And full disclosure, this podcast was scheduled just kind of like Sasha will come if she's available, but like if she needs to be jetlagged, then that's also okay. True. And then there's also like some news that Haley's an expert in.

[00:01:28] So we had to bring in an expert for that. I like that you also say like Sasha was out of town. She was on a weekend trip to Nathana. No, she was literally across the globe. Like, traverse the globe. Globetrotter. They are tired. First of all, no one ever invite me to nothing else. Like, I'm not leaving my house. My 2025 resolution. That's what she says. She's going to be traveling once a month at least for the rest of the year, let's be clear.

[00:01:57] Literally makes my stomach hurt. Even it's what you've been doing since I met you. Exactly. And I've decided no more. Hell no. I don't believe you. No one invite me to your weddings. No one invite me to nothing. I already have six weddings this year. Don't know how that happened. But yeah, she's not leaving her house. Interesting. The math is not happening. They're mostly in the Bay Area. So we're good. Well, but and there's one that I will both be at. There's two. There's two. Yeah.

[00:02:28] But we know and I will be about planes. Great. My stomach's already hurting. I know I did get invited guys. I not to like come on the pod and start bitching, but I love birthdays. It came in my own birthday. I'm an only period. And as yeah, and a cancer. So anyway, I got invite. No, I got invited. I am told I have to go to two weddings on the same day.

[00:02:57] June 27th day after my birthday in India. Huh? Yeah, exactly. How are you? That's possible. I'm waiting for one day. What do you mean? Yeah. And they're my husband's first cousin. So like we have to like, it's not like we're not going. Are you going to teleport? No. What do you mean? Very sad. Where you like got to like run between. See, yeah, apparently we're going to do like half day.

[00:03:26] My husband and I are going to go to one wedding and then the other half him and his parents are going to switch. Like, wow. I have a question. Did they like are these two couples like not in the same circle at all? No. One is funny enough. My husband's dad side and one is the mom side. Right. But I mean anonymous, but one side. I won't name names knew about the other wedding. That's right.

[00:03:55] And knew that we were attending and supposed to go to this one. And they say, oh, shucks. It's still happening. Wow. And in that situation, you're still obligated to go to both. You can't just be like, oh, well, I already RSVP'd to one. You have to do them both. Yeah. I get it. That's demonic. Yeah. I get it. Right. You know, it's like, it's a, it's a thing. It's what it is, what it is.

[00:04:21] But I'm like for the second couple to literally know that these are all arranged marriages. You must remember. Fair. And all like scheduled around like auspicious times on the calendar. So it was either that day or three weeks after. So am I going to be in South India for three weeks? I don't guys. I'm gonna get pregnant. So I can't. That's. That's.

And it's one of the worst shows I've ever watched in my life. And it's a point of view. I will watch every episode until the day I die. It's the most aesthetic show on television. And as a Libra that really appeals to the most. Unserious. Yes.

[00:06:44] My ex's mom used to say that I look like is it Lily Collins? Okay, I see that. Yeah, I don't like she used to always say that I look like her. I was like just because we have eyebrows like I don't know. I was literally just gonna say like it's it's the bold eyebrows for sure. Yeah, but Lily Collins is a good comparison. You know who I used to always get compared to and this is not a joke. The star woman. No, the star of my big fat Greek wedding.

You do not look like. No, you're the like makeover we beg because unless if it's not I'm fighting them. I see I've been compared to literally every blonde woman alive my entire life,

[00:07:40] regardless of if we have even a pass it like I didn't you know what I think that's fair. I think how many people will just be like they would go to like Sasha and be like you look like every like Indian girl, whether you do or not right. I'm not even that many. Well, but like I'm sure that people have done that sort of like microaggression to you. So, you know what if I am going to get compared to every white blonde woman. That's my cross the bear. I won't complain. Oh, my God.

[00:08:10] Okay, should we get into some of this mess? Yeah. Okay, so Haley is here because I literally texted her that today and I said can you explain to me what's going on with this Matt and Rachel stuff from the bachelor. And she sent me a few voice notes, which was so sweet and kind and I was like wait, what are you doing? Can you just come and tell us on the podcast because this cake. This is crazy. I knew it was crazy before I got the explanation.

[00:08:37] But basically, there's some social media drama with Matt James and Rachel Kirkconnell from this. So I don't remember what season of the bachelor but it's the one from like 2021 right Haley. So this isn't as a bachelor was interesting for a number of different reasons. So it was like our first season that was I guess it was the second season that was produced like during covid.

[00:09:03] But it went into the season planning to be produced during covid. They filmed at the Nima Collin Resort in Pennsylvania. And Matt James was also the first black bachelor ever. And that again, it took them 20 years like shame on them. But also it it broke the formula that we're usually taking somebody who was on the previous season of the bachelorette and making them the lead.

[00:09:33] Matt James was never on the show before, but he was. Yeah, but he was Tyler Cameron's best friend. So Tyler Cameron came in second place on Hannah Brown season. They were best friends. Matt. So that's kind of how Matt James got in. No, no, no, I'm just kidding. No, but that's actually crazy because they're like, OK, it's time for the first black bachelor.

[00:09:55] Just completely ignoring all of the like amazing black men who've been on the show in the past, who then got treated like absolute shit. Like just just like one further, like screw you to all of them. That's crazy. So and then that season also ended in like a little bit of an odd way. Um, so we get to the end and Matt James picks Rachel. Um, but they don't get engaged. Matt says he's not ready for it.

[00:10:24] Rachel's like, OK, like I want to be with you. Um, like I'm happy to be together. But by the reunion, they were broken up because. There had been stuff that came out about Rachel had attended like an ante antebellum party in the south, which I'm not personally going to go into the history of that. Um, you can look it up.

[00:10:50] We've talked about it on the pod before we talk about Blake Lively and her wedding and her blog. So the messenger should know. Yeah. So Matt James being a black man, obviously, um, had some very valid feelings about it. And this also led to Chris Harrison's firing too, because he, I can't remember what show he went on. Um, but he went on a show and basically like defended it and then people were not thrilled about that.

[00:11:18] So then that was the end of Chris Harrison's career as the host of The Bachelor. Anyway, so eventually Matt and Rachel got back together. And they've been together since. And then, so you really, you may have come across them on TikTok. If you like watch food videos or travel videos, or even like they do a lot of like Disney content.

[00:11:38] Um, so if you watch any of those videos, they may have come across your feed because they, they've more or less have transitioned into, um, food and travel lifestyle vloggers on TikTok. Um, so they've been posting all their TikToks for years and everything.

[00:11:54] So then yesterday morning at about six o'clock Eastern standard time in the, in the morning, I don't remember if I said the morning part, like in the morning, um, Matt James posts this pretty wild Instagram post. Um, and it's of him and Rachel meeting at the bachelor mansion. Well, at Nima colon, not the bachelor mansion. And then hit the caption is father. God give Rachel and I strength to mender broken hearts.

[00:12:21] Give us a piece about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Show our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our joy comes from you, Lord. Which is a bit of an interesting breakup statement. It's a lot. It's a lot for a breakup statement. And this is only on Matt's Instagram. Rachel has not made a statement at all.

[00:12:48] And so this was really confusing and shocking to everyone, like in bachelor nation, like a lot of people thought engagement was coming very soon. This couple has been together for a while. It's been clear. That's something that Rachel has wanted. Um, some other things that are like a little odd, 12 hours before this, they, he posted, um, like a food video from London. And like, uh, by the way, which is. Yeah.

[00:13:14] And like, um, so people were like, oh, well, they're on a trip together. And like, they often post content like after they've left that place. Fair enough. Um, he was also commenting. Like people would comment on his videos and he would reply. Um, talking about like how gorgeous Rachel is, like the kind of buffet they'll have at their wedding. Like this was all within 24 hours of this message being posted.

[00:13:39] And so people like thought he was hacked, but it hasn't come down yet. Like there's been no other statement from either side. Um, there was a page six article, um, that Rachel was blindsided by the breakup post. Um, somebody commented, the more I'm thinking about it, the more I think he completely blindsided her with this, give her some grace and let her respond in her own time. And she favorited it.

[00:14:07] So now there's speculation that she actually broke up with him. Um, and then kind of as like retaliation, he like posted this, like he wanted to get the message out first. He wanted to be ahead of the story.

[00:14:22] Um, another interesting thing is that this exclusive about Rachel's being blindsided came from page six, which, um, as pointed out by a bachelor data, as well as like people on Reddit. Um, I, this was also the publication that broke or like dad was the first to have her family commenting about the antebellum party.

[00:14:48] Um, I don't want to say drama that feels so light, but, um, controversy. The fallout. Yeah. And yeah. So page six was like who her family interviewed with after that. Um, so it is possible that there's like a little bit of an in there and that we can kind of take that, um, with, with our grains of salt.

[00:15:10] Um, yeah. And I guess there's a, like a source on Rachel's side, talk to the U S sun, which I'm assuming is not a reputable newspaper based on how. Oh, maybe it was U S sun is in Canada. Maybe it was U S. Original either one, either page six or U S like U S. Yeah. It was probably both at the same. Like, that's the thing too, is it's like page six is just an amalgamator for all this stuff anyways.

[00:15:34] But, um, that source said that like, she broke up with him and she didn't know he was going to do that and definitely wouldn't have approved of it. If she had known, she thinks it's just as weird as everyone else says. And she's humiliated that that's how the news came out. So like, we don't know what the full truth is, but like, this is crazy.

[00:15:52] He is still all over her Instagram, but her last birthday post for him in December, but still, yeah, it's just, I'm very confused that. If she broke up with him and then all the posts, all their posts are still up. It's just, what's the timeline? They're not going to delete them because it's engagement. I don't think they're going to delete them. Probably a bunch of them are like sponsored ads that they're not allowed to delete.

[00:16:21] Yeah, that's true. Uh, but yeah, it's literally wild, a very developing story. Uh, people are. Just very confused. I think like the way that the caption is written as like a prayer, I think gives it like a very weird vibe as well, which makes it maybe a little more interesting than if it was just a normal breakup post. Yeah.

[00:16:49] It's like everything is sponsored by the way on the feed. It's like a lot. That's like the, to write that caption. It makes me wonder like, did you guys have these conversations together in private like this? Like what? Like, and then you post that on the internet. Like it makes me wonder like, did you guys have these like spiritual conversations? Like, or did you just post that for the internet? It's weird. Oh God.

[00:17:19] Very weird. But yeah, I think that's everything. Hayley, is there anything else about this that we need to prepare the messengers for? Or is this just going to be a developing story? I think it's just going to be a developing story. I know that like, if you're not in Bachelor Nation and you hear like, oh, a Bachelor couple broke up. You're gonna be like, yeah, well, of course, that's what they all do. But this is, it feels different. It feels very different. And just the way they're moving, I think is what's funny. Like they could have broken up.

[00:17:47] It could have been like a notes, you know, a screenshot of the notes app. They both shared it. Music. Whatever. But yeah. It's just the way he wrote it. She's not tagged in it. They're still posting content. You know, might be sponsored. Most likely sponsored. Maybe even I'll say. It's weird. I don't know. What are we doing, Matt? What are we doing? Do you think that he tried to add her as a collaborator on the post and she declined? That's hilarious. I do.

I don't even want to say nonsense because it's like actually kind of serious. But I don't know. Okay. So Lavinia, how much do you know about the hockey player, Jake DeBrusque? Him as a player.

[00:19:41] It's kind of sad because like I know of him, obviously, but it's sad because I just associate him with this now and not his actual career and like what he's doing on the ice and you know what he's doing with the community and his community and stuff. It's just this and it's really sad. And I was shook to see it on the outline because I like saw this for the first time last year, like last summer. And to see it come up now.

[00:20:08] And I think I'm assuming that it's gone kind of I might have missed the virality of it. I'm sure it probably went viral like this month just because of the the scope of it has gone bigger. Oh, my God. So there was there was an incident this week that kind of brought it back to the forefront. So Jake DeBrusque is an NHL hockey player. He is currently playing for the Vancouver Canucks.

[00:20:36] He previously played for the Boston Bruins and he has had a stalker for the past eight years. Eight is crazy. This woman, Jan Taylor, her Twitter is private now, but she has posted a lot of stuff in the past that is extremely troubling. Like, for example, she's posted in the past like.

[00:21:07] Oh, like what if I tell Jake I'm working on my mental health? Will I be allowed to see him again? Why? Like, why doesn't what will it take for Jake to see that I'm the girl for him? Like making comments on social media about his wife and like how no, like you shouldn't be with your wife. You should be with me. Like really, really crazy things.

[00:21:37] Um, someone made a post on Twitter that was like, I'm glad the Canucks are taking action, which like we'll get to what they took action on soon. But she literally DM to this person and here's all of her messages. OMG, I know I will have a relationship with Jake soon. He will pay for my flight to Vancouver and finally kick me into the curb for how she treated me. Mia treated Jake's ex like crap because she wanted him. So why would she be upset? Because I love Jake. She doesn't deserve any protection. I do.

[00:22:03] When Jake finds out how Mia treated me when I needed help, he will dump her. I can't wait for that to finally happen. I know that Jake will love me soon. I don't see what Mia has that I don't have. She definitely isn't a sweetheart. It has a very cold personality in real life. I don't think she will last being a doctor. I truly love Jake. He deserves that kind of love. Mia doesn't like this is like what he said. She's sliding into the DMs of people who posted like. Good job that Jake is being protected against this person.

[00:22:31] And she's like so insane. And when I was looking this up, I was like, oh, is this related to like the book talk stuff that we talked about last year? It's not. She like she just like used to work at the stadium in Boston and would think like if he like did certain gestures on the ice during practice, she took that to mean that he was communicating with her. Like she's just not a well woman. Mental health.

[00:22:57] And I'm glad that it's like being taken seriously that Jake is getting protected. But I'm also like, why is nobody helping this woman? Like she obviously needs help. Well, so just for like so. So for some background, like she. This is a person that she apparently works like as an usher or something at TD Garden in Boston. Right.

[00:23:24] And from my perspective, it seems as though she got that job for the players. So just like for some like an idea for those that may not know, like obviously sports fans are what they are. Some some of them go a little too much. Like I can actually speak on this right now because my local team, the Sharks, just like kind of had a rebuild going on and they have a lot of young players on the roster.

[00:23:53] And back in my day, we took this kind of behavior to Tumblr in the 2010s. But now it's on. And I never had this kind of behavior. I feel like everything is so weird. Like the stand culture is so out of control. Like these are 18 year olds, you know, and so like a lot of these girls like on the Internet are like younger and like expressing themselves like I totally get that. But like the stand basically what I'm trying to say, I'm not trying to say it's related,

[00:24:22] but the stand culture around sports is chaotic. But I think for hockey in particular, there is sometimes a line that can easily be crossed because they're so accessible in comparison to like NBA stars. A person that's obsessed with LeBron James is not going to have access in the same way if they're obsessed with, you know, you just have to go through Drake. And right. Sure. Sure. Sure. You know, you know how it is. Then these hockey players, right?

[00:24:51] So yeah, for her to for a person like this, who's like clearly like not well and is, I don't know, like fixating on this person, they have more access. So it becomes a scary situation. And so she had worked for TD Garden. She got fired. She got put on a list of do not enter. Basically, like the security team was like really on top of it in Boston, as well as it was communicated over throughout the league. So this person was wanting to travel.

[00:25:19] So what this recent situation is, is like this person traveled. So people were saying, oh, my God, she moved to Vancouver because Jake DeBrasque was traded over. I don't know if it was a trade or offseason signing or free agency, whatever. But he moved over from the Bruins to the Canucks. And people were saying she moved. But like, there's no way she moved. She, I guess, was like in Seattle to get as close as possible.

[00:25:46] Oh, because there's so there's some rumors that she was saying she wanted to move to Vancouver. And but also some places where allegedly she said she's not allowed into Canada, which would make sense if she has like a criminal record. Right. Canada is pretty strict about that, as a lot of people found out when they're trying to come to Taylor Swift and then realize they can't get over the border because they have a DUI. Anyways, imagine being like, I'm going to go to another country and not research it before you get to the border anyways.

[00:26:15] Anyways, and so then she was trying to go to a game of the Canucks versus the Seattle Kraken, because again, can't come to Canada. Right. And close. It was like that was as close as she could get to Vancouver. And of course, like that's where the Canucks were playing that day. And she had bought a ticket. And when she got there, the ticket wouldn't scan because the director of security said that the Canucks requested that she not attend. Like she must have posted somewhere that she had a ticket.

[00:26:45] Foolish. And then the Connect were like, absolutely not. They must have her credit card. Yeah, I was going to say. And she must have they must have her credit card info. She's documenting everything. She's been documenting everything for these past eight years, you guys. Like this person, like it only recently more recently came to light because it's like getting crazier and crazier.

[00:27:06] But like she's also been on record saying on record on Twitter saying like, I want a job in sports media. I want this. I want this. I want to be a doctor. I want to go to medical school. Jacob will pay for my medical school because Mia, his wife or girlfriend, I'm not sure, is a doctor.

[00:27:26] And it's like in my head, I'm like, OK, if she's not moving to Vancouver or whatever, why did she go to Seattle when she could just go watch the Canucks play in Boston if she lives in Massachusetts or New York or whatever? Because she wants to be closer to where he lives. Like that's so well. So my mind, some of the some of the posts that she made. So this happened like at the start of January and then it kind of popped up a couple of days ago.

[00:27:55] But so she posted on January 2nd, Jake telling the Canucks about me was not right. And he needs to hear that. I want to be at as many Canucks games as possible. I want to know what the woman he dates and his friends with have that I don't. I want him to take me on dates because I will actually act professional, which is crazy because this is not professional. Like I the fact that you could be posting this crazy and then be like, but I will act professional is just goes to show. Obviously, there's a lot very wrong.

[00:28:24] And then like someone posted something else about like, well, you're banned from games or something. And she replies, no, there isn't. I can still attend Canucks games if they don't know I am in the city there and ahead of time. Jake needs to get me a lot back at games and help me get in with the media this season. And also she's like fully in her brain. Yeah. In a really good way. Going on eight years. Yeah. That is not. And it probably just gets worse every minute anyway. Yeah.

[00:28:53] Well, I like stalking is some really scary shit. And it's something that often doesn't get taken very seriously until it's too late. So I'm just really glad that in this case, it's being taken seriously and that she's being prevented from going to games. I hope that they can like surely. Can he not say he's good? He does. His wife has one.

[00:29:18] What's crazy too is that I'm realizing right now, like in real time that he, excuse my voice, guys. My allergies are going crazy. He did not. It wasn't a trade. He chose not to resign with Boston. He chose to go somewhere else, make himself available in free agency because a lot of it had to do with this. I'm remembering now. Yeah. Like he's already put his whole life into upheaval to get away and to protect himself and his, I'm pretty sure wife.

[00:29:48] But if that's girlfriend, please correct me on that. Yeah, it was really horrible. Either way, it doesn't matter. Like his partner. Just, I don't understand how she has. She obviously has no one in her life. And this like that part sad. But this poor like person, like I'm talking about Jake, who just had and his like partner that has to deal with this shit.

[00:30:17] Like over and over. And just because you're a celebrity and Pouya and you, Kirsten, talked about this last time, right? Where it's like, what level of access can we expect from celebrities? And there's a difference between like being on a podcast, talking about it and then moving on with your life and versus like making them fuck up their whole life because you just have some weird obsession. Like what the fuck are we doing here?

[00:30:45] I mean, like hockey. This is a problem in hockey. You guys like there like with with, like I said, the rise of like, I'm not too familiar with like book talk and stuff like that. But like I've noticed that a lot of books, like a lot of hockey books are a thing. And so they're like some people that like are really into that, which there's nothing wrong with that. But some people take it too far. They start applying it to like real life.

[00:31:12] And like there's a player who's actually on the Sharks now, but he was with Seattle last season, Alex Wenberg. He is like a super like he's super attractive. Like, don't get me wrong. Looks like a Disney prince. Like, I get it. But some people were so like it was like sexual harassment. Like it was genuinely that like on the Internet as well as in person. I believe in Seattle. Yeah, no, we talked about this. Yeah, I remember.

[00:31:38] Last year, there was like the woman in particular who like won a meet and greet or something and then had to be removed. And like he had to make a post being like, if you want to post about me, that's fine. But leave my wife alone because she started getting, I think, death threats after she posted like that's my husband. Yeah, and this is yeah. Mia is his girlfriend and her Instagram is private, even though she's 4000 followers.

[00:32:06] It's like fascinating how all their lives are obviously or maybe it's his wife. But either way, all their lives are being like in upheaval because of this person. Yeah. The fuck? It's so terrible. It's horrible. Stalking is like truly one of the scariest things. Mm hmm. Yeah. Yeah. It's really, really scary. There's only so much he can do.

[00:32:33] Like if you think about it, he's like, I'm going to go all the way on the West Coast, a different coast to get away in a different country. Like, I'm sure that that had something to do with it more than something to do with it. Like, I'm sure like he's like, that's my best way I can get away. Yeah, even. Yeah, she's like everywhere, even on Twitter, on Reddit. They have like threads dedicated to Jan. Like I won.

[00:33:00] There's there's a post about her that's recently where someone was like, oh, I attended a practice last year at Warrior Ace Arena. And afterwards, some lady jumped out in front of DeBrusque's car when he was leaving to force him to stop and chat with her. I wonder if that was her. And it's like, probably. Most likely. Obviously, we don't know. But like. Yeah, like horrible. She's posted too. And like, this is very serious, but she clearly is not of sound mind and doesn't understand posting this.

[00:33:28] She's posted like, I'm going to like actively hurt myself in front of him so that he understands. Like, that's what she's saying. Like, it's this is serious. Like, this is serious shit. It's not just like, oh, I love this hockey player. I have a crush on this. Like the Alex Weinberg, like whatever. Which that was also serious, mind you. But this is like, she's saying, I'm going to hurt myself. And unfortunately, some people on Twitter still engage her and like argue with her.

[00:33:55] And so I saw a screenshot of someone saying like, that's this is wrong because X, Y and Z. And then she's replying saying, this wouldn't traumatize him. Nothing traumatizes hockey players. Which is like. What a terrible thing to say. Yeah. Yeah. So then if also it just like goes to show how like her brain is not working because it's like, well, if it's not going to traumatize him, what is your goal? To make him understand that he needs to help. Shake him enough, I guess.

[00:34:24] And not traumatize. Anyways, this is horrible. But yeah, it's again, this is something that's been going on for Jake for eight years and just hasn't. I feel like it's been more of a mainstream discussion this past week. And I thought that maybe the messengers would want to know what's going on there. So. What's happening? Horrible. Oh, my gosh. I'm just curious, like what it takes to put people like this behind bars. I mean, I know what it takes.

[00:34:54] And like, how is that not an active threat? Like to say, like, I'm going to hurt myself. I know she's not saying. Like that should at least be like an involuntary hold for mental health reasons. Right. And this person's apparently in their 30s. Not that this matters. I don't care what age you are doing. This is wrong. But yeah, I don't see how. That's not a reason. That's the thing, though. People will go to the police about a stalker and be told, well, we can't do anything until they are.

[00:35:24] I like this happening to people I know. And it's terrible. The fact that he even has a restraining order against this woman to me says and it's taken more seriously when it happens to a man than when it happens to a woman. Right. I feel like it's a lot harder for a woman who's being stalked to even get a restraining order. So it's just like there's so many layers to how messed up this is. And hopefully she gets help to not be like this anymore.

[00:35:54] And he's able to just move on with his life. Yeah. I don't think she thinks she needs help. And I don't think there's anybody in her life to get her there, which is really sad. Super sad. Yeah. OK. I have a rant. Yes. OK. I got pissed off while I was looking for stories for Mess Magnet.

[00:36:23] So obviously everyone is aware of the fire situation in Southern California, in L.A., in the Palisades. The number of the amount of destruction of property lost of like everything is just so horrible. The scale of this is horrible. It's literally like that thing of like climate change is just going to be like a series of videos on your phone until you're the one. Yeah. The video, basically.

[00:36:53] Anyways, it's horrible. And if any of you messengers are affected, like we're thinking of you because this is just terrible. Yes. It's just so horrible. Anyways. So. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as we're as we've always known, when there's disasters, they go and they do community outreach. They always have. It's always been Meghan's thing.

[00:37:19] Part of why the royal family didn't like her is because she was doing allegedly doing charity work and it like made them look bad that they weren't or something like that. We've talked about it several times. Anyways, they were pictured consoling victims of the Los Angeles wildfires and doing some community outreach. Meghan was filmed wearing like a face mask to protect from the ash in the air and like a baseball cap while she's like comforting people. So. Yep.

[00:37:50] I. Anyways. I. Justine Bateman, who's like from the 80s, chosen the 80s. I like I literally. I. Anyways, she was mad that they were in Pasadena helping people and posted like Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. What a repulsive photo op they achieved. Are they touring the damage? Are they politicians now? They don't live here. They're tourists.

[00:38:19] Disaster tourists. First of all, bitch, Meghan Markle and Harry live in L.A. You stupid person. Like, I don't know what's wrong with you. Also, like. I to me, I'm like. The people taking the photos should be putting down the cameras and helping people. And I mean, it's. I don't know. I feel like a lot of folks like documentation is part of this. I don't know. I just feel like. Yeah. Which again, like is also it's fine if there's photos.

[00:38:50] But like, I don't think that Harry and Meghan called the paps on themselves to get papped doing this. A lot of celebrities are out helping people right now. You know, and I. Like, I just think it's so crazy to call someone a disaster tourist. I think even if someone came in from out of town to do help, that would be OK, because you're literally helping people who've lost everything. And how about little Miss Bateman log off Twitter and go do something yourself?

[00:39:18] Like, what are we doing here? What have you done? How about that? I think it's. It's damned if they do and damned if they don't. Honestly, like it doesn't matter what they do. These like these are two people that will always get scrutinized no matter what. Like they can exhale a certain Megan can exhale a certain way and they'll be like, well, why is she wearing that baseball cap like that? Why is her chest moving like that while she breathes? Like like it's just one of those things. And I see you were describing what you saw and I'm waiting.

[00:39:47] Like, what's the offensive part? Like there's never an offensive part to any thing they do. That's the offensive part. Her being like black. Black. Yeah. Yeah. And so Megan and Harry haven't directly responded to this, but a quote source close to Megan and Harry. So I assume their PR team said it's offensive to Megan and Harry that anyone would think this is a photo opportunity, like merely a photo opportunity, like because also remember

[00:40:15] like Megan's from L.A. as well originally. Right. And so it's like her heart is completely broken for all the lives lost in those whose homes have been destroyed. Like they've invested time and resources, donated money and essential items and countless hours volunteering long before the media ever even caught wind of their involvement. But the thing is, right. And I don't know if you're going to bring that up. So sorry if I'm jumping. No, it's OK. But here's a tea.

[00:40:46] Kate, who has now, you know, gotten remission from cancer, has started doing work or, you know, public work and showed up to a cancer wing and did photo op there. And people are praising that work. Well, of course. It's OK to show cancer patients in the middle, but it's not OK to show you're volunteering. Make it make sense.

[00:41:16] This is what pisses me off, because, OK, if you're like, hey, you're like, you know, it's like disaster porn, right? Like, don't like why are we doing this? Then why is Kate going to cancer patients and posting pictures? Yeah. And another part, too, is it's like I think a lot of people have the. I don't know. I'm not sure when you see people losing their homes.

[00:41:42] To me, it doesn't matter if that's a like anyone who loses a home to a fire. I feel sorry for them. Obviously, it's like people who don't have the resources or capacity to rebuild as easily. I have more sympathy for. But I still have sympathy for anyone who's losing a home. And Harry and Meghan's home is currently under a red flag warning if the wind shifts like they could also be losing everything. They have an evacuation plan like ready for if that happens.

[00:42:10] And they're still taking the time to go out and help the people that have already lost things. So I just am like. Pissed off. I'm really pissed off. I think honestly, like the people of L.A., it's been incredible to see the citizens down there like helping each other. I love seeing like little like when the like, you know, the the news broadcast trucks are out there doing the Lord's work. Right. And they capture moments of like citizens helping each other.

[00:42:39] They're like, I think I saw like a couple of like Good Samaritans, like basically like there was a palm tree that was on fire that was going to hit a house. And they like they just went out of their way to like handle that because the the homeowners had already evacuated. Like, let's just like just try to help in some ways, some ways helping one another. Harry and Meghan live there. They're people. They're human beings. And so if that's being captured, it's not not everything has an agenda.

[00:43:09] You guys like not everything is a photo op. They're just regular citizens like the ones that the news cameras captured trying to take like take down the fire from the palm tree to help their neighbors. Like they're just helping their neighbors. That's what we're that's what I feel like we're on earth for is community. And I just personally feel like not everything has a hidden agenda in the ways that like, I don't know, like not everything's so crazy all the time. Like what if we just need to be human in this moment?

[00:43:38] And they're also human just because they're royal family, royal adjacent. I don't care. It doesn't mean that they're trying to like do something crazy. I don't know. I also ranted Kirsten. Everybody's rant. No, it's just I love it because everything you're saying is on the nose. And and the fact again, that's where I thought this was going is that the way they're pitting these two women against each other. Or I mean, let's be honest, we know that the royals are. Yeah, that's not even news.

[00:44:07] I'm like, oh, I've ranted about that before. I know. And then the Daily Mail is like Kate does a master class with cancer patients while Meghan Markle's disaster class. Bitch, what are we doing here? Is that not weird to you? Like, is that not? I'm sorry. I have a journalism degree. If I had spent four years in college getting a journalism degree and I'm out here on the Daily Mail writing these headlines and like think like I'm I'm a failure.

[00:44:34] That's how I would feel about myself if I was writing that. No, it's just it's more than pathetic. I don't know. Yeah, it's horrible. I'm tired of this. And I want to delete them. Actually, it's not even regional.

[00:46:02] That's no it's sports. Like, yeah, it's Fox Sports. Like, yeah, straight up. Yeah. Just being horror. But anyway. Yeah. So we'll get into it because there's like a huge lawsuit. But I did want to talk about Justin and Blake. Like, but not what people think. Because we got to get off the roller coaster. That is like the lawsuit. Who's right? Who's wrong? Wait. But did you see?

[00:46:30] Wait, did you see the headline that was like Blake told Justin he had to get a nose job? Is that real? I'm triggered. The basement one where he was in the basement and he shared pictures. Oh, yeah. I saw that. He had to wait in the basement. I haven't looked into that deep because I know that we're going to be talking about that lawsuit like a million times. Yeah. I don't care. But I highly doubt he had to wait in the basement. Yeah. That's just my inkling. No, that's what I'm saying.

[00:47:00] Like, we're not even like, no. We're not touching it. We're going to be on a roller coaster with Blake and Justin forever. And that's fine. But what I did want to talk about is how this all came to be. Because I feel like I found a little bit of a goldmine of info that I wanted to share. Oh, my God. So it turns out and this is obviously alleged, like allegedly, allegedly, allegedly.

[00:47:27] But there is some tea on why the text came out the way they did. Right. Like, why did we why did the New York Times and Blake get access to all the text? Like, right. Because people were asking this. We've been very curious. Yeah. Discovery hasn't happened yet. All of this. All right. So strap in. Allegedly, allegedly.

[00:47:49] So what we know, right, is that the Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni complaint is best understood, actually, as a PR lady on PR lady violence. And that that is the actual issue and drama here. And let's let's know why. OK, because the biggest piece is Blake. Right.

[00:48:19] Like did the whole harassment retaliation against Justin. And it's well evidenced in pre-discovery complaint. And she has like many juicy and damning text messages, you know, and all that. Right. How did she get those texts? So let's talk. Um, and this person on Twitter, their tag is at that model. Marvelous. Yeah. But mob like the color, I think.

[00:48:45] So are so they're alleging that it's actually all in Blake Lively's legal filings. And our protagonist is veteran publicist Stephanie Jones. All right. And Stephanie Jones is the founder and CEO of Jones Work, Jones Works, a celebrity PR firm. Right. Over the years, Jones Works has clients like high, high profile, like Venus Williams, Jeff Bezos, Tom Brady.

[00:49:14] And since 2017, Justin Baldoni. All right. And then they have like screenshots of all of this. Jen Abel is also a publicist. Jen Abel joins Jones Works in July 2020 and apparently did well. And by 2021, she was getting a cut of the profits and a promise of like sales proceeds in the event the company was acquired. Right. Like all this. Okay.

[00:49:42] So Jen assumes responsibility of Baldoni's account at Jones Works and was in the role during the events that likely, allegedly, right, gave rise to Blake Lively's complaints. And apparently, Stephanie and Jen's relationship sours a bit over the years. And Jen submitted her resignation in 2024 and stated that August 23rd would be her last day of work.

[00:50:12] And the resignation letter is like really weirdly sugary, like way, way too nice. Like I've left the company before with grace. And, you know, I'm like no ill will. My relationships are intact. I fully plan and hope that, you know, this is beautiful. Amazing time. I look forward to our continuing our relationship. Like all this kind of stuff. All right. That's how Jen leaves.

[00:50:38] But one week before her scheduled departure, Business Insider publishes a hit piece on Stephanie Jones based on a slew of anonymous resources. And low key, like what this person is saying, like this, you know, it's. It makes her look more badass than necessary, like Stephanie Jones. But either way, that's not here nor there.

[00:51:07] It basically says who's afraid of Stephanie Jones, how Tom Brady's publicist became one of the most polarizing names in celebrity PR. Right. So lots of dirt on Stephanie is shared here. And a specific allegation is when one employee took a sick day, Stephanie ambushed her with a hostile midday FaceTime call because she did not believe the employee was actually sick. Huh? What? Yeah.

[00:51:37] But. Okay, wait. Can I just say like ain't nobody's business why you take a sick day? You could be mentally, you could be struggling mentally. I just did this on Monday. Like you could have your period. The fuck? Like any reason, like literally, like I like if you're calling it to just say hi, I'm not well. I won't be in today. Thank you. Bye. Like you don't ever need to tell them why you don't ever need to explain.

[00:52:05] And sick days are part of your overall compensation package anyway. And if they ask that you are allowed to say none of your business. Yeah, I'm not well. Thanks. Thank you very much. Exactly. All right. But Stephanie was, of course, correct. And the employee had taken a sick day to attend a job interview. I mean, no, but that's how you know a company is toxic as hell. Correct. If you need to take a whole day off to go to a job interview. That's crazy. Yeah.

[00:52:35] So then it seems like, right, there's like a culture clash between like maybe Gen X versus millennials, Zoom or whatever. That's how it's written in this piece. Anyway, then the piece like, you know, but it's a hit piece, but like kind of a little bit like whatever. Then Stephanie seems to suspect that Gen is involved.

[00:52:58] And because and turns out Stephanie ends up firing Jen on August 21st, two days before her planned final day of work. And this. Okay. Exactly. And this surprise termination was important because allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly Jen is not able to wipe her work phone. Because she was, you know, she had she was still had two days.

[00:53:27] But because she was taken by surprise, she allegedly maybe didn't get a chance. And because and because of that, when, you know, obviously her work phone gets taken, they kind of found confirmation that Jen was a source or business. Wow. There's this is really illegal. Very. This is like a TV show, though. Like, have you there was that?

[00:53:54] Um, there was that Amazon Prime series about the PR late. I can't remember. Um. I need to. And it was like that show was crazy. Anna Paquin was in it. Um, what was it called? I'm I'm finding out what it's called right now. It came out like over COVID. I think it was called Flack. Maybe. Oh, I've heard of this. Yes. Yes. But yeah.

[00:54:21] And so, yeah, it was about Anna Paquin play Robin, who's like a lot of American publicist working for a London PR company. And in that show, literally, she found out one of her clients was like. Watching child pornography and she like destroyed the laptop so the evidence wouldn't be found so it wouldn't get out. Like, like this show made it seem like public relations does a lot of like. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. They are not lawyers.

[00:54:51] No. Yeah. Anyways, that's just what the show said. I don't know what it's actually like, but also like season one of Flack was crazy. Crazy. Oh, my God. I need to watch. Anyway, so then basically they end up releasing these texts and it's saying that Jennifer and this woman, Melissa, who both work for Justin, Melissa Nathan, fed information to the journalist and were moved forward with an article.

[00:55:21] And then they were like talking back and forth. First of all, why the F are we using work phones to do this? Are you effing stupid? That's crazy. And the contact between, you know, all these people like there's been phone calls and all this like text messages, every. All right. Then Jones Works ends up finding, which is again, the company ends up finding a few other interesting text messages.

[00:55:47] Some trash talking about clients, including Justin Baldoni. And of course, some remarkable gloating about the smear campaign against Blake Lively. Oh, wow. So that's the text message. Allegedly. Alleged. But yeah. So these are the alleged text messages that are in Blake's complaint. But I'm confused now. Where's the link of how Blake's team got them? No. So that's the thing.

[00:56:15] Stephanie sent it to them. To like get back at her. Yes. Who left? Correct. Her employee who was. She still represents Justin. So why? No, no. Because Jen. Wait, wait. So Jen started her new PR firm and she ends up taking several employees and clients with her, including Justin Baldoni, who stopped paying Jones Works invoices partway through an annual contract.

[00:56:43] Oh, that is messy. This was back in August. And then all was quiet until Friday night before Christmas when Blake Lively's lawyers drop all of this. Honestly, a lot of stuff like this happens behind closed doors that we don't know about. Like this stuff's constantly happening. Allegedly. Yeah. So this surprises me none. Yeah. I just thought it was surprising, but it's so juicy. Yeah.

[00:57:11] That's why I was like, no, this is the tea. This is why Mess Magnets was created. Because it feels like it just really explains how they got all of this before a subpoena, before anything. I mean, and it logically, if all of this is true, it logically makes sense. Right. And this is why Jones Works was is not mentioned in anything. Ooh. Right. Because they used to work there.

[00:57:40] So why aren't why isn't Jones Works mentioned? So it's, you know, I think that she said, here's the evidence, but leave us out of it. Mm hmm. Yeah. And they, of course, why wouldn't they? Right. And then her lawyers are saying they use a subpoena, blah, blah, blah. But how can you get a subpoena? You have to know, low key, I feel like you had to have known that this existed before getting it. Mm hmm. So that's the tea.

[00:58:08] I mean, it's like you maybe wouldn't necessarily know exactly what's there, but you'd have to have some sort of inkling, I guess, of like that something was there. Yeah. Like get ahead of it. Yeah. So it feels like all of this kind of happened. Because of maybe one Stephanie Jones and Jen Abel fight. This is crazy.

[00:58:31] Okay, well, we will definitely obviously be continuing to report on the Justin and Blake drama over the course of the whole year as it happens. But hopefully some more like PR on PR violence could come up. So I know. I really understand. Like, that's crazy.

[00:58:48] I think that like stuff like this behind closed doors, like executives and stuff like that, like fighting each other is always cattier and more like, like it's like a bloodbath versus like the stuff that's front facing in the media. Like, oh, it's Justin versus Blake, like whatever. No, actually, the more like bloodbath is the behind the scenes closed door stuff like this. So it's always interesting when like we get a look like it's kind of like a fly on the wall. Like it's crazy. I love it. Oh, my God. Yeah. And pay the people.

[00:59:17] Okay, make sure you're paying your people on time. Because turns out they were obligated to pay Jones work $25,000 per month up until May 6, 2025. But obviously they moved. They left and stopped paying. That's crazy. Oh, my God. And don't use your phone. But yeah, Stephanie Jones, the bad bitch that you are. You're crazy. Okay. I love that. [01:00:11] So while it was on again and off again, there was like other girls that he would flirt with or make out with when they were off. And one of those girls was named. We're going to call her Chelsea. Okay. Our messenger and Chelsea had literally nothing in common except for Hunter. And so they were never friends, but they were also like never really had bad blood either. Mm hmm. And so now we're fast forwarding. Now everyone involved is in their early 30s. Ooh.

[01:00:40] Hunter is married to someone he met in college. He lives in their hometown. Like him and his wife are expecting everybody's happy. Yeah. Chelsea is also married, obviously, to someone else. Lives a state away. She has two kids. She's happy living her life. Mm hmm. Our messenger lives in their home state, but not their hometown. She's super single. And so again, she still has literally nothing in common with Chelsea. They don't work in related fields. Our messenger has no kids versus Chelsea has kids.

[01:01:09] Our messenger is allergic to cats and Chelsea has three cats, etc. Like they literally just like have nothing in common. Never have. Okay. However, the fact that they have literally nothing in common does not dissuade Chelsea from checking our messenger's TikTok page every other Thursday like clockwork. What's happening? So our messenger has privacy settings to show when someone who doesn't follow her searches or pulls up her page on TikTok. Ooh. So Chelsea does not follow her.

[01:01:38] Our messenger is not an influencer by any means. So she's really just not. So she's pretty sure that she would not be showing up in Chelsea's feed because again, they don't have literally anything in common. Right. And our messenger does not post often or with any sort of regularity. Got it. Got it. Got it. So like more than once, Chelsea would have definitely checked our messenger's page and found no new videos. Okay. This is so weird. What?

[01:02:05] So about six months ago, our messenger screenshotted the notification that's like Chelsea has viewed your profile, which is what that looks like. This is my personal nightmare. I'm sorry. Like that other people know I'm stalking them. I write like my question. Sorry. I want clarity. She's checking it at a specific time. It's every other Thursday. She checks.

[01:02:29] So it's like she's got like rotation and it's like every other Thursday is when she gets to this person. What? Okay. Okay. Weird. Weird. And so our messenger sends the screenshot with a message that says, hey, just thought I'd let you know. I get notified every time you view my page with a screenshot. Oh my God. Chelsea goes, oh, I didn't know that. LOL. I love her.

[01:02:56] Our messenger goes, why are you checking my page so often? Iconic. I could never. This directness. I literally could never. And Chelsea goes, oh, your videos are pretty funny. And our messenger goes, oh, thanks. Why not just follow me? And Chelsea goes, I mean, we're not really friends. And the Hunter stuff was always super weird in high school. This was high school? High school and like early college was when the Hunter stuff happened.

[01:03:26] And then now everyone's in their 30s. Got it. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. And so then the conversation on TikTok ends because I guess TikTok has a rule where you can only send like three messages back and forth. I didn't know that was a thing, but I believe our messenger on that one. And so our messenger is like, huh? What does a guy we dated almost a decade ago have to do with any of this? Do we think she also stalks his wife or any of his other flings?

[01:03:54] And Chelsea and our messenger are friends on Facebook. So she doesn't think it would actually be that weird if Chelsea followed her. Right. However, our messenger is petty and won't follow her first or maybe never would at all. Honestly, messenger is not wrong. I want to make that clear. Exactly. Messenger is correct. And so after this interaction, Chelsea stopped viewing our messenger's TikTok for about three months. But now they're back schedule and all every other Thursday.

[01:04:24] So weird. Yeah. I have no idea what she's thinking or why she's interested, but at least now she knows that I see her creeping. Honestly, shout out to that girl because she obviously does not give a damn. No, I love it. This is like if you've ever had a friend where it's like you can kind of tell the friendship is like falling off and you need a break, but you are like, well, I just need a break. I would just kind of like ghost and like withdraw and like not talk to that person. But I was talking to someone recently.

[01:04:53] They're like, oh, yeah, I needed a break from this friend. And so I just like told her I needed a break for a couple of months. I was like, you can do that. You could just tell people that. Oh my God. And so I like this, like a willingness to have constructive conflict. I have a lot of respect for. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I've definitely had friends where it's like, like I find out months and months later that I mean, this is this is more this is actually toxic. This isn't like something I would say like, oh, you just simply withdraw because you need a break or whatever.

[01:05:20] I have found out like a year later, like I had made like a joke that like offended them. Oh, I told me. Yes, Sasha. And it's like, oh, like I've been harboring resentment. And I'm like, OK, sis, I don't know what to do with that now, because that has happened to me so many times. I've just decided to go. And be like, here's my list of grievances with you of like any small thing you've ever said or done that bothered me. And I'm like, OK, so you were like keeping a list, but you never told me where there's

[01:05:50] a problem. And so I have not had the opportunity to apologize or adjust my behavior. Right. If anyone has a problem with me, I'm so open. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Like being told that and happy to apologize and like prove in the future that I value that person. So it's like, OK, I don't know. But anyway, I love this mess. This is like the funniest mess. I feel like I'm going to tell other people about this. Those are icons. Yeah. Those are icons.
