[00:00:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Hi, I'm Lovina.

[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And this is Mess Magnets.

[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_00]: We're back, baby.

[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Yay!

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_02]: You're home.

[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm home. I say it every time.

[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm going to do it again.

[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm so happy to be here.

[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I love being here.

[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like I've become a regular correspondent.

[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_02]: You are.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: You absolutely are.

[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_00]: We love having you here.

[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And like, I've been away.

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Sasha's been away.

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And so we've leaned on you a little bit lately

[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_00]: and you always step up to the plate.

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So it's always great to have you.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Lean on me always.

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Miss Sasha is traveling the globe.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't blame her.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I would do it too.

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Come on now.

[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I wish I was.

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Listen, I wish I had gone on a safari in Kenya

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: and then to Europe.

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_00]: That would have been wonderful, but no, I was home.

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I texted with her this morning as of recording with recording

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_02]: current, current day.

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: She's back home and she said that it was a trip of a lifetime.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And I said, do not text me about it.

[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_02]: This is not a texting conversation.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_02]: This is an in person or phone call.

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So like save it.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And I can't wait to hear about it.

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_00]: No, we need to do like a zoom so she can show us the

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_00]: PowerPoint presentation together while she tells us about it.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel very strongly about this, but yes,

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Sasha is officially back in the country,

[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_00]: but she's still struggling with jet lag.

[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So she will be back next week with me for our regular.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Schedule, but today it's me and Levina,

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: which is going to be so great.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Before we get into it, I do just want to say.

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_00]: We have not gotten any five star ratings interviews since

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Sasha left.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking, I'm beginning to take it personally that I didn't

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_00]: do a good job for her.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I would really love if y'all could go to your

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: podcast app, leave a five star rating and read from

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: S magnets. If you've already done so,

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_00]: you could grab a parent's phone or partner's phone or

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_00]: friend's phone or as one intrepid messenger has done

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_00]: before the check in iPad at your dentist office.

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_00]: You can rate us anywhere.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And so it would really be appreciated if we get some

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: new five star reviews before I'm back recording with Sasha.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm begging at this point.

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm on my knees.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Make it like a welcome home gift for Sasha.

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Come on, you guys.

[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And so we do have a little bit of actual pop culture stuff to

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: get into. I feel like it's been a little bit dry out there,

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_00]: but we do have some stuff that's been going on recently

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_00]: to talk about. So I guess let's just get right into it.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Perfect. Let's do it.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_00]: So last week on August 23rd,

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Sabrina Carpenter's new album was released.

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_00]: It's literally called Short and Sweet, which it is.

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_00]: It's 12 songs and 36 minutes total.

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And a few days ago I literally texted you,

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Libby and I was like, listen to the album.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Yeah.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I tend to be a little bit slow.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like sometimes if anyone's kind of a,

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: which is weird because it's like I'm on mess magnets.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_02]: So like why would I say this about myself?

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like I'm a boomer sometimes,

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_02]: particularly with music because we're like, Oh,

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I love this artist.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I love this song.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, I have never.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Who is this?

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: So Sabrina Carpenter's not one of those people,

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: but I will say I was a little bit slower on getting on the album.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But when I listened to it,

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm very, very happy that I did.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you were within a week.

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think you're fine.

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I listened to it right away when it came out.

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I love the album.

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it is a no skip pop album.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Highly recommend.

[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And the critical response has been really positive too.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Even pitchfork gave it an eight,

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_00]: which like pitchfork notoriously gave like a panic at the discos,

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: a fever you can't sweat out like a 1.5

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_00]: when that album is clearly a 10 on 10.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Pitchfork just like gets bored sometimes and is like, Hey,

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to just based upon my mood today.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Also it's like, how do they even like, what is the criteria?

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_02]: What's the formula?

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_02]: How do they come up with it?

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Who's coming up with it?

[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it one person?

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it 10?

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_02]: It's what is it?

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_00]: We have no idea.

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: It's totally fake.

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Just like any kind of, you know, review system is a little bit fake.

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_00]: But they're normally really mean.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_00]: When you said that they like get bored, all I could think of was,

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's from housewives where the woman's like, I got bored.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I decided to ruin lunch.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what pitchfork does.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: They just make up numbers and run with it.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Literally.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_00]: There's also obviously like espresso and please, please, please are the

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_00]: two singles that have already been out before the album was

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_00]: released.

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_00]: But taste is the single that came out with the release of the

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_00]: album came with a music video featuring Jenna or Tega.

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's just a ton of movie references of them,

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_00]: like trying to kill each other.

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And then they kiss at the end.

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's funny because Jenna or Tega and Olivia,

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Rodrigo have been friends since they were children.

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And obviously, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter have been a

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_00]: previous love triangle.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like what's it called the music video.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_02]: It feels reminiscent of like the boy is mine where like the

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_02]: boy and I mean like Brandy and Monica, not with Ariana Grande.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's not the one I recognize as the real the

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: boys.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: They're real.

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, good.

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, cool.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we are both real ones for that.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: All of the messengers are too, of course.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But yes, the end of the music video is just kind of like,

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_02]: well anyways, you know, we don't, we both don't need him kind

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_02]: of a vibe.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_02]: So I like that.

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I don't really know too much about like the Olivia

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Rodrigo, the, the tween, you know, drama, but I would

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_02]: like they need to like break the internet and get together.

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_00]: They need to get on the remix together.

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they should hash it out on the remix.

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't remember what Charlie said.

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Which is bad because referencing.

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Well actually technically that was not Billy.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It was Lord who said it.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is this bad because Charlie's my number one girl.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It's listen, it's and the whole joke is not being able

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_00]: to tell Charlie and Lord apart.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's hilarious.

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I listen, I do, I do like Charlie, but she's not my number

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_00]: one girl.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So you can have that on her.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I dyed my hair black because of her.

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you know that?

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And it suits you.

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I did not know it was because of her.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I just, you know, I had a mental breakdown last year

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and I was on Pinterest and I was listening to music

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and I was like, my girl's hair is everything.

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to die.

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's who's among us hasn't.

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I literally, this is actually embarrassing to admit to in

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_00]: 2014 when the shake it off music video came out for Taylor

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Swift and it's when she had a Bob, I literally called this

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: line and when I got a Bob that day.

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, I'm not even kidding.

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm being dead.

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_01]: You're the OG Bob Queen.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Went straight to the salon and got a fuck ass Bob.

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Julie Chen Moonves.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Who like, yes.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Never could never.

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm obsessed.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I need pictures.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's so embarrassing, but it's fine.

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: It was literally 10 years ago.

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'll find some pictures to send you.

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It was crazy.

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It was literally crazy.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And I kept it up for a little bit too.

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Fuck ass Bob.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_00]: It was.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But okay.

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: So this album from Sabrina is drawing a lot of parallels and a

[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_00]: lot of conversation towards the little love triangle situation

[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_00]: with herself, Sean Mendez and Camila Cabello.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_00]: See, I didn't even know about this.

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I K,

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I was floored when there was actually songs about this

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00]: because I feel like I saw Sean Mendez and Sabrina Carpenter

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_00]: out like one time and I was like, well that's fake and for

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_00]: PR, no way anything's happening there.

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But then now there's multiple songs and like there is proof of

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_00]: her like wearing all his clothes, which goes with,

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: there's a lyric in taste.

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_00]: That's like, oh, you're wondering where half his wardrobe went.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: My body is where it's at.

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And like that kind of thing.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And then it talks about Palm Springs, but who's by your side.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's when Sean and Camila were at Coachella together,

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess last year.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And so it lines up,

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_00]: but the funniest thing about this by far before we even get

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_00]: into all of it is Camila Cabello had a new album come out on

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: June 28th of this year.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It's called CXOXO.

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_00]: She wants to be Charlie so bad.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_00]: She wishes she could be, but she can't.

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And it has songs about this as well.

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And she literally did a TikTok like lip syncing to one of them

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_00]: that's clearly about Sabrina like this week.

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's like nobody was talking about it because nobody listened

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_00]: to Camila's album.

[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Like nobody knew about it until Sabrina's came out because

[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_00]: this album has been huge.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I think this is going to be her first ever number one release

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: and taste is looking to be like her first ever,

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: like number one single on release.

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Like obviously other songs have hit number one,

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's taken time.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is wild to me that Espresso.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I understand why, but like, you know,

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Espresso being like the breakout hit for her really.

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_02]: If you think about it, but like, I feel like I,

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I always was like watching her, you know,

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_02]: in a sense I felt like this would happen,

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_02]: but I didn't think that it would take,

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_02]: not that it took a really long, but I felt like,

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know,

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it would have happened before like with feather

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and stuff like that.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I would have, I would have thought so too.

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: But her last album did not do numbers like this album has done.

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And Sabrina did open for Taylor for a large stretch of the

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Ares tour.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_00]: So you can't,

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_00]: You can't ignore that type of bump.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_00]: This is also notably, I think like the first weekend that

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Taylor Swift didn't release like a new version of the tortured

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_00]: poets department.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm a Charlie Stan.

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't get me started, but you know that discourse.

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, listen, I don't, I'm not a chart watcher.

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not like a Stan or anything unless it's in sync,

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_02]: then I'm watching the charts, but especially recently as you

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_02]: know, but no, I think that,

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that that definitely helped bumper obviously it's

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Taylor Swift at the end of the day.

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_02]: We were looking for Taylor to show up at the fricking DNC this

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_02]: past week with either her Beyonce.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_02]: So like the impact is like, come on now.

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think that does that definitely helps.

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But you know, Espresso is just that girl.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And Espresso has been everywhere this summer.

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Please, please, please has been everywhere this summer and

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_00]: they're both great Bob's.

[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not surprised that she's finally taking off.

[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_00]: But this is, I think her fifth album.

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Because she's like, she's been making up music for 10 years.

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_00]: So it's one of those things where the overnight success takes

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: a very long time to actually happen.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_00]: But anyways, I wanted to talk a little bit about the love

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_00]: triangle.

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Because it's funny to me.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_00]: So basically 2015 to 2019 was Camila Cabello,

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Shawn Mendes dating, posting all of their like super cringe

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_00]: videos of making out where you're like, that's not how

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_00]: people kiss.

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Like that's why I thought they were like, like if you thought her,

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_02]: him and Sabrina were like a PR stunt,

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought him and Camila were have been a PR stunt.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_00]: We all did.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_00]: We literally all did.

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And then I still don't even know.

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_00]: If I think that they weren't a PR stunt at this point in

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_00]: time, but it was just, it went on for so long that it's

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_00]: the kind of thing where like something can start as PR

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_00]: and then real feelings end up happening as well.

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe is probably the most likely explanation.

[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_00]: That's insane.

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_00]: That's like an arranged marriage.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And they work for a lot of people that totally 100%.

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I like one of my best friends, her parents,

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_02]: and we're in a range marriage, beautiful marriage,

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_02]: beautiful people.

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But like that's crazy to think about.

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, so are Camila and Shawn not together anymore?

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure Shawn is married to that like chiropractor

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_00]: like cult person.

[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_00]: What?

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_00]: See, I'm out of it.

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_00]: This is what I mean.

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me confirm.

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me confirm.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: This is how it feels when I come on mess magnets sometimes.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Currently he's not publicly dating anyone,

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_00]: but he has been photographed a lot of times with this 41 year

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_00]: old chiropractor.

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Jocelyn Miranda that people think he's dating who

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_00]: is like,

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I think in something at least cult adjacent.

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_00]: That is insane.

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_00]: That's like a whole other topic for,

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah, it's literally like where Shawn is now is so different

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_00]: from where he started.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But so they dated through 2019 and then they were with

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_00]: each other through COVID lockdowns and broke up in

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_00]: November of 2021 is when they announced it.

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_00]: It's been that long.

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_00]: It's yeah.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's the, that's the initial Shawn and Camilla.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_00]: They did end up getting back together as well.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_00]: But so then we kind of didn't really hear anything about it.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And then in February of 2023,

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_00]: it pops up on Dumois that Shawn Mendes and Sabrina

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Carpenter were spotted on a date at horses.

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And Sabrina was in a little brown mini skirt and Shawn was

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_00]: newly shaved.

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Had a newly shaved head wearing a white sweater and they were

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_00]: very comfortable together.

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And then a few other times they were spotted out and about

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_00]: together walking in LA and just all of that.

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So why are we fighting over a man?

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_02]: It's listen, I mean, is he really all like, okay,

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_02]: is Shawn Mendes really worth it?

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Question mark.

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_02]: He could be.

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: He could be worth him again.

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me Google him again.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I know what he looks like.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me look at it again.

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_02]: No, Kirsten.

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Come on.

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_00]: He's a little young, but like other than that,

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it could be worth it.

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Like all these people are younger than me.

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm like, yeah, I understand.

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Six and one short.

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Come on.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but Sabrina car meters four foot 11.

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Six one is a giant to her.

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_00]: She's short and sweet.

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Literally.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And so then in March or 2023,

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_00]: they attend,

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_00]: they both attend Miley Cyrus's album release party.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: They arrive separately,

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: but they leave together and you literally see he's like on

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_00]: the phone and she like this little twirl before they leave

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_00]: the party together.

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Like they're out and about.

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_00]: They also attended the vanity fair Oscar party together in 2023.

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And then also in March,

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_00]: entertainment tonight published a confirmation that they were

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_00]: in fact dating with like one of those PR statements.

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, they're hanging out a lot.

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Try to keep things low key.

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Crazy.

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_00]: They're happy.

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And this also came out.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And this is why I'm like,

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_00]: oh, the Sabrina stuff is probably fake because this also

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_00]: happened at the same time that he was first spotted with the

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_00]: chiropractor that I told you about,

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_00]: that he's been seen with a lot over the past couple of years.

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_00]: So like it could be to hide that because then the source was

[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_00]: also saying, no, he's never dating Dr. Jocelyn Miranda.

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And it has never been romantic between them.

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that the reason behind that is because of the

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_02]: cult thing, the weird cult thing?

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Or is it just like, let's keep this private.

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to keep my life.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But then why would Sabrina be?

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Sabrina doesn't need that.

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Sabrina in March of 2023 was in a very different position than

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Sabrina in summer 2024.

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_00]: 100%.

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Like fame wise, totally with you, like cloud wise, whatever you

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: want to call it.

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But I just feel like her as a woman.

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't know.

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I just like, she doesn't.

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But like if we look at who she's dated,

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe her picker is broken, you know?

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't like, I don't like Barry, whatever his.

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Kenny.

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean the fact that he like hasn't seen his kid is

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_00]: really troubling to me.

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And then also all that over Joshua Abassett with Olivia

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Rodriguez go no.

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Girl.

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no girl.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Both these women are like up here and you can't see me,

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_02]: but you can guess where my hand is right now.

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_02]: As high as it could be.

[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's to my ceiling.

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And then he's just like, I just think of his like

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_02]: curly.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Can I say the word puke?

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, you just did.

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So let's go.

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's rock with it.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_02]: My guy.

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Anyways,

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Justin Timberlake 2001.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm allowed to say that.

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_02]: The, the ramen noodle hair.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Ramen, you know,

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_02]: which should be fair is how my natural hair texture looks.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So who am I to judge?

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Gorge.

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Gorge.

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Gorge on women.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying what?

[00:18:15] You're the best.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_00]: This also in March or 2023,

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Sean also in an interview stated that he wasn't dating Sabrina,

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's also like who knows.

[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Then April 2023 is when Shawn Mendez and Kamila Cabello were

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_00]: spotted kissing and canoodling at Coachella.

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh,

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_00]: brother.

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And the video went viral of that.

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And the sources were cli-

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And then the source were like, oh,

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_00]: they met up and kissed at Coachella.

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_00]: They were having fun and being in the moment.

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_00]: They're attracted to each other and care about each other a

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_00]: lot.

[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_00]: They're just having fun.

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And so during that time people are like, okay,

[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_00]: well, like Sean and Sabrina was nothing.

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't matter.

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like,

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't mean to throw a stray.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_02]: At Kamila right now because like I said earlier,

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_02]: girlies, why are we fighting over men?

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_02]: You're above that.

[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But like Kamila's vibe.

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Is bad.

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_00]: No,

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_00]: can I just come in?

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a person who literally if you look up Kamila Cabello,

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_00]: one of the first things that comes up is like,

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm in therapy to work on my racism.

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like girl.

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you, she is not a good person.

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_00]: She had like horribly racist posts that tumbler was crazy.

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_00]: The way that she and her fans acted towards Normani was wild.

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And then she comes out and it's like, yeah,

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm in like anti-racism therapy to cure myself.

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And then apparently it just like all got let go.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-mm.

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_00]: She was never in that.

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_00]: They thought it's a good thing to say.

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_02]: What does it mean?

[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand what that means.

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm glad that we don't obviously like,

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_02]: why would we ever know that?

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But like, I'm sure it exists in the world.

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess I really don't know.

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah.

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, listen,

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_00]: we can send straights her way is what I'm saying.

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm with it.

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I feel like if I was with a group of girls,

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't feel comfortable pulling her aside at the club and

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_02]: being like, I'm anxious.

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she's not the one, you know?

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, your main girl said she avoids the ladies restroom

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_00]: at the club.

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_00]: So what's that about?

[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Listen,

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_02]: she just the app in non-law to defend her,

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_02]: but I do think she means like,

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I just want to go take a piss.

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't want to like chit chat with anyone.

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But to be,

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_02]: to be honest, the way that she words it sometimes,

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_02]: the way that she talks a lot,

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_02]: a lot of the time is very like millennial.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she'll get on the internet and be like,

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and just for anyone that's not understanding,

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_02]: we're talking about Charlie XCX here.

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_02]: She'll get on the internet and be like,

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I love my, I love my gaze.

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she'll like, you know,

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_02]: she'll do that like weird thing.

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of like Katy Perry.

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Thankfully she does it better than how Katy Perry did it

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_00]: last week, which are I,

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even put it into the mess magnet thing,

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_00]: but like Katy Perry literally posted last week, like,

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it for the male gaze.

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I do it for the male gaze.

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, ha ha ha.

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So funny.

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like girl weaponizing the LGBTQ.

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_02]: They're, they're not here for you.

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_02]: They're just not maybe some of them are in power to them.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone likes their own thing,

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but yeah, it's very, very,

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_00]: like as a whole,

[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_00]: she wouldn't be on the list of like female divas that

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_00]: generally get a lot of attention from the LGBTQ community.

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_02]: She's no Brittany.

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's leave it at that.

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_02]: He's no Mariah.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Nobody's Brittany.

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Nobody's Mariah and never will be.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_02]: They never know what Janet,

[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_02]: no one's Janet.

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't even try to say that anyone could be.

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Nope.

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I love her.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So back to our timeline.

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We're in spring of 2023.

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So in May of 2023,

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were spotted in New York going

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_00]: on like a ton of dates and all of the,

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess they're called Shaw Mila fans.

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_00]: That's their ship name.

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh God.

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I hate it.

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_00]: That's horrible.

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Please do better.

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but literally by June,

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_00]: it did, they were broken up.

[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_00]: It didn't work out.

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_00]: They broke up again.

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And then in December of 2023,

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Sabrina Carpenter released her Christmas EP,

[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_00]: which is called fruit cake,

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_00]: which has a bunch of kind of like love holiday songs.

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And then she has like the holiday version of nonsense,

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_00]: which is really funny too.

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And she's a funny girl.

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_00]: She's funny.

[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_00]: She's really funny.

[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And so she has a song called Cindy Loohoo.

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: And people think it's about Shawn Mendes because the lyrics

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_00]: say,

[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe he met you somewhere in the desert while he was soul

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_00]: searching.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_00]: He found someone better.

[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Guess you make him happy like I couldn't do Cindy Loohoo

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_00]: with your hair so long, lips so red.

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we met once.

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I forget scrolling five years back.

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm obsessed breaking my heart to the season, I guess.

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So people think that's about the love triangle.

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that this is like clear cut.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_02]: The thing I,

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: the problem I have with like decoding lyrics in pop music

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_02]: today is that people don't know back in the nineties and

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_02]: 2000s, like when the like pop you all know, I mean, listen,

[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_02]: anyone listening to this Kirsten, you know this.

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to bring up the boy band and girl bands like

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: that time the lyrics of boy bands songs are all about

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_02]: relationships.

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_02]: They're all about love.

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_02]: They're all about a person, a girl, a guy, whoever.

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_02]: That's not about anyone specific.

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_02]: It was never really ever about anyone specific.

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just like girl is just about some girl and even like,

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, in St.

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Glantz bass didn't give a shit about a girl, you know, like,

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_02]: so it's just like, it's not about anyone specific.

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So who's to say that that's not carrying over till now?

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it could just be a song about it's just generic.

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?

[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_02]: It could just be a hundred percent.

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think they put,

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I think they put just enough in so that people can decode

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_00]: because again, yeah, not to always bring up miss Swift,

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_00]: but people loved when she would put codes in her album.

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Are like.

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_00]: It would be like capital letters to like tell you who songs

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_00]: were about and so people like that.

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that has had broader impacts where people

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_00]: will kind of hint more.

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's like in Cindy Lou, she says like,

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_00]: oh, maybe he met you somewhere in the desert.

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, okay, I guess that could be about Coachella

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_00]: technically, but whatever.

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like Taylor Swift is great at doing that.

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I feel like that's her thing.

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's very cool.

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm not really a big fan of her music,

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_02]: but I think that's really amazing the way that she does that.

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Get the people talking.

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Listen, I've had my clown make a bond for Reputation.

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Taylor's version for well over a year every single weekend.

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And I still have it on for the VMAs.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, she's going to announce it.

[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_00]: She's probably going to announce another fucking new album

[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_00]: that we've never even heard of.

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's not going to be Rep TV, but it's fine.

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so it could absolutely just be about nothing.

[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I really don't know.

[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_00]: But okay on Camilla's new album this summer,

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_00]: she has a song called June Gloom.

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And this is the one that she was lip syncing to on TikTok.

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And the lyrics go, she's cool.

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I heard won't act surprised.

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I saw the pictures were a house fire for sure.

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Hope it'll burn out, but it just gets bigger.

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_00]: If she's so amazing, why are you on the side of town?

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_00]: If you like her so much, what are you here trying to find out?

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Which like just lyrically,

[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_00]: if we want to compare it to Sabrina's Christmas song,

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_00]: it's lacking.

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean that's come on now.

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But like, could you say the girls are fighting?

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, yeah.

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, when you bring up Taylor Swift,

[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_02]: honestly, you kind of changed my mind a little bit about like,

[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_02]: the well, the boy bands and the 2000s were singing about just generic.

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's not, maybe it's a marketing tactic.

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a good one.

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_00]: If so, regardless, it's definitely working.

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_00]: People are talking about it.

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_00]: It didn't work as well for Camilla because of who she is

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and how she is, but you know what?

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_00]: She's getting a little bit.

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_00]: In July this year, Camilla Cabello and Shawn Mendes

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_00]: were spotted together at a Copa America soccer game in Miami.

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_02]: They are okay.

[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Her Camilla, her team is working overtime, but I don't.

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And when I say that's kind of implying me saying they're doing

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_02]: a good job, I feel like they're not because it's like she's

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_02]: just one of those people.

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she's one of those people in media.

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like you just nothing she's going to do is going

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_02]: to be good and you're going to hate or you love to hate

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_02]: or kind of a thing.

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: It kind of makes me feel about a little bit, not really.

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, just based upon her past and stuff like that,

[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_02]: but like there's nothing that her team can do to make this

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_02]: better.

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So they just throw shit at the wall.

[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of the vibe I'm getting from it.

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think so.

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I think so big time.

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, it is sad.

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's just like a little bit more.

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_00]: So, I think that there's just a little bit more.

[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Sabrina has said in interviews that she called it

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_00]: short and sweet for multiple reasons.

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_00]: One of them is about how some of these relationships are

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_00]: the shortest she's ever had, but they affected her the

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_00]: most, which I do relate to that.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like sometimes those short little situations.

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_00]: It's can get you way more.

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely. Hey, I've, I've been there.

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_02]: We've all been there.

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And so some of the lyrics and short and sweet that seem to

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_00]: align with this are from Sharpas tool.

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_00]: It's, we never talk about how you found God at your ex's house.

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Always made sure that the phone was faced down seems like

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_00]: over now overnight.

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just the bitch you hate now.

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And then in coincidence, she sings what a surprise.

[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Your phone just died.

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Your car drove itself from LA to her thighs.

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Palm Springs looks nice, but who's by your side.

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Damn, she looks kind of like the girl you outgroup.

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I think, I think overall.

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Sabrina is very.

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_02]: She feels very fresh to me.

[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_02]: She feels very.

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But the fresh air.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: She's a funny girl.

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Her lyrics are so.

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Creative.

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And you can tell that she.

[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, obviously there's a writing team involved,

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_02]: but she's writing.

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_02]: She's writing her songs.

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I sent you a couple of lyrics.

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I think yesterday Kirsten of life.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, girl, you, you got me.

[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_02]: You've got a fan in me.

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_02]: You had, she had me before, but now she's really got me.

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And like all of her nonsense outro is on tour when she does a

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_00]: different one every city is so funny.

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'll see compilations of those on tech talk and I'll

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: watch the whole thing,

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: even though I've seen them all before,

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_00]: like they make me laugh every time.

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess in the song,

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_00]: she makes a comment about Jack off to lyrics by Leonard Cohen.

[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And I guess she on Mendez has previously covered Leonard Cohen

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_00]: songs.

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And so that's like a big.

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You strike for everybody.

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_02]: That's.

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a big one for me, I think.

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm getting convinced.

[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And so that's all like the songs I think are like at least

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_00]: lightly alluding to all of that, which is fine.

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Kamala is blonde with bangs now and everyone is just dragging

[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_00]: the hell out of her for trying to be Sabrina Carpenter.

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_00]: She has an Instagram post from August 16th and she's in

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Spain and she's on a boat and she's wearing like a black

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_00]: dress with like a white,

[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_00]: the top of its white and she's like got her arm up in almost

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_00]: exact pose of the cover of the short and sweet album and

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_00]: all of the comments are,

[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_00]: you look like you're working late because you're a singer in

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_00]: the first pick.

[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_00]: She wants to be Sabrina so bad.

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_00]: You're obsessed with Sabrina showing a bit too much on girl,

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_00]: be yourself.

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Stop trying to be Sabrina.

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_00]: It's embarrassing.

[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like all of them.

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_00]: All of them are just like that.

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_00]: One of them says playing obsessed by Olivia Rodrigo,

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_00]: which is funny.

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_00]: That song is phenomenal.

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't listened to it.

[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_02]: That is I'm looking at this post that dress is like

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_02]: uncanny.

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not even like the hair for me.

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the dress that's killing me.

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_00]: it doesn't look the same.

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_00]: She's blonde with bangs,

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_00]: but I tweeted this the other day.

[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like Camila Cabello is conceivably too rich to be

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_00]: looking like her hair is a shake at a shake and go wig

[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_00]: from Party City.

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah.

[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It looks like oily all the time too.

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like dry and oily at the same time.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_02]: The ends are the top like the bangs are like,

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_02]: you know what I mean?

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like when your hair's oily and it separates if you have bangs.

[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I hate that.

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It looks like that, but then the ends are dry.

[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate saying that about another woman,

[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but she needs to go back to black hair.

[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_00]: She has money.

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_00]: She has resources.

[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Like when I go out looking like I'm wearing a Party City wig.

[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, well, I'm not rich.

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't have the resources for endless K 18 treatments and

[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_00]: moisture masks.

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that Camila just really wants to be in that like that,

[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_02]: whatever the album CXOXO, whatever it was called,

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_02]: she thinks that she's like in her spring breakers era.

[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Like that's why everyone's like, oh,

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: you want to be Charlie so bad because that's clearly like Charlie's.

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_02]: She, Charlie literally has a song called spring breakers.

[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's just, you know, like it's not,

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_02]: this is not your,

[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_02]: this is not your vibe Camila.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And if she's soul searching, good for her,

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_02]: but this is not the vibe.

[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I think she needs to go back to the black hair.

[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Literally the first post on her page,

[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_02]: her literal icon is a dog and like a spring breakers mask aesthetic.

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't.

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's a bit much.

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a bit.

[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Um,

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and like,

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_00]: like she wants to be blonde again.

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_00]: She has all of the resources to do that.

[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But better than this.

[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just embarrassing to me personally.

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Diet black.

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_02]: That's my, that's my model.

[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_00]: When did she last have dark hair?

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to scroll back through her Instagram because it's been

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_00]: blonde for a while.

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_02]: It's definitely been a minute.

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it's kind of like Ariana where I don't think,

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_02]: wait, all her posts are gone.

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_02]: She's just blonde in all of them.

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like that.

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_00]: She's, she's a very beautiful girl.

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_00]: But like, yes, she is.

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_00]: She's stunning.

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And even like,

[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_00]: if you go back in like the first pictures when she was blonde,

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_00]: it doesn't look like that.

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think she got over processed at one point.

[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So I feel bad for her.

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I like, listen, I've been there.

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_00]: That's unfortunate.

[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.

[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I still don't think it looks good.

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not great.

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, it's not the best.

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not Sabrina Carpenter's hair.

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Sabrina Carpenter's hair is like her hair could be insured for

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_00]: $10,000.

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_00]: That is the one.

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I saw someone post on Twitter recently that was like money

[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_00]: couldn't buy Sabrina Carpenter's hair.

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And it was like no money literally did buy it.

[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_00]: What are you talking about?

[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I feel like that's the thing too.

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of us need to be considering because a lot of these

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_00]: celebrities have this long, luscious, beautiful hair.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And we're like, Oh, well, we've seen them with like a slick back.

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_00]: They can't possibly have extensions.

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_00]: No, those K bond extensions will trick you every time.

[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_00]: There's no clips.

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_00]: There is no glue.

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It just, the hair just shuts out naturally and then you get new

[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_00]: hair.

[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_00]: That is not.

[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to learn how to do those.

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to buy this stuff on Amazon and learn how to do

[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_00]: those extensions.

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, update me.

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I love hair stuff.

[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_00]: When all my hair falls out, all of it.

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't scare me now.

[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be like, help me pick a wig.

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm bald.

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Even more fun.

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But yes, okay.

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_00]: That is everything about short and sweet.

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you have a favorite song from the album that you want to

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_00]: share?

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_00]: If people are going to listen to one song.

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_02]: My favorite song off the album is bed.

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I sent this to you.

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I might have.

[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you did.

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm hmm.

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that one.

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It's very great.

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_02]: It's very like sexy, but like fun and still funny.

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like all of the songs, there's like some humor in it.

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't really get that.

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Pop artists.

[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Not much anymore.

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_00]: So I love it.

[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_00]: She kind of gives the same like singing about sex vibe Ariana

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Grande gives, but like she makes it funny.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And so it doesn't feel quite the same.

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Not that I, and not that I have anything against Ariana.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I love her too.

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Mm hmm.

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I, I love all of them.

[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I love the whole album.

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I think good graces is my favorite.

[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_00]: If I was going to recommend one song for people to listen to.

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So go check out bed cam and good graces if you don't have time

[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_00]: to listen to the whole album, even though again, it's 36

[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_00]: minutes.

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_00]: We literally talked about it for the duration basically of

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_00]: the album.

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Pink Panther has a squaking.

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_02]: With her short ass songs and all of them.

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Amazing.

[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's move on to the next.

[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, Miss chapel.

[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Ron has been in the press a little bit lately.

[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I thought we could talk about that.

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, have you listened to a chapel Ron yet?

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_00]: It's okay if you say no.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly.

[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_02]: No, but not.

[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, okay.

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I've heard it and I, and it really, I wasn't driving

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_02]: with it.

[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I can see the talent there.

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not like, I'm like, oh, this sucks.

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I would never say that, but like, I think it's just

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_02]: like not really for me.

[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not only my vibe.

[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I could be wrong.

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, I've done this multiple times where I go back and I listen.

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I used to not like, for example, Kendrick Lamar,

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_02]: like back in 2013 or so, I was like, I don't vibe with him.

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like him.

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And now he's like.

[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_02]: My top in my top three artists period of all time.

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So it could happen.

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it can happen.

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It's I, I haven't lost hope.

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I love her.

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but that's lovely.

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's lovely.

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_00]: There's all kinds of different pop girlies to be rooting for

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_00]: right now, which is so beautiful.

[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but so she put some TikToks recently just basically

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_00]: complaining about fans being weird, fans feeling entitled

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_00]: to photos with her when she's not in like a meet and

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_00]: greet situation.

[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I also listened to her on drew.

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, what's her last name?

[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Drew, if you'll low.

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_00]: She's great.

[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_00]: She's wonderful.

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And they basically their whole conversation was like,

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_00]: chapel is talking about missing, being able to go to the

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_00]: movies, missing, being able to like be messy in public and

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00]: like really struggling with having this.

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Same because she.

[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Got extremely famous really fast.

[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_00]: It was a truly meteoric rise.

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that she kind of always intended to be.

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, quote unquote.

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Gay famous, which is what she said on the podcast.

[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And now she's like mainstream.

[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Mm hmm.

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And so it's a bit more than what she anticipated.

[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, and so it's just a lot.

[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And she just wants people to be normal with her fans have

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_00]: like found her family's address and gone to her house and

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_00]: stuff like that.

[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_00]: So like fans have been acting not normal.

[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I also think it's fine if like a celebrity does

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_00]: not want to take a picture with you or really talk to you in

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: public.

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you see someone and it seems like a good situation to

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_00]: go up and say hello, sure.

[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Mm hmm.

[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Go say hi, but if they're not into it or they don't want to

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_00]: take a picture, like that's fine because they're just

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_00]: people and they're allowed to have boundaries.

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's all she's asking for.

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, I've seen this whole saga play out.

[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it's kind of, I'll say this, I'm kind

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_02]: of tired of hearing about it.

[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Just not.

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not even her fault that I'm hearing about it.

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just the fucking discourse around.

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything has to be discourse these days.

[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like literally has, she is simply asking or sorry, she's

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_02]: simply stating her boundaries and nobody, I don't care who

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_02]: you are if you're Beyonce, you're the president.

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're, I don't care who it is.

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_02]: You are entitled to your space as a human and other.

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me say this.

[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Other people are not entitled to you, you know, in your time

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and your space and your body and your whatever you want to

[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_02]: say.

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like that is your choice to make about your.

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Space, your body, literally what you do in your life.

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, so she made these tick tocks and people

[00:39:30] [SPEAKER_00]: immediately started going into, wow, she's not cut out

[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_00]: to be famous.

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, this is no one.

[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow.

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Look at this video of someone being really nice with

[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_00]: her fans.

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_00]: That's what everyone should be like.

[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Look at this video of Taylor Swift when she was 19, blah,

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_00]: blah, blah.

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, uh, meanwhile, Taylor's of troubles in a

[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_00]: frickin suitcase now sometimes and like in a janitor's cart

[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_00]: to come out to her show so no one sees her before she goes

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_00]: on stage.

[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_00]: So like maybe things have changed since she was 19.

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_00]: But like, it just ridiculous.

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_00]: The discourse came into like an absolute fever pitch.

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, and so it's actually been six days.

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Chapel made an Instagram post just talking about how

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_00]: she's been going nonstop to build her project and it's

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_00]: come to the time that she needs to draw lines and set

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_00]: boundaries.

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_00]: And she's been in too many non consensual physical and

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_00]: social interactions and just wants to lay it out.

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Women don't owe you shit.

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_00]: She loves music and art and honoring her inner child.

[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_00]: She does not accept harassment of any kind because

[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_00]: she chose this path.

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't deserve it.

[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, and she talks about how it's different when

[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_00]: she's on stage performing, when she's in her

[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_00]: drag, when she's at a work event or doing press,

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_00]: when she's not in the situation, she's not at work and

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_00]: it's.

[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And she's clocked out and she does not agree with the notion

[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_00]: that she owes this attention to people when she's not at

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_00]: work.

[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And she is talking specifically about predatory behavior

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_00]: that has been disguised as like super fan behavior that

[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_00]: has become normalized, um, with women who are well known

[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_00]: because they get treated poorly in the past.

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Um,

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and she said, she embraces the success of her project

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_00]: and she feels gratitude, but she does not accept creepy

[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_00]: people being touched or being followed.

[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Uh,

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_00]: what's saying the situation is similar to the idea that if a

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_00]: woman wears a short skirt and gets harassed or cat called,

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_00]: she shouldn't have worn the short skirt in the first place.

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not the woman's duty to suck it up and take it is a

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_00]: harassers duty to be a decent person, leave her alone or

[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_00]: expect that she can wear whatever she wants and still

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_00]: deserve peace in this world.

[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And she just says, please stop touching me.

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Please stop being weird to my family and friends.

[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Please stop assuming things about me.

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm scared and tired.

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like that's not a big ask.

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, I think it's really not.

[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_02]: People are taking it a certain way because she's,

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_02]: she's asking it.

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean? Like it's, it's, um,

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: or addressing it at all.

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I feel like, like, like famously Beyonce does

[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_02]: not really, she's not in the public eye.

[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_02]: If you think about it, surely you'll see her sometimes,

[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_02]: but like she doesn't talk to her fans.

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It's, it's, it's widely known.

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like a joke on Twitter.

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, oh, B,

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_02]: B doesn't go beyond say hates us.

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It hates us.

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she gives us nothing.

[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, and,

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and I feel like yes, people will bring it up and say,

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_02]: like, I wish she wasn't like that.

[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh diva.

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure there's people that say that,

[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_02]: but I feel like it's more widely accepted because Beyonce

[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_02]: is just mute about it.

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And like she's perfectly in her right to do that.

[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's how she wants to go about it,

[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_02]: but Chappell's also perfectly in her right to go about it

[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_02]: in this way.

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And keeping in mind there's a huge rise to fame here.

[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_02]: When I saw those like crowds,

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I was genuinely confused.

[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, who is this?

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I was literally the,

[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_02]: who is that?

[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I was very confused.

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_02]: How did that lullaby lose of all time?

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Insane.

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, this looks like, like, like, um, Woodstock.

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, what is going on here?

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_02]: She is the moment.

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And so people need to empathize a little bit with.

[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Because like people were, like you said earlier,

[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_02]: people were saying, well, she doesn't know how to be famous.

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to like what she's not cut out for this.

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_02]: No one is cut out for this.

[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_02]: No one on the planet.

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't care who you are.

[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't care if you're Beyonce or the president.

[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I said earlier, you are not cut out for fame.

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not a normal thing humans should go through.

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just not.

[00:43:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I like, and literally,

[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I think you'll probably relate to this as well.

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like we're podcasters on like,

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_00]: not the hugest podcast network in the world.

[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_00]: We're not famous in the world.

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_00]: We operate as the regular ass people that we are,

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_00]: but there's one room in the world where we're like

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_00]: recognized or unknown entity.

[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's at like.

[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_00]: R. H. A. P. events.

[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And those that room can be extremely overwhelming.

[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Even though like the podcast fans are super nice and nobody's

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_00]: acting weird, but even then that's overwhelming.

[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't imagine if people were recognizing me on the street.

[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I had a, I had a situation.

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm, I think I'm okay to share this.

[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not anything sensitive, but I was at work and I had a

[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_02]: colleague that was hired recently at the time who I hadn't

[00:44:18] [SPEAKER_02]: been coming into the office.

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So I had not met in person, but I met them in person.

[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And they were like, Oh yeah, like I know who you are.

[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And I thought that it was because of me working at my job,

[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but they were absolutely lovely.

[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And they said, no, I'm actually like a huge R. H. A. P.

[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_02]: fan and I've been listening for years and I like love your

[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_02]: work on there.

[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was very shook by that.

[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I was very taken aback by that.

[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Not in a bad way, of course, because they were absolutely

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_02]: lovely. Like I said, but like, it's not something a person

[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_02]: is going to get used to, you know?

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And so imagine.

[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And again, like to be so clear, not comparing ourselves to

[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_00]: actual famous people.

[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_00]: We're literally just two girls.

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_00]: We're just girls.

[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_00]: One room in the world where people would know who we are.

[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's weird.

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_00]: So if people in every room knew who we are, I couldn't

[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_00]: imagine how that would feel.

[00:45:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw some people saying like, well, she's not even

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_02]: that famous.

[00:45:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, okay, is that a read?

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Is that the moment?

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Is this the moment for you to like get your read off?

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you didn't, you're stupid.

[00:45:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. It's like, okay, we get it.

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't like her and you have to be like rude about it.

[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Fine, whatever.

[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't care for her care about her music, but I'm

[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_02]: still just like a person about it.

[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Just again, I'm constantly saying why have people lost

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_00]: the ability to act normal?

[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Where did it go?

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I think they never had it.

[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I know, but I feel like before most of us would at

[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_00]: least like pretend to be normal most of the time.

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And now I feel nobody's pretending ever.

[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, what happened to like tact?

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_00]: The other last little bit of news with Chappell Rone is

[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_00]: as of, I believe this morning she canceled a few of her

[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_00]: European tour dates that are in literally a month and

[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_00]: moved some other ones around and because of quote

[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_00]: scheduling conflicts.

[00:46:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So people are upset about that.

[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_00]: They think it might be because she's performing at the

[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_00]: VMAs and won't be able to do her tour dates that she's

[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_00]: committed to.

[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Not a great look, but I also don't, she's not like one

[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_00]: person who gets to make all these decisions for herself.

[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just like feeling bad for the fans who maybe

[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_00]: have travel plans and can't get refunds.

[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Two things can be true at once.

[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, she's allowed to have her boundaries and

[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_02]: be vocal about them and I support that.

[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But also this does suck and I feel for the fans.

[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I just, all it goes back to is in 2011,

[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I was supposed to see Andrew McMahon in the

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_00]: wilderness and the Academy as this opening for him.

[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And the Academy is one of my all time favorite bands

[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_00]: of all time and they literally broke up two

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_00]: weeks before they were supposed to come to Calgary

[00:47:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and didn't come.

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And I like literally got into a fight with the lead

[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_00]: singer on Tumblr about it.

[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm not kidding.

[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I was in his comment, I was fighting with William Beckett

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_00]: about it.

[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you make use of the contract.

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Like he's like, we just couldn't do it anymore.

[00:47:19] [SPEAKER_00]: We just couldn't make it work.

[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, it's a two month tour.

[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck?

[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I should have gotten Justin Timberlake's ass back

[00:47:26] [SPEAKER_01]: in the day girl.

[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Like if you had had access to get him on Tumblr,

[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_00]: you would have.

[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I just remember that feeling and how upset I was.

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I do really feel for the fans that aren't going to get to see her

[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_00]: now because it's only going to get harder and harder to get

[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_00]: concert tickets.

[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, we'll see about that.

[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Levina, are you a fan of the movie Beetlejuice?

[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I have never seen it.

[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God, it's fine.

[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, I'm the weakest link.

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Goodbye.

[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine.

[00:48:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I actually hadn't seen it for a long time and only a couple

[00:48:06] [SPEAKER_00]: of years ago.

[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Watch it for the first time.

[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And now it's like a tradition for me to watch it in the fall

[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_00]: because I like it a lot.

[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So the sequel is coming out literally this weekend.

[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_00]: They called it Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, which is very funny.

[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[00:48:22] [SPEAKER_00]: That's so fun.

[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And so there's been just like a little bit of drama and stuff on

[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the press tour.

[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_00]: We won't touch on it for too long, but there was an article

[00:48:29] [SPEAKER_00]: with Winona Ryder basically where she's talking about how much

[00:48:33] [SPEAKER_00]: she loved working with Jenna Ortega, second mention of the

[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_00]: podcast, because Ortega like her scenes to shots from like

[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_00]: 1964 films and like Jenna Ortega just like really loves film

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_00]: and so does she.

[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And she loved connecting with her on that.

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But the article really gives the impression that like the

[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_00]: young people she worked with on Stranger Things maybe did not

[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_00]: enjoy movies in that way and she didn't like it.

[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_00]: She said, I don't mean to sound so hopeless.

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_00]: There are a few that are just not interested in movies.

[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like the first thing they say is how long is it?

[00:49:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Which girl, that's me.

[00:49:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And the only person she cleared with Finn Wolfhard is obsessed

[00:49:14] [SPEAKER_00]: with Elliot Gould.

[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think there was also another quote that I can't find

[00:49:19] [SPEAKER_00]: right now where she maybe implies that she didn't like

[00:49:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Millie Bobby Brown.

[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like Millie Bobby Brown gets like really bad.

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Press.

[00:49:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I hate what was done to her.

[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_00]: It's the way people acted towards her was crazy.

[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Like her name is attached to such weird things like Drake.

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And then also there's that whole meme of her on the

[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_02]: internet being like homophobic and she was like, that is

[00:49:54] [SPEAKER_02]: really not funny anymore.

[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And it never was like I just feel for her and she was like

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_02]: a child at the time.

[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't even think she was like 18 when people were like

[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_02]: doing those like memes of like her running over like gay

[00:50:08] [SPEAKER_02]: people or whatever.

[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it was like gay Twitter doing that and stuff,

[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_02]: but she was like, it's not funny at all.

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So like I feel for her.

[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think that when Nona is a vibe for this is very like

[00:50:21] [SPEAKER_02]: these kids just don't understand back in my day.

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the vibe.

[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, they'll they just don't care about it.

[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_02]: They just want like, I don't know.

[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_02]: It kind of reminds me of like, and like maybe I'm reaching here.

[00:50:35] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like more watching Big Brother and more like they'll

[00:50:38] [SPEAKER_02]: never understand BB six.

[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_02]: They'll never understand BB 10.

[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_02]: These days don't care about the show.

[00:50:45] [SPEAKER_02]: They just want to get on there for cloud.

[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_02]: That's like the vibe I'm getting from her.

[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_00]: It is very much like old man yells like cloud energy.

[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's that is us.

[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And but you know what also?

[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Movies didn't used to be so fucking long either.

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_00]: It would be like, oh, we're going to the movie.

[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's two hours of my life.

[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Not.

[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm going to movies.

[00:51:08] [SPEAKER_00]: The movie itself is three and a half hours.

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Plus we have to get there early and all that.

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, come on.

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And then Jen Artegas had like all of her alphabets.

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_00]: But all the red carpets has been like from the initial

[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_00]: movie, which we don't have to get into it because you haven't seen

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the link.

[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, but it's very iconic.

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm seeing it.

[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my.

[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_00]: It would not open for me when I tried to open it.

[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_00]: That was crazy.

[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me open it incognito.

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there we go.

[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I think there's like a rise in that since Barbie because

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_02]: like the way that the way that Margot Robbie did that.

[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yep.

[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_02]: But I also feel like we're seeing the rise also because

[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_02]: there's so many remakes and sequels coming out these days.

[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_02]: But regardless, I'm if give us more fashion, I'm into it.

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Love it.

[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_00]: She also did a puppy interview on YouTube, which is like where

[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_00]: you're playing with puppies while they ask you questions.

[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And so they asked her about a rumor that she's in a serious

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_00]: relationship with Johnny Depp, which by the way,

[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_00]: uh,

[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Denna or Tega is 21 years old.

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So that would be extremely weird if it were true.

[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And she just said, I don't know that person.

[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was iconic.

[00:52:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Live your truth girl.

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I would say the same thing.

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I would be so annoyed if I was a celebrity and everyone just

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_02]: asks me all the time about like other celebrity men.

[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Are you dating this person?

[00:52:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Who are you dating?

[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like give it a rest.

[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Ask about my film.

[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Please ask about my work.

[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Ask about anything else.

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:52:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Ask about the queer baiting in the Sabrina Carpenter

[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_00]: music video.

[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[00:52:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just a little bit more like a little bit more of a

[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_00]: The boy is mine better.

[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_00]: So true.

[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but yeah, so that's just listen, Beeljuice.

[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Beeljuice is coming out this week.

[00:52:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And I will probably go see it in the theater.

[00:53:01] [SPEAKER_03]: So all before back.

[00:53:03] [SPEAKER_00]: It's very fault guy.

[00:53:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I was we're getting into it now.

[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It's, I still think it's a little early considering it's

[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_00]: like just about to be September, but it's fine.

[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll accept it.

[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I do have a couple of quick bites for you.

[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Um,

[00:53:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Aubrey Plaza did an interview with the Wall Street Journal

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and she revealed that she hasn't actually seen her own

[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_00]: performance in the white lotus season two because she doesn't

[00:53:28] [SPEAKER_00]: know her max pass.

[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_00]: She's very real for that.

[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_02]: She never told to reset it.

[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_02]: She never got a one use sign in code.

[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Kristen, are you telling me that when you're Hulu automatically

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_02]: logs itself out on your Apple TV or your laptop,

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_02]: you don't get pissed off.

[00:53:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And then just say, I'm not dealing with it.

[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And then months go by and you're like, Oh, I still haven't dealt

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_02]: with that.

[00:53:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I get mad, but I also get logged back in because I,

[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_00]: if there's one thing about me, I'm going to watch my shows.

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh God, when don't let one know to write her this,

[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_02]: because she's like, she doesn't care about film or TV.

[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[00:54:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, when no writer would hate me because I would first and

[00:54:16] [SPEAKER_00]: foremost ask her about shoplifting if I ever met her.

[00:54:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And second of all, I will ask how long a movie is before I'll

[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_00]: agree to see it.

[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_00]: As you should.

[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_00]: It's who I am.

[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Um,

[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_00]: there was also a very heartwarming story that Madison beer was

[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_00]: in Singapore and she needed to get her nails done.

[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And she got her nails done by this nail tech in Singapore.

[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And she like heard the, she had like seen us.

[00:54:45] [SPEAKER_00]: The like nail tech posted a story that was like,

[00:54:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I had considered moving back to a tiny office space and

[00:54:51] [SPEAKER_00]: starting fresh,

[00:54:51] [SPEAKER_00]: but I did my best to pull through and now luck is shining on

[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_00]: me because Madison beer DM me to do her nails. Oh my God.

[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And so she did Madison's nails.

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And Madison beer paid for her rent for the month in her nail

[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_00]: studio.

[00:55:05] [SPEAKER_00]: And now because of like Madison beer posting her nails,

[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_00]: this person's like business has really taken off because it

[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_00]: seems like she is really good as well and makes a really good

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_00]: product.

[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And she just needed like that visibility boost.

[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's so sweet and cute.

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that I've heard nothing but good things every time

[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I hear about Madison beer.

[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like her time is coming.

[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it might be here and we're just like a little bit

[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_00]: too old to be on the cutting edge of it.

[00:55:35] [SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, like her Sabrina Carpenter moment,

[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_02]: like, like what is everyone's always like,

[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes, yes, yes.

[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_02]: With her espresso.

[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_02]: This should have been her espresso.

[00:55:42] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I feel like that's coming.

[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It could be coming for sure.

[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I have to admit, I don't know if I know any Madison

[00:55:48] [SPEAKER_00]: beer songs at all.

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, I don't think I do either.

[00:55:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And boomer.

[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_00]: That's okay.

[00:55:55] [SPEAKER_00]: We're in our boomer era.

[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.

[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been here.

[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You also mentioned earlier about the DNC situation last week,

[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and I did just want to point it out like Tamzy said Beyonce

[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_00]: was going to be there and then nobody was there.

[00:56:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's the thing where they like had someone,

[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_00]: but they weren't as big as Beyonce and then they pulled out

[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_00]: because they didn't want to disappoint people.

[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Damn.

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_02]: That's like, but then who would that even be though?

[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, I don't know.

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_00]: It's tough because they're like, Oh,

[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_00]: you thought the Oprah surprise was big.

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Wait till you see what's coming.

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And then.

[00:56:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, who do you think like maybe like Megan the stallion?

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But I've like, I mean, Megan's big, but it's not,

[00:56:33] [SPEAKER_02]: she's not as big as Beyonce.

[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't, I really don't know.

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like, I feel like they just made something up.

[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Someone made something up and they ran with it.

[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_00]: It also could just be fake.

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_00]: There's also been like a lot more Blake lively PR,

[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_00]: but I just didn't want to touch on it because it's been

[00:56:53] [SPEAKER_00]: all we talked about the last two weeks, but allegedly there will be no

[00:56:57] [SPEAKER_00]: sequel to it ends with us because Blake lively and Justin

[00:57:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Beldoni will likely not ever work together again.

[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Because they hate each other so much.

[00:57:05] [SPEAKER_02]: That stuff's crazy.

[00:57:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I yeah, I have barely followed that.

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that people are saying some wild stuff about like lively.

[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_00]: But Blake lively has some wild stuff about Blake.

[00:57:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_00]: It's tough to say, but people are mostly not really talking about the movie anymore.

[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_00]: There's just like a couple of like lively PR pieces that are definitely from her

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_00]: team to try and win people back over after the past couple of weeks.

[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And like as is her right.

[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I do find her and Ryan Reynolds kind of annoying though.

[00:57:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I like thought they were endearing and in the last like year and a half

[00:57:43] [SPEAKER_00]: or so I found them more annoying over time.

[00:57:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Agreed.

[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like a couple of that's trying to be funny.

[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And they're not and they're not and that's just the way it is.

[00:57:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_00]: We're almost to the end.

[00:57:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Are you ready for an anonymous?

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm always ready.

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_00]: This anonymous, I think is actually high key really crazy.

[00:58:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm excited for it.

[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It's one of our newer submissions.

[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_00]: So thank you to our messenger for submitting.

[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And so our messenger has two colleagues that we're going to call

[00:58:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Olivia and Denise.

[00:58:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And they have a minor work rivalry.

[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, I love this already.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_00]: It's nothing.

[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_00]: That's a big deal.

[00:58:26] [SPEAKER_00]: They just disagree on a few things, but they're always professional about it.

[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Then things got a little weird.

[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Out of the blue,

[00:58:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Olivia started receiving text messages from an unknown number that

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_00]: were very long and detailed diatribes that had a deep knowledge of

[00:58:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Olivia's work life.

[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And the intense soon became clear because they would start saying things

[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_00]: like you're a snobby stuck up bitch.

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you ever disrespect Denise again, I'll make sure you pay.

[00:58:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God.

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_00]: That's terrifying.

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And so we have several messages over the course of a few hours

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_00]: and was like hours.

[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Hours.

[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Hours.

[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought you were going to say like weeks.

[00:59:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh no.

[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Can you hear me?

[00:59:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_00]: All of a sudden I couldn't hear anything and I was like, oh no, it's over.

[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And no, you're fine.

[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_00]: It's really normal.

[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll leave it in.

[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Hi guys.

[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Hi everyone.

[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_00]: So the next day,

[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Olivia did some digging and figured out that the phone number

[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_00]: belonged to Denise's sister because they had both been part

[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_00]: of a group text months ago to attend an event outside of work,

[00:59:40] [SPEAKER_00]: which is how the sister found Olivia's phone number.

[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Messy.

[00:59:46] [SPEAKER_00]: To send that stuff like that from a text where they like have your

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_00]: number is truly insane.

[00:59:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So Olivia didn't respond to the texts and she came to work the

[00:59:55] [SPEAKER_00]: next day and noticed that Denise was actually like nothing

[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_00]: had happened.

[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So Olivia told her supervisor about the texts and HR got

[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_00]: involved.

[01:00:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Good.

[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_00]: As yeah, this is crazy.

[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So Denise got called into a meeting and was questioned about the

[01:00:08] [SPEAKER_00]: incident.

[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And she had no idea that her sister was threatening Olivia.

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_00]: She had vented to her sister about a minor work disagreement.

[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And her sister took it upon herself to start harassing Olivia

[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and Denise was completely embarrassed.

[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Do we believe that?

[01:00:24] [SPEAKER_00]: That's up for debate.

[01:00:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So Denise must have told their sister to stop because there

[01:00:29] [SPEAKER_00]: haven't been any more messages and Olivia chose not

[01:00:31] [SPEAKER_00]: to pursue any action.

[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And so, okay.

[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Our messenger is like, Oh, it's wild to think you could believe

[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_00]: you're harmlessly venting to your sibling and then they start

[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_00]: threatening your work colleagues and put your career in danger.

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And it has definitely made things more awkward between Olivia

[01:00:45] [SPEAKER_00]: and Denise with Olivia having to walk on eggshells and fear

[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_00]: what Denise might share with her sister.

[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, what's the moral of the story here?

[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that I believe.

[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_00]: That Denise's sister would just send that.

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I agree.

[01:00:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I feel like maybe there was drinking.

[01:01:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, you, we should together use your phone number.

[01:01:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Kind of a thing.

[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But then it's like just like what you said,

[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_02]: like a real phone number you're using.

[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're going to do that, get like a text app.

[01:01:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we've all seen catfish, right?

[01:01:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Like catfish, you know, like if anything,

[01:01:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not condoning this, but you would think.

[01:01:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:01:25] [SPEAKER_00]: It just seems so sloppy.

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And like I've vented to my sister about work stuff in the

[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: past and I don't think she would ever conceive of taking any other

[01:01:38] [SPEAKER_00]: act.

[01:01:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's just wild to me.

[01:01:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.

[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't think I believe that Denise's blame was on this one.

[01:01:44] [SPEAKER_00]: No, certainly not.

[01:01:47] [SPEAKER_00]: But I guess maybe not.

[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, did they ever figure it out?

[01:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: No, like it's just, they have an awkward and even more

[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: awkward work situation now because Olivia is scared of what

[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Denise will tell her sister.

[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I also am like, there had to be more.

[01:02:07] [SPEAKER_00]: To the initial conflict as well for it to like turn into this.

[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so that's what I want to know.

[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I think the real moral of the story is like,

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_00]: you shouldn't care about your work like that when you're not at work.

[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like who among us has not had like a weird, oh yeah,

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I can tell I don't really like mess with this person outside of

[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_02]: these four walls thing at work.

[01:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I definitely have, but you know, I it's, it's just, that's,

[01:02:36] [SPEAKER_02]: it's kind of like, it's just, that's how life works.

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like a social in your social space.

[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_02]: You're not going to connect with every person there.

[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So you're right.

[01:02:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I do think that there is something that we don't know or maybe

[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: like the writer, the, the message.

[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know either.

[01:02:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just so curious.

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought this was so crazy.

[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: If I start getting threatening messages about my conduct at

[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: work.

[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, girl.

[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_02]: That is yeah.

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I had a colleague once where I was like,

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: feel like she doesn't like me and I feel like I'm doing everything

[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I can to like make sure like we're cool because we're like on

[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_02]: like direct team.

[01:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: This is like a long time ago.

[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, it was just like a,

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_02]: unfollowed me on Instagram.

[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I like never figured out what happened.

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It would, it was just like a weird thing.

[01:03:25] [SPEAKER_02]: But actually recently I like saw her somewhere and we

[01:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: like connected and like had a conversation and it was chill.

[01:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So maybe it was just like a time and place thing.

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, but all to say it happens at work,

[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: but not to that extent.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_00]: No, exactly.

[01:03:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:03:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You're never going to get along with everybody,

[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_00]: but like I personally am never going to send threatening

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_00]: text messages.

[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, it's just tough to say.

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so that, that is our great anonymous today.

[01:03:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much to our messenger for sending that in deeply
