out that we're going to a game, but he still didn't know what was going on. Well, yeah, that's huge. Obviously didn't live full scope. That's so fun.

[00:03:17] I love hearing about you and Karthik's life. It just is so blessed. Listen when you live in the Bay of flight to Vegas is not that bad. So thankfully it was fine, but and then my friends like dad

[00:03:31] comped everything else like hotel every I mean when all you got to pay is the flight and you can make it happen. Exactly. So that's why I always giggle about the Raiders because I was like you have to bring the jersey. He did not wear that shit.

[00:03:45] I did all this for him and he said Sasha this is embarrassing. Oh goodness gracious. Oh my gosh. I saw a meme that was like I bring a sort of I'll get paid again vibe to my spending habits that my bank account

[00:04:01] don't really like and it's like that's the thing where it's like I could buy the flight. I'll get paid again. It's fine. It's true though. It's so true. Unfortunately, don't live your life like that. I live and like I need to hear like I cannot be living my

[00:04:19] life like that. Like I should be bringing a paying off my credit cards energy to my bank account. I love but yet enough to wear my like mom help support my life until I didn't need her to basically so there's a privilege that I have. That I had.

[00:04:39] That set me up. It's set you up. It's amazing. And I'm so glad that you had that opportunity. It's a huge privilege. You can't like take that shit for granted. I was thinking about your mom the other day because I was

[00:04:52] looking at my eyebrows in the mirror and I was like they need help. They need threading like she got I don't trust anyone but I was like, wow, I wish I lived like near Sasha's mom because I know that she would she would literally do it

[00:05:07] such a good job. No, she would immediately do it. Are you kidding me? She like who needs this like she has a radar. She would see me and the thread would be out already. I could see this. She travels with her thread.

[00:05:22] What I mean what it's not hard to travel with thread. Yeah, like you say that as if it's like a massage table and she's bringing it everywhere. She goes imagine. Just pulls it out. She's got a full bed. It's heated and vibrates.

[00:05:37] She's like, okay, let's go ready to go. Oh my god, that's gonna be me in less than a week. I'm so ready. Have you done head spa? If you've done head spas, please let me know because I'm doing the most Instagrams. I'm so good at Instagrams.

[00:05:53] Instagram got me like I don't know how else to say it. They're like I'm doing the head spa and did I tell you I'm doing a face sculpt massage. Okay, Queen. Nothing's going to happen. I already know. It's the thing where like you might look slightly more

[00:06:11] snatched for like a day and then your face will go back. One million percent. I think the thing too like I get a lot of TikToks of people who do their like daily gua sha routine and they're like,

[00:06:23] yeah, look at the change in my face after like three months and I'm like, yeah, because you're doing a facial sculpting massage every single day and literally like forming your face like it's made of Play-Doh, which I don't understand how that's even possible. But apparently it works.

[00:06:40] It doesn't work. Like there's no way but it's Instagram. It'll be why not? It'll be such a relaxing treatment and like self-care is so important that it's who like who even cares if it like that's the type of thing where it's a long-term effect anyways.

[00:06:58] So like whatever might as well go. Yeah, like I'm not getting any, you know surgery even though one day maybe I will but not today and there's a buccal fat massage and I thought of you. Listen, they go in your jaw.

[00:07:16] I like it but I actually like that. No, I've seen I've seen the videos. I know exactly what you're talking about. I actually really want that massage because that's what I'm J pain, which I have really bad pain.

[00:07:29] And so it like releases your TMJ muscles in your jaw. So you don't have jaw pain. So like it good. It can make your face look slimmer but a lot of people myself included have like a really wide lower face because

[00:07:43] the muscles are so tight from clenching your jaw all the time and like grinding your teeth at night and stuff. So like I went I went for a TMJ facial massage because I was like, oh they're going to help.

[00:07:57] They didn't she didn't put on a pair of gloves and stick her hands in my mouth. So I was like, I was furious after this massage. No, I would I got I got scammed like I literally got

[00:08:07] scammed like sure if it feels nice when they like rub your face. Yeah, sure. But like it didn't release my TMJ and I was like, I was expecting her to put on those surgical gloves and stick their hands in my mouth. That's what their Instagram shows.

[00:08:21] Yeah, and it pissed me off because this was like a registered massage therapist. Like this was like I was it's been weeks and I'm still furious because I really wanted that full treatment to like release. Yes. I had to go. Well, I thought I had an ear infection.

[00:08:40] I think I shared this story, but I thought I had an ear infection turns out I had a bruised jaw because I was chewing too much gum. I don't think you have. I used to be like mom. I can't go to school.

[00:08:53] My mom's like what the heck like you're just trying to miss school and we just moved to Texas. She's like you just like aren't enjoying it. But you know, it's excuse. I was like, but my ear is killing me bro.

[00:09:04] Finally takes me to the EMT and the EMT goes. Oh, I think you have a bruised jaw. I didn't know that was a thing that could happen. Me either. And then he was like crazy. What are you doing? And then thankfully started naming things and he's like

[00:09:19] you chew a lot of gum and I was like I do and then he's like ma'am. You chewed so much gum that you are now in pain. Yeah, it was like a weird addiction and for a moment

[00:09:33] where like it was like every time like I'd go through a pack a week. Like how big of a pack? Like just the regular Orbit pack whatever. See I feel like that's not that much gum to be bruising your jaw.

[00:09:47] I don't know and I promise it's for anyone else. I wasn't doing nothing else. I don't think you would have told the story if you were. I was a good kid. I think I kissed one boy at that point in my life. Wow, and it bruised your jaw.

[00:10:05] That's crazy. Imagine. Yeah. I just like thought about him and it's just like really insane. We have a weird reaction. It's you know what? We all feel that way sometimes. Remind me not on air, but I have to tell you a story about this. Okay, I can't wait.

[00:10:24] I can't wait. Okay, let's get through this podcast so I can ask you for this nonsense. Okay, please. We are yappers. Okay. Yappers yapp. Yappers gonna yap. Okay, obviously biggest news in the pop culture space this week. Justin Timberlake got arrested for a D.

[00:10:47] It's called a DWI in America. It's a DUI in Canada. DUI and DWI are just different things here. So DUI and DWI is different. What's the difference? No, what's the difference? I know people that have gotten DUIs and I know people so

[00:11:06] DWI is driving while ability impaired and then DUI is driving under the influence. So it is different. Mm-hmm. Yeah, so basically this article this is a New York law, but still New York where Timberlake was arrested does not use DUI

[00:11:33] rather it uses DWI, but I know people from Oklahoma. I have gotten DUIs in college. But that's I'm pretty sure typically traffic law is the purview of the state, right? Yeah, it would be called different things. Yes, depending on where you go.

[00:11:52] I thought America just always called a DWI. No, because I don't think people would DUI. No, because so like because if you like if you're coming from America to Canada over the border and you have like a criminal record sometimes you can't cross the border and

[00:12:05] sometimes if you have like a DUI that could impact like just a lot of times like bands might not be able to come to Canada on tour because they're like a member of their bands can't cross the border because they have a DWI, but I know

[00:12:18] someone who got a DUI and they were supposed to go on a trip to Montana with friends shortly after so they like called the border to ask if they would be allowed to come in the border control agent was like we don't care about no DWIs. Oh Lord.

[00:12:35] Because I think like going into the States, they really only care if you have like drug offenses. That's really violent crime. Of course. Oh my gosh, people are ridiculous. Anyways, Justin Timberlake got a DUI. Yes. Like what is up with us today? Let's keep going.

[00:12:55] What is up with you? We're not well and it's Friday. We're woo girls on Friday. Yes. So again, I shouldn't laugh at him, but I think I be wanting because I don't want to say praying on this downfall

[00:13:15] because I don't want to ever talk to God about someone that I don't like, you know what I'm saying? Yes. I think it's also like obviously like driving while under the influence driving while impaired don't do it. Nobody should do it. It's not funny.

[00:13:32] It's a very serious matter like driving is probably the most dangerous thing. Most of us do on a regular basis. Like in freaking 4,000 pound vehicles. You could just kill someone so easily like or some of you imagine exactly.

[00:13:47] So it's like you have like that's a very serious responsibility that you need to take seriously and be cautious and defensive and not you know, be dumb and like drive while under the influence of obviously, it's not funny for someone to drive while under the influence.

[00:14:09] That being said no one was hurt. Thankfully in this situation and it's also like good to see a celebrity actually facing a consequence for an action because a lot of times really famous people can like pay a bribe or like get away based on their reputation.

[00:14:30] So it's like good to see celebrities facing consequences when they do dumb shit. And the thing is do you know what he must have had to do to be in Hampton's and as I'm be Justin Timberlake and a white man and still get caught.

[00:14:49] Well to be fair being Justin Timberlake didn't help in this situation. So basically the the cop he was pulled over by police officer Michael Arkinson and Michael Michael never like listen a cab, but maybe not. He could be Michael. We don't know.

[00:15:11] Well, well for now Michael you're good in this in this one instance. So he pulled over Justin Timberlake for driving through a stop sign and failing to stay on the correct side of the road and the complaint states that it was ascertained that

[00:15:27] the defendant was operating said vehicle and an intoxicant alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath. He was unable to divide attention. He had slowed speech. He was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.

[00:15:48] It is hilarious to me because again, what an idiot you have all this money in the world. Why aren't we Ubering? Why don't we have people on our team? That's a designated sober person that is going to drive us. You're telling me Justin Timberlake just have a driver.

[00:16:07] Why should he ever have to drive? Like I feel like you reach a certain level of point. You should never have to drive a car again. I would certainly never drive just tell me I am a rich person

[00:16:18] waiting to happen because when I tell you I already have the whole life mapped out. You see what I'm saying? Like I will what do you mean a drive? First of all, I am being driven in my very expensive car everywhere.

[00:16:33] And secondly, I'm just going to tell someone on my team to be sober. What the f are you an idiot? Yes, and literally and y'all the reason why this has been so funny is because he gets pulled over and the officer has no idea who he is.

[00:16:55] Does not recognize him whatsoever. He maybe he would recognize him if he had like his end in sync like curls and said it's going to be May. Um, it's just gonna be a problem is what happened. And then again, this is do we think this is real?

[00:17:13] I'm going to say this is alleged but maybe it's real and you know, it this was coming out that the cop pulls him over and he was so young that he didn't know who Justin was. So he said he didn't recognize him or his name and then a

[00:17:29] second source again could all be malarkey, but it's so funny. And this is why you probably have seen these memes. Justin said under his breath. This is going to ruin the tour and the cop goes what tour Justin goes the world tour.

[00:17:45] Maybe he thought Justin was in the military and was about to be deployed. And this was his last moment of fun. He's gonna ruin his tour of duty. No, just absolutely ridiculous. The memes are so funny. I love I love a good meme.

[00:18:02] I'm going to be like anytime anything inconveniences me. I'm like, oh, this is when I am impact the door. I can't breathe. So now of course that's become the funniest meme of my life. And then I have to bring this up because listen, we talked

[00:18:19] about this many times, especially when we did Brittany's book, but there is an acceptance speech going around in 2007 at the Brit Awards and this is what Justin Timberlake said. I'm mad already. Okay, should I play it? I wonder if it'll work. Oh, will it work?

[00:18:39] Try and play it and we'll see. Okay, he's going to say something bad about you. You guys have fun tonight. Thank you very much. So sweet. Karma is so sweet. Like whoever found that clip deserves to be a billionaire. Like a billionaire. It was so funny.

[00:19:12] Like this is because that's the thing too. The Brittany Army, Brittany Nation, the Free Brittany crowd, they know their history. They know when Brittany's been wronged and they have timestamps. Someone saw the headline that was like, oh, Justin Timberlake

[00:19:28] Timberlake got a DWI and they're like, let me open my Rolodex. I remember at the Brit Awards in 2007. He said this, let me instantly share the clip and go viral. That's what I'm saying. How do we do this?

[00:19:39] Like command F in our brain where they're like, I knew that he said stop drinking. Imagine having a brain power. Up loser. I can't even recognize people. I've already watched a full season of on TV when they come on the second season of TV.

[00:19:56] First of all, I forget what season they were on immediately if I watch any show. Let's be so serious with me. I can't. Oh my gosh. But anyway, I just I love pop culture people. Y'all are amazing because yes, these people with like the

[00:20:10] photographic memory in the Rolodex and so okay. Here's more though because obviously Justin Timberlake is with Jessica Biel. Yes, and so they have two children who are nine and four. They've been married since 2012. And so I saw a clip today, which is Jessica Biel talking about

[00:20:31] how hard the tour is going to be on the family and how difficult it will be to integrate time with the children and how he's never been on tour when they had two kids before only when they had one kid.

[00:20:43] And like it's hard because they want to have time with the kids, but also when it's downtime, he needs to relax, relax because the tour is so demanding and then he's out here getting a DWI like the first break he gets on the tour.

[00:20:56] Like it's just that's embarrassing. I mean, she's out here speaking this way and he's like, Let me get a deal. And she got a bob. What do we think that means everyone? I think bobs are just trendy right now.

[00:21:13] She's never gonna leave him after he embarrassed her in New Orleans. Yeah, that's the thing where it's like I think I don't know what critical mass of embarrassment would need to be reached in order to actually end the relationship. Yeah. Okay. I'm with you on that.

[00:21:29] But yeah, so that's what's going on with JT. Yes, it's just it's quite ridiculous.

[00:22:28] Anyway, so that's what's going on. We think it's just karma coming back and without statement. No one cares. Truly. I don't give a flying F. That's like, oh, they're grateful. No one was hurt. Everyone's okay. You can afford a freaking Uber. Just pay. Good Lord.

[00:22:56] Also like I feel like when people go to the Hamptons, is it really that large of a geographic area you can walk by? It is. It is. It depends on where you're staying. Yeah. Okay, fair enough. And even the Cape, that's where I go for work funny enough

[00:23:10] all the time. That's our retreats are so there it's it's not even that it's distance wise far. It's just right. The whole vibe is supposed to be middle of nowhere hard to get through. Okay, fine. I take it back. My lack of knowledge of geography strikes again.

[00:23:27] I'm not 100% about the Hamptons, but I'm pretty sure that it's the same vibe. But yeah, can we wait? I yes. We don't actually have this on the agenda. But can we talk about Kendrick's pop-out show for like two seconds? I did not put this.

[00:23:46] I like I just read when we were talking about like Karma. It made me think about yes, and then that made me think about mom. Oh, we like we don't have to really go into it at all.

[00:23:59] But I just kind of want to point out that it happened about it. So if folks are wondering, you know, we've covered a little bit like peripherally what this like Kendrick Drake J Cole beef is a recap kickback did like a super deep dive.

[00:24:16] So check check out what Chappelle was talking about. But anyway, the pop-out is a one-off concert that happened on Juneteenth, which is June 19th. But and Kendrick hosted it and it is, you know supposed to be Juneteenth which is the celebration of black Americans or

[00:24:35] a being freed as enslaved people, especially if you're from the South where they do not tell people. Yeah, which is like me. I don't know. Maybe someone's listening to this that's never heard about it, but it's just like such a crazy thing when you don't know

[00:24:52] that history to learn that it's like there was like the Proclamation of Emancipation and then a lot of people especially like in the South were like, yeah, but we won't tell the enslaved people will just continue what we're doing and they

[00:25:05] just didn't find out until June like it's just so hard to even comprehend. I know people could be so evil. Yeah, they didn't find out until two years later and what's crazy is Texas ends up giving you I don't know if you will

[00:25:20] definitely no one has seen besides probably if you live in Oklahoma, but if you know that Oklahoma has this little actually up right up here behind me, you know that little thing that's sticking out that panhandle Texas gave that to Oklahoma so they could keep slaves.

[00:25:37] Oh my God, like that little part so that they could be considered the South. So that's Texas for you anyway, so on Juneteenth, which is June 19th, like I said, there he hosts his concert and then people and listen, it was amazing. It's in Inglewood.

[00:25:56] It's very much a celebration of black culture, but specifically LA and California West Coast hip hop. Okay, which is like really cool because Tye Dolla $ign had come out Tyler the Creator Roddy Ricch. Anyway, everyone YG came out and I said not me forgetting all

[00:26:17] these songs existed again. Everyone had come out and it was live streamed. And when I tell you on Netflix live stream, what the hell are y'all doing because the camera work was outrageous and the biggest thing y'all big day for us haters in this world biggest

[00:26:37] day for a hater because Kendrick Lamar comes out right first one away. Dr. Dre comes out interesting because there's a line and not like us that says right like why is he around Baca? He has a weird case. Dr. Dre around talk about weird cases.

[00:26:55] It's yeah, that's questionable. But again, unfortunately when you're in the business of talking about a rap battle, correct? There's your good. There's going to be problematic very much that so dr. Dre comes out which again I was so excited by and he comes

[00:27:12] out performs and it's so funny because dr. Dre introduces the the rest and when he says I see dead people I couldn't breathe. Okay, just outrageous. Well, the whole set list was just like phenomenal. Yes. It no it was so good.

[00:27:38] I mean even from the start like it was basically act one act to act three kind of so it was DJ head and friends must DJ mustard and friends muster on the beat and then Kendrick so Kendrick comes out right? It was just ridiculous.

[00:27:53] All these song comes out and then I'm telling you when California love came on what dr. Dre did still Dr. Dre and then California love comes on and I almost threw up because I'm telling you I don't even be liking living

[00:28:07] in the Bay Area, but when California love comes on anywhere, Okay, anywhere in the world. I'm just like welcome everybody to the wild wild west like why okay, like I don't even claim it but what a good song

[00:28:22] it's what the groomsmen at my wedding came out to as well. So just ridiculous and then not like us starts and can we chat about this because not like us was performed not one not two not three not four not five six times.

[00:28:42] It's it's just what needed to be good like have you ever listened to not like us just one time? No, like it's that's one where I'm always like and back to the beginning. Let's go so good.

[00:28:57] And of course there there's just so much more to it but is it I'm not even going to get but there was a lot of celebrities in attendance as well. Her blonde James fascinating was in the crowd, but at one

[00:29:11] point I think after not not like us came on, you know, like maybe one or two times everyone joins the stage and I mean it was giving La gang people like there's a tweet going around for my Greeks, you'll know like Greeks as in sorority fraternity

[00:29:30] people, but they said they all the gang sent their chapter president because they had people in blue people in red and many others on stage all dancing together to not like us and then this was the biggest day for me because Russell Westbrook

[00:29:51] ends up on stage and I could cry because seeing Russell Westbrook happy is just is just what makes me happy. Because oh my God, okay. For people that don't know who Russell Westbrook is, of course, he was an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball player.

[00:30:11] Kevin Durant's bitch ass snake ass leaves the Thunder to go to the team that beats them Warriors. Yeah, talk about mess to then end up beating the Thunder. You're oh I hate Kevin Durant never gonna freaking win another ring.

[00:30:30] Um, so Russell Westbrook is kind of like left on his own with the Thunder and a very young team. So he is and he's LA through and through if you know him like from before him and his wife was also basketball player at UCLA like just so cute.

[00:30:45] I love everything about them. He doesn't have any time of his life. LeBron never made it on stage shady because it's known that LeBron and Drake be besties and allegedly allegedly allegedly there's you know, many things that go on in

[00:31:04] tow in Canada when LeBron ends up in Canada alleged alleged and then another thing drama wise is to Rosen freaking basketball player was on and you're just like what does that matter? What like he's on there cool. Why?

[00:31:25] Well turns out my man used to be in OVO like he he played basketball for the Toronto Raptors. And DeMar DeRozan used to be head-to-toe in OVO gear. Ovi ho. Yes. So it is very funny that he was also on stage doing a wild. Yeah, it's listen.

[00:31:53] Kendrick is the epitome of a hater and I respect so much like hating is never bad. That's all this taught me and again, I've missed a lot of like culturally significant things. This is not my story to tell.

[00:32:08] Yeah, this is not the podcast to break down all of that just more so like this happened and the beef continues and I don't think it's like continue Drake like Drake's dead. I don't know. Yeah, at this point.

[00:32:20] There's only one way to end it if you want if Drake wants to win and I'm not going to say on a podcast. It's very funny that Drake sold all of his properties in the States. Correct? Like that's to me the funniest part of all but he's like

[00:32:34] I'm in Canada now just one. Oh my God. I just I can't breathe. Okay, and the fact that back that ass up played I died. Okay, that is nice. Do you have a whole song a whole song that as soon as it comes on its curtains?

[00:32:57] Like you are going to dance like yeah, a liberated woman as they say dance like a liberal K. I don't know off the top of my head, but I'm sure it exists. Yeah for me. It's back that ass up. Honestly, it could very well be promiscuous. Oh, see?

[00:33:21] Yeah, leave us in your five-star review. What is that song? What's your hoes? Yeah. No, I can't there's nothing wrong with it. It's just you know, no judgment. No, it's like very much. Let's make a playlist so that we can all be host together.

[00:33:35] I do what period I will make a Spotify playlist to share. So send it to us put it in your five-star review. Send it to Twitter at mess magnets. Yeah, I need to know like what is that song that you're let us know. We'll make a playlist.

[00:33:48] I'll be fun. Yes, and that you're just going to act a full on. Like I love it. I need it. Okay, it'll be the playlist will be called like songs that make messengers go crazy. Oh,

[00:34:04] can we like find a thing that like songs is the S L should be something you need to be something and then T needs to be so so songs like under something. Oh my God. There's a person who goes to my spin gym that has a shirt

[00:34:25] that says I'm a slut but it's like super loving something like that's what I'm saying. We need it's funny. So yeah, something like that would be great. That's going to be the name of the spot. So send us again back that I have been promiscuous top two

[00:34:42] songs right now. Yeah, and I mean I'm that subject to change. I have to think about it long. Yeah, that's the first one that came you need to go through your playlist and be like, oh when does my body start like acting out? Yeah, when is it uncontrollable?

[00:34:56] Yeah, I mean, okay. So should we talk about Millie hurry silent? Oh my God. This is so funny to me. That's why I had to put it in here. It's like funny but sad also. I'm just like family over this.

[00:35:14] Yeah, because obviously Billy Cyrus blew up his whole life and his whole family and now he's getting he's filing for divorce or no fire Rose is filing for divorce and there's now allegations of domestic abuse. Yeah, it's ridiculous.

[00:35:33] So basically we again we talked about this where Billy Ray Cyrus is married to someone very very young while he met on the set of the Hannah Montana and again just go like we did a whole Cyrus family drama deep dive. So check that out.

[00:35:50] But anyway, it's just it's wild because Billy Ray Cyrus submits this divorce filing in May and she was a day away from a preventative double mastectomy apparently when it was happening, but then just no sense of empathy not zero nothing but that's when like Carson was saying.

[00:36:13] Yeah, she has now like done a counter not like a file but just basically saying that she was unsafe living with him in the weeks up to her surgery and he allegedly allegedly allegedly subjected her to chaos where he continued, you know to launch verbal assaults again.

[00:36:33] We don't know what's true, but yeah, it's just who am I'd also shut down a person. It doesn't matter man or woman when it comes to abuse and you know, she felt like she was an emotional physical psychological prison and what I will say this is just like

[00:36:50] a known thing when there is a power differential in a relationship. It's easier for this stuff to happen. A hundred percent it a hundred percent. It kind of sets the scene for that to be possible and I really really hate there's some responses that have been

[00:37:12] made public by Billy Ray Cyrus's attorneys that are basically like saying that there are messages of her saying things to go. I miss you. Let's work it out. Let's become closer. I don't want to live without you. They're basically saying like wow.

[00:37:27] Well, if she was facing domestic abuse, you would never say these things which is just so ignorant and counter to everything we actually know about it. Exactly read one psychology book just one one chapter. It's like textbook how you know, this unfortunately follows

[00:37:49] a similar line of well, and that's that's the thing too. I think a lot of people act like domestic abuse is something where it just happens out of the blue and it escalates from zero to 1000 and you should immediately just leave and all

[00:38:05] and every reaction is linear and the same and that every that like a lot of onus gets put on victims of abuse to be the perfect victim and to immediately leave when something goes wrong blah blah blah, but like domestic abuse domestic

[00:38:21] violence all those things like it doesn't go from like one day. You're suddenly getting like punched or one day you are suddenly being totally verbally berated or whatever like it's something that builds and abusers specifically will groom you to become a victim of their abuse again.

[00:38:44] We don't know the facts of this situation. We're not talking about necessarily just like just in in general. It's just like the response from his lawyers is just further reflecting a really really really negative thing about society right now and just if if people are suffering like there

[00:39:03] there are people out there that want to help you and yeah, I make sure you're like getting the help you work on a work on a safety plan work on whatever you need to do to take care of yourself and and get out when it's when it's safe.

[00:39:20] Mm-hmm. And yeah, just please please do what's best and right for you. Also, I must say what's wild is she's also saying that he intentionally interfered with her career like there's a lot of stuff coming out now and I'm sure it'll come out more.

[00:39:38] So I don't want to get into all the details now and then have to repeat once we like maybe no more information even yeah, exactly, but it's just it's really sad what's going on right now and they the Cyrus family has just like messed up themselves

[00:39:55] over these people. They're dating and married to and now look at this like just ridiculous. Yeah, and you just have to look like nobody is talking to Billy Ray. Yeah in the family and I just think that's very telling period.

[00:40:12] But yeah, sorry to have a bummer note there and to get on my soapbox, but I can't help it. It's who I am. Yeah, we just gotta we gotta talk. Okay. It is what it is. But anyway, let's let's chat about like lighter things. Yes.

[00:40:29] So I put this in we had a couple of I feel like really big celebrity profiles that were really taking over the timeline this week. And so Zendaya did a profile for Elle magazine. The article is called Zendaya holds court funny. Yeah, challengers. Haha.

[00:40:50] And it's just like a really great article where you get a lot of insight into Zendaya's career and Zendaya and her fashion choices and she talks a little bit her relationship with why can I remember Tom's last name? Oh, what what Tom Holland Tom Holland? Wow my brain.

[00:41:13] My brain completely malfunction there. My my Tom Hiddleston. Yeah. Yeah, and she talks. Yeah a little bit about her relationship with him and privacy versus what gets to be public. It's just a really great article.

[00:41:29] And so I wanted to put it out for people to yeah, and also the looks y'all every photo like so many stunning editorial photos in this highlight. So yeah, you definitely have to go look up the article and

[00:41:42] look up the photos yourselves, but you know some people maybe don't pay that much attention to what's going on. Yeah, and like magazines. So I just wanted to queue that up as well as Sabrina Carpenter also did a big interview for the Rolling Stone which came

[00:42:01] with the announcement of her tour which will start in the fall and I just wanted to bring this up because oh look at She's doing where top Spotify fans are getting first access to tickets and like better tickets like available only to the

[00:42:18] Spotify top fans in each city. I feel like I might be one of them by mistake if that makes sense CPM people are really mad about like espresso just auto playing after like everything and people are like, wow, like this is payola.

[00:42:33] This is like the YouTube that people are trying to say that Sabrina Carpenter's an industry plant when she fully has like six albums that has been hustling since she was a little little girl and I'm like, okay enough.

[00:42:45] I don't think people know what an industry plant is because they're all right in the same thing about Chapel Rowan and she is again been working for years, you know who is I forget her name is it Tay little Tay or something like that.

[00:43:00] Y'all know I don't be knowing these young new people. I'm an old but little Tay or something like that is her name. Yeah. Well, no not this one. Okay. This one is little Tay is the Asian younger person.

[00:43:17] So that's not what I'm thinking of but someone with a T I think whatever. Okay, it's fine. But there are and also I will say Kirsten you and I talked about some s magnets and every time I said a reminder it

[00:43:27] shows up that we had to check in 2030 something if Drake was an industry plant stop. No, I swear to God it's in I guess we did this on mess magnets one on Earth. Did we talk because I don't even think that was like during the beef conversation.

[00:43:45] That would have been no, I don't know when we did it. Can you can you know when you set a reminder? I don't know but that's fucking hilarious again. If Drake has one hater, it's me if Drake has no haters.

[00:44:00] It means me and if Drake is my haters me and Kendrick Lamarble dead. It's yeah, it just is January 4th. So sometime January 4th you and I had this conversation because it says see if Drake is an industry plant on 1st January 2034.

[00:44:20] I'll go back and listen to the best magnets from that week. Anyway, I just needed to say that because I always think of this whenever I oh my God. That's so funny. Okay, I'm going to go back and listen to our first podcast

[00:44:34] of the year and I'll report back next week when we can talk about it. But yeah, anyways Sabrina Carpenter has a tour coming out. So yeah, your eyes peeled if you would like to get tickets or look into getting tickets. We're telling you ahead of time.

[00:44:48] Okay, and I think she also like her some of her songs are also breaking a lot of like Spotify records. Well, I mean which like again, yeah, it is getting played after everything exactly. First of all, whoever did that her team really deserves

[00:45:07] all the monies that they are getting. I don't even care. I guess what I like the song. Oh, yeah. No, it's a good song. Oh, I can't in a pleat period this. Okay. Wait, this is the one that I was thinking of so obviously

[00:45:22] we talked about please please please getting released. Yes, literally 30 minutes after got released and it broke the record for biggest streaming week for a solo female song on us Spotify with 31.778 million streams surpassing so funny good for you by Olivia Rodrigo, which like have

[00:45:40] I ever do have we were talked through like the Sabrina Olivia Rodrigo Joshua Bassett. Yeah. Well, I don't know maybe not. No, no, I don't we have not we have not not on the pot. Anyways, it's just funny that it's Olivia Rodrigo because

[00:45:52] they were like like Sabrina's the other woman in like this one driver's license Etc. We don't need to get into it. It's in the past. It made me laugh though that it was a record taken from Olivia not that I'm not an Olivia fan.

[00:46:06] I love yeah, we have very much we have all girlies. Okay, maybe we're not here Perry. Oh, anyway, yeah, cuz Katy Perry was releasing music with dr. Luke this week. So I mean are we surprised it's it is it surprising? No, is it disappointing? Yes.

[00:46:25] Okay valid valid valid. Okay, we have one story that was submitted by a messenger. So we should just touch on it. I'm neither of us are like big Bachelor Nation girlies. I don't think we're like the experts to really break it all

[00:46:41] down but Clayton Eckhart who was from The Bachelor was had like a very lengthy like paternity trial with someone who claimed to be pregnant with baby and it got thrown out this week. So who is it with do we know? Um, oh Laura. Okay. Okay.

[00:47:05] Do we know who Laura Owens is? She also from Bachelor Nation? Unfortunately, I'm just not a Bachelorette girly Bachelor Bachelorette girly anymore. So no does it say Bachelor? Yeah, it doesn't I don't know. Maybe I was sorry for yelling at us currently.

[00:47:25] I said first and foremost, we are not Bachelor Nation girlies. I'm so sorry. I should have asked Haley before we recorded. Yeah, I didn't and that's on me but basically the case got thrown out so interesting and she ends up writing.

[00:47:42] I just looked this up shout out to Bachelor Nation on reddit. So someone said Laura Owens. She also writes an art medium article apparently that tried discredit the findings of the court while leaving out important context. Laura filed a paternity petition for twins and has been unable

[00:48:01] to provide any verified medical records from the PPH that would support twins. How can the court find her actions in good faith when Laura is unable to provide the evidence she claims to have? Yeah, this this whole thing is cuckoo because there's it also

[00:48:21] I think that we talked about this months ago where it was like he literally posted his receipt from the DNA to be like look I gave my DNA like please leave me alone. So it's over now for him.

[00:48:32] Well, it's determined that she has a pattern of similar if not identical behavior and the court involvement revering to this matter. Yeah, so she seems like she does this has done it. She doesn't sound well. So yeah, and there might be tampering of physical evidence. Oh my God.

[00:48:52] Ooh, no messy. It's so much failure to demonstrate the confirmation of ongoing pregnancy. Oh my God. Y'all that's a lot. There's a long article on reddit on Bachelor Nation. So shout out to who is this person XOXO Regina goose look

[00:49:09] up that article if you want to not article that post she's put they've tied. They have put their sources. They put the trial stream and the people article. Yeah, so that's the that's the best place to go to get the

[00:49:22] full details because yeah, it seems very juicy and I didn't know about this until right now. So I can't wait to read all of this. I'm sorry. I should have sent it to you sooner. No, it's fine. Oh my God. This is so exciting one thing about me.

[00:49:34] I love other people's drama. So period we're nosy. It's who we are. Are you do you want to do an anonymous? Yes, let's do it. Okay, first and foremost. I need to say we are actually even lower on anonymous.

[00:49:48] Yeah, I thought that we were because I realized today when I was looking for one that I had forgotten to remove some that we had already used. So we are running quite low. So if people have mess, please, please, please, please, please

[00:50:01] send it in tinyworld.com slash mess magnets. We will get to them on the podcast and we love we love mess. Mm-hmm. So yeah, that's the please the deal. Please don't make us beg. Please like we have very little so we need more we had like

[00:50:26] we can get through a couple more weeks. But after that we have none and I personally really think anonymous is a really great part of the podcast. So y'all know it in it. Come on. Yes, so okay. That being said let's get into our mess or messenger pronouns

[00:50:43] are she her says, okay, so I'm in a fairly niche music community. Okay. It's not uncommon for fans of the subgenre to travel across the country or internationally for shows and festivals. Got it recently. Our messenger was traveling for non concert reasons and a guy

[00:51:03] replied to her Instagram story in the city. She was visiting basically saying hey, I think we have some mutual friends from the concert scene. You're in my city. Let's grab a beer. Oh, this guy is a well-known promoter in the scene.

[00:51:18] Okay, and so our messenger has to admit she was wondering like could this be parlayed into backstage passes or something else that would like benefit her in this subgenre of concert music scene, but judging by this man's social media. He was also very clearly a wife guy.

[00:51:38] So our messenger did not have any expectations of it being like a steamy makeup hookup or anything like that which may have been naive of her. Okay. Okay. Okay. So long story short our messenger meets up with the promoter

[00:51:50] at a bar and a half hour in he's telling her about how he recently separated from his wife. Neat. The tone of the conversation is maybe slightly flirty, but they mostly just chat about music and bands. Okay fast forward another half hour and our messenger mentions

[00:52:08] one of her favorite bands and he says that's funny. I actually dated their manager for a while. What the hell? And then our messenger says in my head. I'm like that math meme guy trying to figure out exactly when exactly this recently separated wife guy had time for

[00:52:22] another relationship, but whatever the night ends with nothing more scandalous than a hug. Okay good. Right? So then our messenger never hears from this man again. Not a peep not a nice to meet you. Nothing no messages. A few days later.

[00:52:40] He starts vague booking hard about how he can't stop thinking about someone special and life has sent him an unexpectedly amazing surprise and the cherry on top is a selfie on a plane of this guy captured it gets harder to leave this place every time.

[00:53:00] So our messenger did some very minor sleuthing and reveals that he is lying out of the city where that band manager lives. Mess messy. What a guy. What I guess their relationship wasn't so brief. Wow, our messenger says it's been a couple of months.

[00:53:15] He occasionally will drop a heart. I react or otherwise reply to my social media posts and then go radio silent again. You were so she says I can only now assume that this late 30s guy who has a whole ass ex-wife and bold to presume

[00:53:32] it's an ex-wife is now in some kind of tumultuous off again on again relationship with this other woman or he chats up other women when they're mad at each other or something we're all holding out hope for backstage passes. That's what okay messenger.

[00:53:52] How do we get you to maybe respond back to him just for the backstage passes? Sasha, this is your time to teach someone how to be toxic. Yeah, the the tea is you should always like when they write when they put the heart eyes.

[00:54:11] No one's a flirt with the man, but I think there's a way a little bit. Yeah, just a little he sucks anyway. So I just feel like there's a way that we could really get you these passes.

[00:54:25] I just feel like you have to breadcrumb him a little bit. You will like his stories. Does he post about the band? I mean, I really he posts like some of that's why so whenever he posts all about the band me thinks you just gotta immediately

[00:54:47] be like, oh my gosh. I love them. Oh, do you get to see them a lot question mark? Me thinks you got to go full throttle and get back you. I think you can get them. I think you can get them. Yeah, you can get them.

[00:55:01] I think that this man would be very easily manipulated into giving you a red. You might have to kiss him, but no, there's a way to get out of that too. No. Yeah. I just think like you ditch him once you get the passes. Yeah, 100% period. Yes.

[00:55:22] Oh my God. I really hope you get them. Yeah, me too. I love that for you. And thank you for submitting this mess because it's fun. Yeah, I like need you to get this the backstage ticket. So please write in when you make it.

[00:55:38] Yeah, let us know send us a selfie from backstage. We won't share it with the audience. No, no, never. I just will just say like thumbs up everyone our girl made it. Yes, 100% so I think that's I think that's it another episode of mess magnets in the books.

[00:55:56] We have killed it again. Of course great job both of us just the nonsense talk. But I love it. It's it's fun. We I love it. I feel like every time we're like, oh that episode was kind of weird then people are like, oh, I loved it.

[00:56:11] I'd listen to them talk about their Spotify's forever. We appreciate y'all because I just feel like the messengers are just like us and we forget that sometimes for real like they're just the same but Sasha if people want to hear more from you, where can they find you?

[00:56:28] You can of course find me talking below deck with Chappelle another toxic relationship. No, I'm just kidding below deck med over on Rob has a podcast YouTube channel or on the Bravo TV where hap ups feed as or no, sorry now it's called below deck rehab. I'm sorry.

[00:56:50] Wow. Amateur hour over here. Yeah. No name change. Okay. I'm sorry. I'm dead naming it. That is so bad. So don't dead name people. It's disrespectful and then I'm also we're coming to an end of jet lag the games reaction coverage over on YouTube as well.

[00:57:19] Taryn Armstrong and I are talking jet lag the game to been so much fun. Y'all have been really loving the coverage to check that on Robbins podcast YouTube channel and Mike Bloom and I are long have launched new podcast. Hello messengers. I need y'all in the chat.

[00:57:52] we bring in a favorite reality TV star and talk about their scripted TV journey and maybe we talk about a show. So we just had Bryce Isaiah on talking about House of the Dragon and y'all know it was hilarious because mess messy as hell.

[00:58:11] Okay, we were is oh my God. We were talking about trains if you know what I mean, check it out. Check out why you should dilute the gene pool. And with that for everything else is following a Twitter at fun size underscore.
