[00:47:23] And it like, you know, was basically like physically, emotionally, mentally present with someone or

[00:47:29] And it meant like being in the moment and not being distracted and feeling something cellular

[00:47:34] And she talks about a lot of it, but basically this, the interview was held the day after

[00:47:42] the election and she was trying to, I think, tee a question about queer people finding strength

[00:47:49] in this like music and you know, what's about to come basically.

[00:47:54] So I think Cynthia's response through her awe.

[00:50:09] Um, so this is our messenger wants to be very clear before we even get into it that like

[00:50:16] they are past this drama and they're living a happy and fulfilled life.

[00:50:20] Like they're, they're good now.

[00:50:22] They're no longer in a place of like fighting and dealing with this.

[00:50:26] And that's why they're able to submit it as a, um, as at all.

[00:50:32] And so this is the saga of our messenger's grandmother.

[00:50:36] Okay.

[00:50:37] Uh, and so their grandmother always was like not the best, but it heated up to a boiling

[00:50:42] point when our messenger's mother passed away.

[00:50:46] And our messenger and her sister were the primary caregivers for their mother for four

[00:50:52] years at the end of her life because she's very sick and very mentally ill.

[00:50:57] Honestly, shout out to you messenger and your sister.

[00:50:59] Like thank God that they're in a, in a better place now and have kind of moved on.

[00:51:04] Cause this is so horrible.

[00:51:05] Like their mother passed away the morning of their undergraduate graduation.

[00:51:10] They found her like really, really stressful stuff.

[00:51:14] But when they called their grandmother to tell her like, Hey, your daughter's passed away.

[00:51:18] She's like, what did you do to my daughter?

[00:51:20] Like blaming them after this woman was sick for years.

[00:51:23] Like just ridiculous.

[00:51:24] Don't piss me off.

[00:51:26] And so the grandmother comes into town to quote help with any loose ends and the memorial.

[00:51:34] And they all went to their mom's lawyer to discuss her will.

[00:51:42] And immediately.

[00:51:44] Our messenger's lawyer starts questioning the validity of the will because it had been changed

[00:51:48] three weeks prior to her death.

[00:51:51] And had been changed one day before their mother was held on a 72 hour mental health hold.

[00:51:58] Oh my God.

[00:52:00] And so she had written out our messenger and her sister and was leaving everything pretty

[00:52:05] much to their grandmother.

[00:52:07] So her, the mom's mom.

[00:52:09] Oh, don't know.

[00:52:10] I'm like, I'm going to fight.

[00:52:12] Our messenger's lawyer is like this.

[00:52:16] Obviously she was not in her right mind.

[00:52:18] Like that's wild.

[00:52:19] Right?

[00:52:20] Yeah.

[00:52:21] Um, but their grandmother immediately starts yelling about how terrible they are.

[00:52:26] Our messenger's sister yells back.

[00:52:27] My granny.

[00:52:27] Got it.

[00:52:28] Gets kicked out of the room.

[00:52:31] And, um, our messenger remained calm, but was asked to leave the room to check on her

[00:52:35] sister while their lawyer talked to the grandmother alone.

[00:52:39] Um, and so then the last thing that happened was the lawyer gave our messenger a piece of chocolate

[00:52:44] in the waiting room, said, sorry for your loss and never brought up the validity of the

[00:52:48] will again, which is crazy.

[00:52:51] Oh, I'm not a lawyer, but that does not sound like valid.

[00:52:55] But imagine how young you are.

[00:52:58] You've just graduated.

[00:52:59] One, you lost a parent.

[00:53:01] Period.

[00:53:01] It doesn't matter what age.

[00:53:03] That's too much.

[00:53:04] Second, you're young as hell.

[00:53:08] Oh, my God.

[00:53:10] I can't imagine the pain.

[00:53:13] Oh, my God.

[00:53:15] I'm sending you a hug.

[00:53:17] Yeah, it's this is crazy.

[00:53:19] And so then the grandmother made the whole process a nightmare.

[00:53:23] She stayed in their mom's apartment, slept in the bed their mom had passed away in.

[00:53:28] And that made her able to get decisions.

[00:53:30] Also, grandma also has mental problems.

[00:53:33] Yeah, obviously.

[00:53:34] Honestly, and she was just like throwing away family memories and special items before our

[00:53:41] messenger.

[00:53:41] Her sister could come over to collect.

[00:53:42] Oh, my God.

[00:53:43] Not the tallit.

[00:53:44] Oh, that's.

[00:53:45] Yeah.

[00:53:46] And first of all, you can't even throw a tallit.

[00:53:48] Like, what are we doing here?

[00:53:51] Is your grandma Jewish?

[00:53:52] Because this is crazy.

[00:53:54] Can you for the people who don't know what that is?

[00:53:57] The tallit is a prayer shawl, which caused a lot of baby Twitter drama.

[00:54:03] But yes, a tallit is a prayer shawl that you wrap around yourself when you're praying for

[00:54:12] And it has like very specific ways it's supposed to be wrapped.

[00:54:17] It has specific ways it's supposed to be even decorated.

[00:54:21] And the threads it's supposed to have, like each thing represents like something very holy

[00:54:25] for the Jewish people.

[00:54:26] So you don't just like throw away a tallit like that.

[00:54:30] And it's expensive.

[00:54:34] Absolutely wild.

[00:54:36] And so when their grandma left, our messenger and her sister were pretty much like nearly

[00:54:40] homeless.

[00:54:41] They had to pay off their mom's debts.

[00:54:44] And there were tons of collectors trying to take advantage of two orphan children who

[00:54:49] are 18 and 22 and didn't really know what they were legally responsible for or not.

[00:54:55] I actually know personally, like this happened to they were in high school.

[00:55:00] That's horrible.

[00:55:02] And literally horrible.

[00:55:04] Yeah.

[00:55:05] And so no, no one from their family would talk to them.

[00:55:09] Our messenger wanted to fight the will.

[00:55:11] But her sister said no, because she had dreams of one day having family connections again

[00:55:16] with their grandmother.

[00:55:20] And so like literally the grandmother called them after she got home saying, I'm so sorry.

[00:55:25] Of course, your mother would want you to have the money.

[00:55:26] Like I'll give the money to you like once it's dispersed.

[00:55:31] But obviously it did not get returned to them.

[00:55:34] The grandmother, once she got the money, called both of the granddaughters and said.

[00:55:40] They called them separately and said, you kill my daughter.

[00:55:43] And when my whenever your mom said she loved you, she was lying to you.

[00:55:48] Wow.

[00:55:50] Insane.

[00:55:50] And that's the last time our messenger ever spoke to her grandmother because she was like,

[00:55:53] I'm not doing this anymore.

[00:55:55] And so she and she remained just like an asshole for years and years.

[00:56:01] And last year she got so sick that she ended up in hospice care.

[00:56:05] And their aunt, so their mom's sister started.

[00:56:08] This is where see Judaism believes that you're going to get your comeuppance like as you're alive.

[00:56:15] And look at that.

[00:56:18] Yeah.

[00:56:19] And so their aunt started group chat with our messenger, her sister, their uncle.

[00:56:26] And the aunt about her declining health.

[00:56:30] And so this group chat is particularly hilarious because the uncle was also cut off from the grandmother.

[00:56:37] So it's like not the aunt's husband.

[00:56:40] It's the brother.

[00:56:41] Of course.

[00:56:42] And so like pretty much everyone in the chat was like had been hurt by her in the past and was like not really feeling sad around their grandmother passing.

[00:56:51] And their aunt was the only one who like cared for the grandmother to the end and all of that stuff.

[00:56:59] Oh my God.

[00:57:01] And so their aunt kept updating everyone sparingly through the group chat.

[00:57:05] And one day she messaged everyone and asked, oh, how does this date work for a memorial service?

[00:57:09] At which point the grandmother had not passed away.

[00:57:13] Right.

[00:57:14] She was asking everyone to pre-plan the memorial and start making arrangements while the grandmother was still alive.

[00:57:20] And this memorial would also be across the country.

[00:57:22] So none of these people are going to go.

[00:57:23] Please imagine.

[00:57:25] And despite this being insane, the aunt planned the memorial for those dates and the grandmother happened to die like one or two days before the memorial.

[00:57:36] Well, we don't.

[00:57:37] Yeah.

[00:57:38] And so any money that she still had left from her messenger's mother's inheritance was left to their cousin's children, other grandchildren.

[00:57:47] And her and her sister got nothing once again.

[00:57:50] So insane.

[00:57:53] But thankfully, again, our messenger is in like a really happy place, has a great chosen family and has moved past all of this.

[00:58:00] But just wanted to share this incredibly messy story.

[00:58:05] Just know that that money is never going to be good.

[00:58:11] And I am a true believer of this.

[00:58:14] Like if you steal money that was meant for someone, especially in this kind of situation, right, where it's a mother leaving stuff for their children.

[00:58:23] Especially, I really feel like bad things happen to you.

[00:58:28] And like and that money is never going to like do good things for you.

[00:58:32] Like, you know, like something bad is going to happen and you're going to have to use that money.

[00:58:37] Yeah, I agree.

[00:58:39] Because no, I just like that is disgusting.

[00:58:42] Like what the F?

[00:58:44] Messenger, you're so strong.

[00:58:45] Your sister is really strong.

[00:58:47] And, you know, I hope like y'all, like you said, you have chosen family and I hope y'all have a lot of like support around you because.
