[00:00:15] I'm Kirsten. Hi, I'm Sasha. And this is Mess Magnets. We're back, baby. Sorry, everyone, that I was not here last week. You're fucking kidding me. But there's just like a lot going on right now in my home and it's not 100% resolved, but it's almost resolved. So that's exciting. Honestly, I hope you posted like selfies with your hair.

[00:00:40] Because listen, Kirsten made up for missing the pod with having really good hair today. I thank you so much. I when did I wash my hair? I guess yesterday. So at least it's kind of clean. That's all I can say. What was yesterday Monday? No, I washed my hair today. You're like we're on the same schedule. Yeah, I normally do wash my hair on Sundays, but on my flex weeks I have spin on Monday

[00:01:10] mornings. So I like to do it after that. Yeah, but I couldn't even go to spin class because I couldn't get my car off of our road because of snow yesterday morning. I was like, I can drive in the snow. I lived in Calgary like I'm a good winter driver. No big deal. But then our cars tires were not equivalent like up to the task of driving up a sheet of ice, which is what the road was. And it's a hill. So it was like it wasn't happening.

[00:01:40] So I had to turn. I had to pull into a driveway, turn right around and head down the hill back to the garage. Oh, absolutely not. Absolutely not. Oh my God. And in Oklahoma, it just like ice is over. So you're just like figure skating with your car. It's terrible. Yeah, I think I don't go out in the cold. That's what it was like here. It doesn't really get that cold here. It doesn't really snow here. It's like we might get one week a year.

[00:02:08] That's like this and the city is not equipped to handle it. So everything just shuts down for like less than an inch of snow because nobody knows what they're doing. Relatable. But this was like we we actually got a couple inches. So it's a real snowfall, I would say. But I'm like, God, will it melt? Will ever melt? There was a child playing in the snow outside of my window today. And I was like, why aren't they at the park? Why are they at my home? Go to school. Why are you skipping school?

[00:02:38] All the school was closed because of the snow. Oh, my. Truly the best time of my life when like you had to look on the TV. Um, and be like, it's my school closed. Yeah. Perfection. For me, it was like it was a local radio station that would announce the closures. And so you'd be like laying in bed in the dark, just like praying that they would say your school did not have bus service that you could stay home.

[00:03:09] Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Well, enough talking about just absolutely irrelevant stuff. I'd like to say for the record, I think Sasha's hair also looks really nice. But. Absolutely not. It's fine. It's fine. We move to the Grammys, baby. Yes. A big week for awards shows. Could I just say something like I've been talking about at work? It's Grammys related, not like holy nonsense.

[00:03:39] But I have personally just been like total doom and gloom. Right. Like just with like how the world has been, you know, the world, the circumstances, whatever you want to say. Anyway, but I am a known hater of what is it of award shows in general, Oscars leading the way. So but something in me was like, I'm just going to watch the Grammys like Beyonce, you know, a couple of Carter.

[00:04:07] Like, let's see what happens, basically. And it felt like such a bright spot this time. Like overall, the Grammys was just like so nice. And I loved it and appreciated it. And like chef's kiss. So I just just want to say I loved it so much. And I'm appreciative of the Grammys this year. That's all.

[00:04:32] I mean, I did not watch the whole Grammys, but I saw the parts I needed to see because I'm like, I just I don't like award shows that much. Like, I'm I know that we sit and we talk about pop culture and we talk about red carpets. But like, we're just not it for me personally. Yeah. There was so much good news from the Grammys this year that it was just so exciting.

[00:04:59] Beyonce finally was awarded with album of the year, which she has been robbed of many times. Like, Lemon, like the fact that Lemonade didn't win album of the year. The fact that Renaissance didn't win album of the year. The fact that self title didn't win album of the year. It's literally it is literally crazy. And I do think Cowboy Carter is really excellent and absolutely deserving of it. Like.

[00:05:30] I, I don't know if I would rank it top of the ones we just talked about, but I see I think it's it was deserving and those other albums were also deserving. It's not like. I don't know. It's it might be one of those where they give it as more of a lifetime. Yeah, I will say that straight up like period. Self title is better. But here's the thing, Kirsten. I feel like because a lot of people just like the both of us are like, oh, cowboy Carter, right?

[00:06:00] Like it's almost like, hey, here you go. Finally. But I feel that genre defying and bringing, you know, so many people together, highlighting so many different artists, which she does a lot, especially for cowboy Carter and really like something that feels like a history lesson and reclaiming of said history. So that's why I don't I don't want to diminish it, but I still agree with you. Yeah, I know.

[00:06:29] I agree with you completely like it's to me, it's. Cowboy Carter deserved to win album of the year and those previous Beyonce albums also deserve to win album of the year. Like I don't think it was crazy. I know a lot of people really wanted Billie Eilish to win album of the year. And let me take a moment to say something controversial. Please. I don't like Billie Eilish. I think she's an incredibly talented singer. Yeah, I think her songwriting is good.

[00:07:00] However, what anytime I'm listening to a song that I really am liking for like two minutes and then like a meet at a certain point it turns into a horrible song. It's always a Billie Eilish song on my Spotify discover every time where I'm like, oh, yeah, I can get into this. And then all of a sudden I hate it. It's always her. She's not for me. Yes, she's very talented. I don't. I don't think she deserved album of the year.

[00:07:28] So sorry to the Billie fans, but the mess magnets are part of the beehive. Oh, correct. Correct. And not only that, I feel like when Billie Eilish had tears in her eyes when album of the year was announced, I felt like they were for Beyonce. I agree. But no, I agree. Yeah, I just I felt like that. And we know we know who deserved to win one.

[00:07:56] Finally, it just took 70 billion years. And can I just talk about the firefighters? Because first of all, shout out if you're a firefighter chef's kiss to you. You know, there's a reason why no one made a song after firefighters. It's always the other one period. OK, but it's the Grammys were like really focusing on, you know, L.A. fire relief and had the firefighters come in to announce the album of the year.

[00:08:25] And listen, Miss Sheila. Yes, that is her name. Miss Sheila Keller. Miss Sheila Keller. I love her. She's my bestie. When y'all, when she opens the envelope, the nominee, the winner envelope, and she looks at it and she hugs it in shock. I say I think Beyonce would. Because I don't think this like older lady is like going that hard for some of the other nominees. No offense.

[00:08:56] And the fact that she then like starts stuttering and says Carter first instead of cowboy. I'm obsessed with her. I just want to be her best friend because that would be my reaction. Like to be like, bitch, I'm about to meet Beyonce. Right. That's truly insane, especially considering that. Like when does Beyonce interact with with people? She never does.

[00:09:25] This is like a very rare opera. It's not like you're going to run into Beyonce like at the mall and get a picture with her or at dinner. Like she keeps herself very separate from the fan base with good reason. Mm hmm. Listen, shout out to her. Shout out to Sheila. This is crazy. And then apparently she said that Beyonce was like super kind and was like, do you guys want to take a picture with us like blue and Beyonce? And she got to hug her.

[00:09:55] I just I can't. I wow. I love that. I also love that Beyonce got to win best country album because you know, CMA's CMA's found shaking. Correct. Perfect. Uh, so wonderful. I really liked seeing Taylor Swift. Yeah. Give that award to her.

[00:10:16] Um, it was like I saw a lot of pictures posted like side by sides of at the VMAs when Beyonce invited Taylor up to make her speech after Kanye did his thing and then paired with then Taylor presenting an award to Beyonce. Yep. And I really wish that Beyonce had been wearing red to the Grammys because then it would have been like a full circle because they were both wearing red at the VMAs when that happened.

[00:10:45] And their hair is switched is the funniest. Yeah. Like I'm telling you, that's so funny. Um, so I thought that was exciting. Um, also I'll be a Ray Carter tour. Hello. It's coming. Maybe. Um, it's, it's a shorter tour and I'm very pissed off on account that I was like, great. I can go to the cowboy Carter tour and I don't have to travel because she's coming to San Francisco, obviously. Um, no. She's no. So I have to go.

[00:11:15] And I'm pissed. Like, I'm just like, why? What is the reason? At least you get to go. So there is not. Yeah. There are not many dates. So that'll be exciting. I will not have the opportunity to attend, but I'm very excited for you to get to go. Um, don't she also had a huge moment.

[00:11:41] This I'm an old, um, because yes, I I've heard of do she sorry. And I do like her music, but seeing do she amazing swamp princess queen. I like in the last maybe month, I have started getting 90% of my for you page on tick tock is people lip syncing to denial as a river. Oh, yes. Um, and it's so good. Her performance is amazing.

[00:12:10] Um, winning. Which one was it that she? Oh, best rap album. Thank you. And then winning best rap album. Three women, right? She's the third woman to ever win for best rap album. She gave an amazing acceptance speech that was really beautiful and really happy to see her success and see she's just another.

[00:12:38] There are so many artists right now that are out here doing the damn thing where they are so creative and what they're making is just so unique and entertaining and great. Like I would put her in obviously different genre, but same category is like a chapel row and where the performances are so thoughtful and interesting and just get the people going. Seriously.

[00:13:06] And the fact that Cardi B got to give her the award I thought was so beautiful because Cardi B is the last one. Um, but what's nuts is, uh, the women to Faith Hill and Cardi B that have won best rap album. Uh, not Faith Hill. Lauren Hill. Who are you Barbara from Abbott Elementary? Oh my God. But anyway, did not create sophomore albums.

[00:13:37] So, um, so we praying for you. Don't you? Cause yeah. Lauren, I said Faith Hill again. Oh my God. I, well, okay. And of Lauren, who is the. This one was Doji's sophomore album though, right? So does she break the curse? Yeah. Um, I wonder cause you already. Yeah. If she's already there, maybe. Cause I think I'm pretty sure this is. Her second EP. I might be wrong.

[00:14:07] I'm not an expert on these matters of anything of knowing anything. Well, yeah, I'm fricking old. I didn't know Doji existed until like two months ago. And I was okay. Correct. Yeah. So it's just, I just found that to be very funny. That, um, that it very sad cause Cardi B what the hell was happening? I desperately need Cardi B to make more music. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. And you are correct.

[00:14:35] Um, that she has, um, it looks like she has three mixtapes. Okay. Okay. Mm hmm. Well, we'll see what will happen there. Um, yeah. Chapel Rhone also had a couple of moments. Uh, outfit. I know. I love cause she is playing a part. She is in drag.

[00:15:00] She is not trying to be like glam or high fashion. Like she's making a statement and I love it. Um, she performed pink pony club with like this giant pink pony. And it was amazing. That's yeah. I saw someone say today, the only bad thing about pink pony club is you can only hear it for the first time once. Yep. Um, and I agree completely.

[00:15:29] And then when she won her Grammy for best new artist, which I think was a little bit of an upset, but I think was very deserved. Um, she took that time to demand that the music industry pay artists and developing artists fair wages and provide healthcare and talked about how she was dropped from her.

[00:15:53] She was signed as a like child and like dropped from her little and how hard that was. And I love that. She took the moment to really speak truth to power. She also on the red carpet made a statement in support of transgender people, which was also followed up. Gaga made a comment about like seeing, you know, and loving trans people and her acceptance speech as well.

[00:16:20] So there were definitely some wonderful kind of moments of resistance. Um, hello, abracadabra. She's back baby. Mayhem is coming in March. I can't wait. I'm so excited. Yeah. She's back. She's back. I really enjoyed it. And again, the girlies, like you said, we're just doing so well. I don't know what else to say. Like men need not apply for this year's Grammy. Like that's how good this is. Unless you're Kendrick Lamar.

[00:16:50] Okay. We use only one will allow because you know, big year for haters, but what was happening? You know what I mean? Um, and you, the way Benson Boone like put like stood up when Chapel Rhone was like talking about, um, healthcare. I said, why are you doing all those flips if you don't have healthcare? I, yeah, he's, uh, he's, he's in danger.

[00:17:15] I, if I was a teenager right now, I would have so many posters of Benson Boone on my walls. Like I would be obsessed. Yeah. I, I understand that. But I am an adult. So of course I do not. But I, all I want to say is it was just so nice because of the girlies and, uh, cause, cause I feel like people and, uh, wasn't it? Yeah.

[00:17:40] The Grammy's former president in 2018, uh, told reporters that women needed to step up to increase their representation, uh, to the industry and awards. And now look. Shut the hell up to that man. Um, wow. Uh, you might not know this Sasha, but Sabrina Carpenter had made a deal with herself that she would never eat McDonald's until she had won a Grammy. Oh my God.

[00:18:09] And so now she can try McDonald's for the first time. I hope she makes a video. Honestly, that's queen behavior. She's so funny. And the fact that I watched girl meets world and did not put together that that Sabrina Carpenter, that's her. Like she had me too long. I, I know she was nominated for best new artists this year, which I think is just an inherent flaw in the system because she's got like six albums. That is not a new artist.

[00:18:35] Like I would understand if like the earlier ones like didn't count or whatever, but at least like emails I can't send should have been the one to get her a nomination for best new artists, not as like short and sweet. That's crazy. I know. Genuinely crazy. Um, Kendrick Lamar accepted all those awards dissing Drake wearing maybe a Canadian tuxedo. Oh yeah.

[00:19:04] I love it. And when did Kendrick, when did I miss the train of Kendrick Lamar being pookie? Uh, I think this past summer. Yes. Oh, I think, I think like he's probably been pookie, but I think it like really solidified so cute in 2024. Just, oh my God. Like, uh, have you seen that video of someone squeezing his cheeks? No, I haven't.

[00:19:32] No, it's like the funniest video of my life. Oh no. And I said, wait, when did I miss this? Cause, um, folks were tweeting about like, how can you, like, how did you think that the world's big? Oh, this one. Personally, I really enjoy how Kendrick Lamar is the world's biggest hater while looking like a cute cinnamon roll. He really does. I. It's so cute. I cannot wait for his Super Bowl performance. Oh, I will be there. I will be seated.

[00:20:02] Um, honestly, he could just play not like us five times back to back and that would be fine by me. Of course, that's not what he's going to do, but that's fine. It's just, it's nuts on account that, um, it's a diss track first, just track to win. And on top of that, it's like, you have all these people singing a minor. And the thing is, he was, it was, I don't think it was supposed to go that far, but it's

[00:20:31] no, it took him so long to get on. He was walking slow on purpose so that the moment he stepped up to the stage, it would go certified lover boy, certified pedophile. Like, you cannot tell me that that was not planned by him. I'm telling you diabolical cinnamon roll that he is. Stay away from Kendrick. Do not mess with him. Yeah, he will get you.

[00:20:57] I'm telling you, I am looking for this video so I can send it to you so you can see him being pooky. I can't wait. It's, it's, um, really the funniest thing. I, obviously it's an award show. So they are flashing to Taylor Swift a bunch during the performance, which is honestly, I think it makes a lot of sense to do during award shows because she is the only artist who is consistently standing, dancing and singing along to every performance. Like she is really just vibing.

[00:21:26] She got, um, Janelle MonΓ‘e's jacket and then was wearing it the rest of the night. Then she's holding the champagne. She's toasting like with Jay-Z when Beyonce wins. Oh, she's well deserved. And Jay-Z was like, yeah, yeah. Well, I, cause Taylor knows she's won album of the year at times when Beyonce should have one album of the year. Remember when Harry Styles won?

[00:21:55] I am still so mad about that. And it's not because I like, don't like Harry Styles or don't think that's a good album. It just wasn't. Better than Renaissance. Renaissance? Come on. Ugh. It don't, oh, you just pissed me off. I know. It's okay. The thing is, again, like I said, this had to happen when it happened because the world feels so dark and I just, I don't know. Even if the shit was scripted, right? The whole Grammys. I literally do it again.

[00:22:23] Can we script this Super Bowl so that Kansas loses? Please, Lord. Okay. It's time. I do think. I know that's bad for you, but. I mean, it doesn't, I don't, it doesn't matter to me at all. Good. Not even Taylor Swift can make me care about football. Great. We're reading for hotties, AKA Jay-Z. But that being said, there is such a thing as Tay voodoo. And so the Chiefs might just keep winning as long as Travis and Taylor are together.

[00:22:51] The thing is, Tay voodoo unfortunately has, it doesn't matter on account that Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have sold their souls. So it was actually going on a while ago. So the devil has been. I. Holy in. Yeah. I also have been getting a lot on my timeline about me. It was like the NFL just also has a lot of riggery going on. So. I mean, it's a hundred percent true.

[00:23:19] I like watching it live is actually crazy. Cause you're just like, well, that was not that what you just said. I, I saw a viral post today that was like, how the hell does tennis have the technology where they can like tell when the ball is out and there is no such technology for football. Like the answer is that they don't want to have it. Correct. Um, I was also listening to a podcast about how the NFL like covered up the existence of

[00:23:48] CTE for so long. So I'm like just pretty anti football in general. Oh yeah. This is. Yeah. Yeah. This is all known. And let's never talk about Tom Brady's bitch ass and being a, no offense to Patriot fans, but being a cheater as well, deflate gate. But anyway, but yeah, I, and I know y'all going to be, ah, they said no. Okay. Baby. If you think the Kansas is it's riggery, then it's riggery the other way also. Okay. That's all I'll say. Patriot fans, but it's fine.

[00:24:18] It's fine. Right. You're so many. Um, I went to someone who was like obsessed with Tom Brady's like weird wellness coach and like. The thing is, I would like to know, I would like to copy paste on account that how you, how you this old. Uh, and he obviously had like the Chad surgery. Um, but I like to call it the sexy Squidward surgery.

[00:24:51] Cause my husband was like, Sasha, how does he look better now than when like blah, blah, blah. And I was like, when he was married to like a supermodel. So like, he had to like up his game. So like he had to like up his game. Secondly, like you, they know of surgeries that we don't even can't even comprehend. Cause him, Lindsay Lohan, Christina Aguilera, baby. They all go to the same guy in my mind. I don't know the reality. I will. I mean, certainly Christina and Lindsay are getting the same type of procedure.

[00:25:20] I saw TikTok once I was explaining what procedure it was. And I was like, that's out of my tax bracket. I got a call passed. I was like, uh, no, no, thank you. Um, but yeah, anyway, I don't know how we got here, but anyway, but the point is just like, I enjoyed Taylor. She was really funny. Um, I must say the outfit, um, did not work again. It was not for me. I know a lot of, I saw a lot of people posting, oh, it's a sleigh.

[00:25:49] I fear it's a sleigh. Oh, she is slaying. And I just, I think she looked beautiful because she always looks beautiful. She is beautiful. Like she's a beautiful woman. Like she's giving Barbie doll really. Um, but you and I talked about this privately. Like it was giving club, not fancy event. And I think, I think if the dress was just like a tiny bit longer, the line would have

[00:26:17] been a lot cleaner and just looked so elegant and beautiful. What'd you feel about the T? What was no, I don't, it's whether the T is for Travis, whether the T is for Taylor, it's embarrassing regardless. I do not like it. Um, am I crazy for saying like, because of her age, I feel like I can say this. They could have sexed it up a little bit. It was like a younger, you know, like that is as sexy as she gets.

[00:26:47] She gets Sasha. Yeah. I know. But I'm saying like, if we're going to do it, let's do it. I know. Yeah. It was a little weird. And everyone was like, oh, she's wearing red and gold for the chiefs, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, I've had enough. I've genuinely had enough. And what I don't know what's going on with her hair, but it was just evidence that the back of anybody's head is nobody's business because of the back of her head looks like that. Then I, I don't want to know what the back of mine looks like.

[00:27:14] Um, the main thing I did want to say about Taylor before we move on is the way she was getting down to not like us was hilarious. That picture of her raising the glass. Oh my God. Hater. One hater to another. Yeah. And I, I think that people are cause like she has a song featuring Kendrick Lamar, um,

[00:27:39] on 1989, his version of bad blood, which, and I have, which is continued. Like when she performs bad blood, she performs her version, but at the point of the song, she says, um, like if you love like that blood runs cold or I can't even remember which part is without hearing it, but the whole audience screams, you forgive, you forget, but you never let it go, which is Kendrick's lyric. And she's mouthing along when we do it.

[00:28:08] Like that's part of the performance. She loves Kendrick. And I think she must have some sort of undisclosed Drake beef to be so excited about all of this. Just so funny. Cause it's everyone is hated. It's so good. It's wonderful. Uh, and then there was the baby face interview. That I have not seen. So I need you to tell me about it. Oh, you have no, see, this is why, unfortunately I have kept my Twitter.

[00:28:37] I do not tweet, but, um, we need it for these reasons. Yeah, this is send it to you because it's so crazy. Okay. Oh my God. Like it's going to be bad. So, um, what happened, what happened was I'm just kidding. But what happened is the AP, um, the associated press again, high level, um, had in, they were interviewed. One of the women was interviewing baby face.

[00:29:06] And, um, it, it seemed like a really good interview. It was going, he was talking a little slow, but like whatever he's an R and B. He's just, uh, sorry. Let me back up in case folks don't know baby faces. Baby face is a 12 time Grammy award winning recording artist songwriter producer. He's contributed to over like 800 million records sold.

[00:29:30] He's produced like 125, I think like top 10 hits, numerous R and B hits 16. Number one pop hits. All right. Baby face is not someone you just like at Christian. Just watch the video. I'm pissed. I'm literally fuming. That's why I was like, no, you need to watch this. So yes. So that's happening. All right. So this is who baby faces. So she obviously, so this woman asked, um, baby face an interview. And then there's, there's two girls asking it.

[00:30:00] And the first one, the, sorry, there's one that's not asking the interview. Uh, sorry. That's not conducting the interview. And she's like being a little weird. And it's like, she doesn't know what to do with her body. She's like trying to get out of the camera angle. So she goes backwards, but like, she's doing it and it's attracting so much attention to her. Uh, like she's like wiggling, like she thinks she should go. Right. Like doing the like belly roll. It's weird. It's a, it's giving weird. Yeah.

[00:30:28] So then she, and you can tell that the, um, there's a producer in the back actually nudging her. And I think she thought that the producer was telling her to get out of the way, which is why she did such an awkward, like wiggle. Then he, then this person, sorry, I don't know if this producer is a heat, nudges her again. And while baby face is talking, not that there's a pause, not that there's anything while baby face is talking. She goes, chapel, chapel, chapel.

[00:30:57] And baby face is like, Oh, it looks like you obviously are done with this. And just leaves. And it's baby face has not gotten to respond to the question at all. No. The interviewer asks a long winded question. Like it spends a long time talking. And then baby face has like two minutes of no, not too much, like two seconds of trying to formulate an answer to a honestly really complicated question for a red carpet interview.

[00:31:26] It's not like you have a dedicated time. I just timed it. And yeah, then they pull chapel run over and here's the thing. Maybe they don't realize what, maybe she doesn't know what happened in the moment. But I feel like if chapel run sees this clip, she's going to be pissed that she was used to disrespect another artist in this way. I'm sure. I'm sure. It's just, it's so cringe. It's so terrible. They like had her had this woman apologize. But the thing is they need to apologize.

[00:31:55] The producer who's obviously nudging her needs to also be caught. And the other woman that that was interviewing baby face, I feel like shouldn't be caught in this because you can tell she's like, I'm so sorry, baby face. I'm so sorry. It's just, it's very disrespectful. And I'm thinking, right, like we have done like on podcast interviews. There's just ways to like segue without being disrespectful.

[00:32:25] I, I don't care if Dr. Will himself was coming up. If I was in the middle of talking to someone, I'm going to let them finish their thought and get it out and say, thank you so much for your time. And we need to move on to the next person. Now. Thank you. Have a great time at the Grammys. Like there is an absolutely no reason to be so unprofessional and so rude and disrespectful

[00:32:51] to anyone, let alone like a extremely talented and influential artist. Yeah. And then people are like, oh, she's an influencer. She's that. But I'm pretty sure that she's an actual journalist. But the problem is in case you were wondering, I think she's white. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it doesn't make it. Yeah. Like, I don't think it's like she is an influencer.

[00:33:19] I really think that once you just rude and has zero. Um, like a serum, like a media training. I don't what's what's the word. I'm like, why? How do you? How do you end up on a red carpet with a microphone in a professional capacity and no one's taught you how to act in the world? I've never been trained on what to do on a red carpet. And I can assure you that would never occur to me as an OK thing to do. Like, it's insane.

[00:33:47] Like, I think we just eat it that we maybe don't get. Um, we maybe like don't get the chapel interview. Right. Or what the hell are the producers in the back doing? I feel there's a way to be respectful and still get the chapel interview. Mm hmm. Personally. Yeah. I think that the producer can go talk to chapel people and be like, we're just wrapping up with baby face. Like, and could you just wait five seconds? You know, whatever. Yeah.

[00:34:15] Like, I don't I'm so confused how this shit happens. And again, I really think that it's a lack of like literacy around artists that are not white. A hundred percent. And that's just it. And that's and there's no fucking excuse for that. Yeah. Even if you like didn't know before, if you're going on the red carpet, you should be learning everyone who's going to be there and be prepared.

[00:34:43] Like do your homework, do your studying. Even if you had like that lack of awareness beforehand, there's no excuse to have it when you're going on the red carpet. I'm sorry. It's that's crazy. It's just it's so terrible. And and the thing speaking of red carpet terror or Kanye West. I'm. So sick to my stomach. I thought him and Bianca divorced.

[00:35:13] But I. Well, I think that her family wants them to be divorced and maybe she would like to be divorced. But I can't. It's it's so scary. Like the this. So they walk the red carpet. They were not invited to the Grammys. And they did get were invited. The Grammys, like I said, they were. And I thought they weren't deleted. OK, well, I thought they weren't invited. Yeah. OK, they they walk to our carpet. They got asked to leave because of the illegal nature.

[00:35:42] They said I'm pretty sure security asked them to leave. They weren't escorted, but that could be the safe face. I'm OK. Well, allegedly they were not escorted off. But in my eyes, there's ain't no way that they weren't because that was crazy. And yeah, in the clips, you can tell like she doesn't want to take off the jacket. Like I think that that's a big part of discourse that's missing, because I think a lot of people see this and they think.

[00:36:09] Well, everyone's always all for it when like Miley Cyrus doesn't want to wear any clothes or when whatever other person does. It's like that's a person who has full agency and control of what's happening, who clearly wants to be out in that specific type of look. She this one very clearly is not comfortable, doesn't want to do it and is like being made to like there's no you can't tell me otherwise.

[00:36:37] It's like obviously a black fur coat. And you can tell in the video, like she looks so uncomfortable and he's like it feels like his demeanor changes when he talks to her. And you can tell because she's like chase shaking her head. No. And he's like, no, just do it. Just do it. And then she turns around and then she starts taking her jacket off. It's just it's not like this is like a view.

[00:37:05] It yeah, that's how it looks to me as well. And I just think it's so scary that he just found a woman who looks so much like his ex-wife to humiliate at every opportunity. And she doesn't seem happy. And I just want her to be safe and OK because I'm it's so troubling. Yeah, it's so bad.

[00:37:31] And the fact that she has censor in her name just like really takes me out. Like it's just and for folks, I don't know Kanye West's wife like was fully naked with like a sheer like. Like like the clip. She was wearing like the sheerest slip in the world. It was hiding nothing. I saw everything like her. I know her biblically now.

[00:37:58] Yeah, like even like usually I feel like you can't see her. But I don't know like I'm not trying to make it better. It's just like it's appalling. And like he's so disgusting because he's a she he like wrote of her quote unquote. Dress saying custom couture Grammy just maybe who is doing this?

[00:38:23] That is how you going to say it's custom culture and not give credit to the stylist or the designer. Give me the name so that I can call the police. I'm not really someone who normally wants to call the police. But in this situation, I'll make an exception. And it's like disgusting because then there's little kids. Have you seen that picture of that little kid like peering over to look at her? No. And here's the thing, Republicans. Why aren't y'all mad at this stuff? Why?

[00:38:53] Because Kanye is one of y'all. Well, it's just it's one of those things where what people are saying does not actually match what they are believing. So not good. So that happened. And I don't know if you know this, but Kanye West is following only one person on Instagram without looking. Do you know who it is? I did hear this already. And what I need to say to that is Taylor Swift, why haven't you blocked this man? Yeah.

[00:39:23] Well, what are we getting out of here? He shouldn't be allowed to see your shit. That's crazy. Yep. So in case folks didn't get it. Yeah, he's only following one person and it's Taylor Swift. Hey, what are we doing in the world guys? I'm confusion. There's a lot going on. Okay. Is that everything? Yes. I feel we've sufficiently covered. Yeah. And the Quincy Jones tribute was really beautiful as well. Mm hmm. So, yeah, I just wanted to say that.

[00:39:53] And Alicia Keys killing it. I wish she performed. Yeah. After the Super Bowl. I don't know. Maybe you're correct. Okay. He's now following three people. Oh, okay. I know this time himself and oh, wait, is this someone else? Oh, I lied. That was a different. Um, now he's only following his wife. Okay. Well, that's more appropriate. Yeah.

[00:40:22] Oh, he's calling it the invisible dress. Okay. Well, good for him. Are you not embarrassed? There. He's missing the gene for shame. I don't. Yep. Anyway. Oh, he's so gross. He's like posting search terms for her. We're Teresa and Nemo. And that's why we switched to Shopify. Anyway, okay, we must. We must. Um, Carla-Sophia Gascon. Oh, oh my God. So, Gia and I like opened up a portal is what happened because we talked about Amelia Perez last week.

[00:42:19] So check that out, Gia. Obviously you killed it again. Slayed. Um, so then, okay. So after that, I feel like a few hours after all of Carla's tweets have come out and these are so terrible anti-immigrant anti-Muslim, like you name it, it is anti that. Okay. And I was reading this tweet where it, that they were saying that it's like so much worse than Spanish.

[00:42:47] And I truly understand what that means because if I were to like, um, translate a Hindi, like, you know, even curse words, like it just won't hit the same. Mm-hmm. Like it just won't. Um, and, and it's just like so gross. So all of these tweets come out and people are like, Oh my God, there's like an Oscar front runner, blah, blah, blah. Now all this backlash happens.

[00:43:11] Oscar, like Amelia Perez, um, has basically like removed, uh, Carla from all of like their Oscar campaign. Zoe Saldana has like now become front and center, which like, wake up bitches. This whole movie is effed up. Yeah. Like to me, the least surprising thing in the world is that someone who was very involved

[00:43:36] in this movie that is so insensitive and horrible has said horrible things. It's, it's just not surprising. Yeah. And Carla Sofia Gasan has like fully imploded because now that this came out, she goes on CNN, Espanol and, uh, and does an hour long interview that has not been authorized by anyone.

[00:44:03] And the interview, I watched some of it, but basically it's like so bad. It's like, it's almost like people could have been like, if she just shut up, usually this stuff goes away because people, you know, the, the media cycle has is very short time memory, but she like goes great. Like not. Well, and it's, it's normally like stuff like this where it's from, I don't know the details actually. How long ago are these tweets? It was a long ago.

[00:44:32] I think it's like 10 years ago. Okay. Yeah. So like normally when it's stuff like that, where it's been years ago, generally speaking, if you make a statement, I was dumb as fuck and I've learned a lot in the last 10 years and I just didn't know that those tweets are out there to delete. And I'm sorry. Yep. And I, that, that, that no longer represents me. Oh no. Make a donation on 2020. I'm alive. Oh, yikes. Yeah. Oh no. Okay. Well then nevermind.

[00:45:02] I take it back. Normally when stuff is like purely historical, it like fades away with a good enough apology and like proper accountability. Um, because like growing up, like we know like just stuff was, it's like lawless. People said stuff that terrible. Now you look back and you think, well, how could anyone say that? But it was just part of normal course of the day that you would see those kinds of things.

[00:45:29] And so again, like generally speaking, grace will come for people that take appropriate accountability for their past actions. But if the action never stopped, then how are you going to sit here and say, I'm not racist. I'm not hateful, but you've been saying racist and hateful things in the last five years. Yep. And I'm not even going to like repeat. Cause I know. Yeah. It's just like, they're truly heinous. What she said about even George Floyd.

[00:45:57] Um, and she ends up like starting the interview. She deactivated her Twitter account, but she starts the interview, like, you know, sincere apology, blah, blah, blah. But then she like double, like almost be like, I've never insulted a person because of their skin color. Um, I do not allow that to anyone, blah, blah, blah. But then she starts getting angry and starts waving a finger and starts defending herself, um, against like Islamophobia.

[00:46:27] And she's talking through like tears, but she's actor. So, you know, whatever. And she's like, I have a deep personal relationship with Muslim women. So what I'm Muslim friends, um, whom I adore. And she taught me so much of our respect for people. And she said that she was opposed was radical Islam.

[00:46:46] I, and again, I like truly living in India, like my mom, um, went like Mr. Train. And that was like, that was, that blew up, um, by terrorists in India. Um, but she missed it. Missed the train. And even then I would never be like Islam. No, they're just terrorists. And, and guess what? Every religion actually had terrorists.

[00:47:16] What the F are the Crusades? Well, it's no, that's the thing where it's like, you can't sit there and say, no, I'm only against radical. Yeah. Well, then you need to be against the radical expressions of every religion of which they exist. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Okay. And, uh, it's just, it's terrible. And she, and she just like says a bunch of stuff, basically. Oh, and of course, anti-Semitism. Are we surprised?

[00:47:46] Um, and, uh, she's like, I don't understand such a world war against Hitler. She also talked about she, because she's saying that. Yeah. Some of the tweets were misinterpreted. Um, and they were not, they were not expressing her opinions, but rather voicing a hypocritical opinion. She condemned. No, no, no. That is the most like, who is this? Is this like a boyfriend trying to gaslight you?

[00:48:14] Like what, what explanation is this? That is insane. Yeah. It is very clear when someone is condemning an opinion of verse simply amplifying it. That is good. Hashtag sarcasm, right? Like something. But either way, I'm not tweeting about Hitler and being like, I'm being sarcastic. Shut. No, I wouldn't. What, what are we doing? Oh, my God. It's crazy because, um, the, the tweets obviously look like she's defending Hitler. And she goes, there's the same old story.

[00:48:44] You know, black folks are slaves. Women are in the kitchen. But it's my opinion that it must be, and it must be respected. I do not understand such a world war against Hitler. He simply had his opinion about the Jews. And that's how the world goes. I, Kate, I'm sorry. What are we not doing here? This is so absurd. Like this person is a fool.

[00:49:11] And they went on like freaking an interview with obviously zero PR training. Idiot. And, but here's the thing. She is in an Oscar race right now. Yes. She has received PR training. She is just not using it. Like. Yeah. And then like, she said, she calls Selena Gomez, Gomez stuff. And she's saying that's just not my tweet. Like that's just a lie.

[00:49:40] Um, yeah. And now Netflix has come out. And like I said, they've already like started putting Zoe Saldana on the front. But, um, Netflix has distanced herself. Um, basically saying like, they're not going to pay for any of her travel for any of the thing. Um, and it's just like, this is so ridiculous.

[00:50:07] All you had to do was shut up and listen to what like Netflix was saying. And then like decide from there. But you know, this is like what narcissists do. Um, and, and it's so unfortunate because like, she's the first openly trans person to like be nominated for best actress. And then like, here we go. You know, like, what, what are we doing this? Um, and Netflix says like, they're not gonna. Yeah. Um, they're not gonna cover any of her expenses, travel, um, styling, nothing.

[00:50:37] And if she intends to make these stops, it would fall on her to pay for everything from her airfare to her accommodation. Um, it just only apparently paid like 100,000 euros for the film. Okay, well. So, maybe girl, you ain't got no money and now you're a racist too. That's so horrible. It's so, so, so unfortunate. Foolish.

[00:51:04] And this is why Oscars, you like pay attention to what films you're giving, you're highlighting. I, the fact that that it'd be wicked is so insane to me personally, but that's why you already addressed that last week. Yeah. Um, well, knock on wood, hopefully there's no more, uh, Amelia Perez drama, but there probably will be. So we'll talk about it when it happens.

[00:51:33] Uh, 1 million percent. Uh, and then now, uh, oh, and then the next thing is, sorry, the Met Gala theme just got announced. Yes, it's going to be so good. What? And I just can't wait for like the DEI, um, people to come. But currently we're happy. Um, and the Met Gala, fashion's biggest night, baby.

[00:52:01] Um, they, they just gave their theme that, um, oh, this apparently was out in October. What? Um, was out October 9th. I think we just signed this out. I think that we announced who everyone is. Yeah. They just announced you like the board is, is going to be. Um, but I didn't know the theme.

[00:52:24] So, uh, the theme is called super fine tailoring black styles, and it's going to be drawing inspiration from Monica Miller's book, uh, slaves to fashion, um, black dandyism and the styling of black diasporic identity. So it's a lot about like, um, black expressionism, um, freedom, respectability, um, and all of that.

[00:52:49] And really like focusing on heritage, beauty, uh, and you know, cosmopolitanism. And I was like, what? Cosmopolitanism. Cosmopolitanism. Cosmopolitanism. Am I alright? Um, my brain is like, you are. You're fine. Anyway, so who's hosting? This felt fascinating. Um, because the host committee is Coleman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton and his fine ass,

[00:53:17] ASAP Rocky, which I'm like, ASAP Rocky got a lot going on right now. Um, Pharrell Williams and of course, Anna Wintour will be the co-chairs. And LeBron James is going to be the honorary chair. Okay. And then the host committee is Andre 3000, uh, Chinnamanda Ngoziachide, which, um, if folks know, uh, Beyonce's, um, Flawless, and they have like, uh, a poet right speaking.

[00:53:47] That's, um, who, uh, Chinnamanda is. Chinnamanda is. I think I'm not saying it right. And I'm sorry. Um, Jordan Castile, uh, Joichi, uh, Ayo, uh, all like, and then it's like Angel Reese, uh, and, um, our, uh, Shikari, Tila Usher. Oh, yes. And I believe Simone Biles, I read somewhere else, but she's not on those things.

[00:54:16] I, I, I mean, she'll be there. Certainly. Well, Biles and her husband, I saw their names, but like, I don't see it on this. So I'm just going to say it's not there. Uh, Janelle Monae. Like, this is so exciting. I am so excited to see the looks. I hope that everybody really embraces the theme fully and we don't see just a ton of black suits. Yup.

[00:54:41] Um, and I, I feel like at least like this dress code has extremely clear guidelines for everyone. And so there's no excuse for the men to half ass it. Okay. Cause that's exactly what I was thinking. I was like, just Google men were so swaggy. Please look it up. Don't embarrass us. I get the very least.

[00:55:09] We'll get some patterned suits, which will be really nice. And I'm excited to see all of it. And I would be great. What? Um, I would reach out to Derek guy. Um, and where guy. And be like, help me out. If I'm a man. I honestly, if I was a man, I would probably just like, be like Derek. I helped me build a capsule wardrobe. Correct.

[00:55:37] And help me dress for every event because that man knows what he's doing. Correct. And I love that for us. So I hope that that happens. Um, but either way, like, please don't show up with some nonsense. That's what I know. Yes. So yeah, I'm just, I'm excited. This feels cool. Um, something different. Um, and I'm surprised Zendaya isn't on the committee, but I think, but you know, it is what it is. She's planning a wedding. She's busy.

[00:56:03] Uh, and now I'm so excited to talk about this because this is outrageous and not that it overshadowed, um, the Beyonce tour. But like, I was so overwhelmed as a sports girly that this both dropped at the same time. And I'm so excited for you to tell me about it because I know a little bit based on what you told me on Sunday while we were playing goose goose dog, but I very specifically have

[00:56:33] avoided the news because it's sports. So it's time for you to explain sports to me. It's sports time. I'm just kidding. So, um, Luca Donchic, who is a, this is very important. 25 year old basketball player. Okay. Very good basketball player. Um, was the, the player on the Dallas Mavericks. All right. Okay. Um, just 10 o'clock our time. So 12 something.

[00:57:03] Um, so one time. Oh, well in Dallas time, Dallas. I'm sorry. Yeah. Well, something gets announced that Luke is being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. And when I tell you people thought this, the, um, the man of rub, like is the NBA insider who everyone goes to now. His name is Shams Charania. Um, it used to be someone named a Woj or Wojnowski, but okay. Uh, has moved on.

[00:57:33] Um, and I think he's, yeah, he's coaching for like his alma mater. So Shams Charania is like the guys who they're like Shams is like how his hat. Cause okay. And her folks are like, what the F does this mean? Players get traded all the time. No, walk with me here a little bit. Cause I've seen a lot of like people talking about this, but I just feel like they're wrong and they're not understanding the magnitude. So, okay. Um, Luca has been traded for AD. Okay. On the Lakers. I believe that.

[00:58:03] And tell me like what your equivalents are people. But I believe that it's like destiny's child. Okay. Prime destiny child. Beyonce is traded to spice girls. But spice girls have just like posh has gotten married already. Okay. And pregnant. Right? Like so spice, like size girls are like kind of on their way to, to being done.

[00:58:29] So they trade for baby spice. Not scary. Not posh. Maybe posh, you know, depending on how much you like AD, but definitely the number two of spice girls. Okay. So. Not a great, not a great trade. All right. Right. Yeah. And, and spice girls win. Cause they get Beyonce and destiny. Like at her peak.

[00:58:59] So here's people are like, why are we trading a player? That's 25 years old. So in his prime for a 31 year old. Player who is injured all the time. They, they didn't even ask for LeBron James. So now Luca and LeBron James are going to be on the same team. And like, that really sucks for my Oklahoma Thunder. Cause we are number one right now, but. The Lakers want to really run it. But anyway, not the point.

[00:59:29] That's my own personal, but I just don't understand why the F you would trade away your star that just took you to the finals the year before. And did it in the middle of the night. And they didn't like say, Hey, all teams, let's start a bidding war. Okay. They just said, they just texted Luca and said, you're out. And Luca found out online. LeBron James. No, no online.

[00:59:57] LeBron James said he was at dinner when he found out. Oh my God. And AD, like the guy that got traded for him found out online. So imagine like you, you trade away your franchise player, right? Someone could that could have really built your whole team for years to come. Just for not for basically nothing. For two players. One was always injured. And to be fair, like Luca be injured too.

[01:00:25] But Luca took them to a final. And when I tell you my friends were in shambles, my friends were crying. Of course. Not crying. Like they were just like, this is all we had. I don't understand. Chappelle's in shambles. Our friend Jason is in shambles. Oh, love it. Mess. Mess. So if you're Dallas, like, if you're a Mavs fan, I see you. Okay.

[01:00:55] And I don't think it's Mavs fan for life. And Kirsten, you might be wondering why, why would they trade him? Right. Why would you trade your star player? Well, yes. According to shams again, the NBA insider, the Mavs are making a bet against his body, his ability to be in shape on him potentially severely declining. He's 25 years old and they traded for a 31 year old. That's always injured. I'm sorry.

[01:01:24] What? And I'm told he's been there's been some friction between Luca and the team's medical performance staff. They basically are saying he's too fat. No, the NBA player. He's like enough five 250 270 pounds. Like it's not a skinny legend. Yeah. Like what? Oh, my God.

[01:01:51] This is sports are so one serious one serious. And then every single sport like NBA player has been tweeting like a shocked face emoji. And then and here's the thing someone from like the Warriors. So Lavina's favorite player, Klay Thompson went to Dallas and you and he is now pissed because he's like, I just went to Dallas for Luca and I look a girl.

[01:02:22] Yeah, it's bad. So that's a Luca trade. And like a book keeps saying like something sinister is about to come out about Luca because there's no way this is so ridiculous. But long story short, I think that it's just the owners didn't get along with him and their new owners now. And then they needed an excuse.

[01:02:44] So they were like, he's fat, which he is explicitly not based on any metric that he's not the early 2000. And I can't take it. It was hard enough when I was a literal child. And now I'm an adult and I can't meet these expectations. And it's hard. Like, what are we doing? And you know what? We should have had Chappelle on for this segment. And I'm kicking myself now. Sorry, Chappelle.

[01:03:12] Well, he can send a voice memo that will include in next week's mess magnets if he's listening. Oh, my gosh. No, he does. He tells me. But here's what the old Mavericks owner Mark Cuban had to say. If I had to choose between my wife. Is this real or is this? Wait, Mark Cuban like Mark Cuban. Yeah, Mark Cuban. Mark Cuban owned the maps. Not anymore. Um. I'm pretty. OK, if this is NBA Centennial, I blocked them. So I hope it's not NBA Centennial.

[01:03:43] Um, but then if I did their total account and I hate them. Um, if I had to choose between my wife and keeping Luke on the mask, catch me at the lawyer's office prepping for a divorce. Oh, my God. On how far he would go to keep Luca. It's a bit extreme. No, but that's the. That's what we're trying to like. They let go of like someone that they could have built for the next 10 years. They could have built around him.

[01:04:12] Oh, heck. Outrageous. It's so crazy. I do not care for this. Mm hmm. Um, so yeah, it's outrageous. Um, I don't understand. They basically like forced Mark Cuban out. Um, I think like Mark Cuban is like a minority owner. He's still an owner, I guess, but whatever. Um, he didn't have enough pole.

[01:04:42] Yeah. So that's. Yeah. So like, like I told you and every single, uh, like NBA player has been like, man, I'm so worried now. I'm so worried now. I don't know what's going to happen. Um, oh, and the funniest pieces, all these other NBA, uh, NBA stars are like low key known to be like, I hurt baby hurt baby sit down. Okay. It's like a soccer player situation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:05:12] Cause you know, it's like, it's only a flight five player team. Right. So like everyone knows who you are. So Joel Embiid. Okay. Who has played? Wait, I need to know his injury stats. Cause I almost like fell over. Uh, no, he has a days played here. It is. So Joel Embiid, um, is on the, it's on Philadelphia. So not the same team, but it doesn't matter.

[01:05:35] Um, he, uh, I has missed like 15 games just this year already. And how many games have there been? I mean, there's a lot of games to be fair, but still he's missed a lot. Um, 19 plus 29. That's how many games have been. Um, it's like 40. I need to. Anyway, there was this statistic I saw when I was watching, uh, um, the game and I like,

[01:06:03] I can't find it, but he's basically. Oh yeah. Okay. So he's been active for four 46 of 850 games. Hello? In 10 seasons. Oh my God. Okay. And as soon as this got announced, it was like a whole list of like Joel Embiid active, this person active, this person active. No, this is so unserious. This is so silly.

[01:06:29] He's been sitting out for 15 games. That's like what you. So, and so based on the numbers you gave, I think that means there's been 48 games. So he has been out for almost one third of them. 15 straight. Yeah, 15 straight. Oh my God. He's only been active like 50% of his career. I, and okay, we got to move on. Enough.

[01:06:59] The sports sports is over. Goodbye. The next one is sports, but it's not actually do not look this up until right now. Um, so yeah, so that's a Luca Dante. Well, like again, NBA is like so messy and I love them. Um, okay. So anyway, now, um, I need you to know, I'll tell you when open this up. So now we're going to talk about Matt Barnes. Um, very crazy player. I don't know.

[01:07:26] Like he's an ex basketball NBA player, but like, wow, boy. Um, his wife was on basketball. Okay. So dramatic family. Yes. Um, I believe Matt. Yeah, I believe that. And we've talked about him before because his wife is the one that left him for his. Um, or like, uh, yeah, I'm pretty sure. Yes. Okay. Jason. Well, maybe and Jason kid wasn't like fully his coach, but it doesn't matter.

[01:07:56] Coach adjacent. Yeah. So anyway, Matt Barnes is known. Um, deviant. I don't know how else to say I think Matt Barnes is a mess. Okay. So his fiance, I need you to now open this and scroll down. So he's beyond his fiance, not Beyonce. His fiance drops eight names of the people that he has cheated on her with in January alone. And here's how she does it.

[01:08:26] And I'm not, I'm not joking. Like this really happened. So she deleted it. Of course, boo, tomato, tomato. So the, the caption says y'all can have him. Okay. And she goes at Masika. First of all, we know Masika. Masika is loving hip hop. Okay. What's going on? So cause at Masika allegedly January 18th to 19 Denver trip allegedly back on since summer 2024. At Autumn London. Allegedly her place January 20th.

[01:08:56] She allegedly told me it's been going on six years. At Portia Thomas. Allegedly, according to messages. Um, at the next person allegedly according to messages at two more people. Uh, no, at Corinne Silverberg from at the face of childhood hunger. Oh my God. Allegedly told me it's been going on seven years. At Ashley Lorde. Allegedly is currently, uh, she allegedly is currently, uh, allegedly currently does our car insurance.

[01:09:24] Um, at another one allegedly according to messages at someone else's name. She couldn't, and she tagged all of these people. I want to make. Yeah. And I just, what is this a mess magnets episode? She says allegedly like 125,000 times. Like when I tell you, we see basketball unserious. Um, especially one where it's like, allegedly she told me. Okay. Yes. Protect yourself from lawsuits. Queen.

[01:09:53] And she literally said, I once loved a man so much that I was fixing him while he was breaking me. Why Matt? Eight different women in January heartbreak. What are we doing? We must've like, no. I'm dead. This is so crazy. Y'all. This post is insane. Genuinely insane. And can I say one anti-woman thing? Because we support all women, but like y'all.

[01:10:22] We support women's rights and wrongs. I'm going to have to defer judgment until after I hear what you have to say. These women are effing beautiful. Every single one of them. Okay. I don't think that's anti-woman. No, I'm so like, and I hate that. You know what I mean? Like, because the thing is, is like, what is this episode? This man is not. Um, no, Matt has like that bad boy. Unfortunately, Aura.

[01:10:53] He'd be having all the bad, the baddies behind him. I, and I, he must have some pheromones or something. Cause these, these photos of him are not working for me personally. Not anymore. Um, but boy, he's a mess. Yeah. Him and Gloria. That's who it was. Oh my God. Uh, mess. That's so messy. Yeah. Can you believe that?

[01:11:23] Imagine. I, this article is also so unserious. Cause it goes now just months after the birth of their second child, Sims explosive allegations have left many wondering if their relationship is beyond repair. She said y'all can have him. And girl, if you go back to him, it's giving Cardi levels of embarrassing. And I can't handle that from another baddie. No. Yeah.

[01:11:48] Like all each, one of these women, you should all be in a group chat being like, we are too beautiful for this. Period. For this reason. He does kind of look like a reason. Do you think he's like, I played with Kobe and I have a right. Like, is that it? Why? Why is that enough for anybody? He just, I agree. Like what? Like, I don't know if I'm looking to date an athlete. Well, this is an ex athlete anyway, but this ain't it.

[01:12:17] Matt Barton is quite like any, we know has anger. Okay. Can I say something like that might be a little anti woman? Yeah. I am so confused why it's become such a thing that people are like, I will have babies with someone, but not marry them. I don't get it. I do not understand. Like, I don't think you have to be married to have kids by any means, but I feel like it's so weird the way it's like,

[01:12:44] it's treated like a marriage is more permanent than children when it's quite explicitly the other way around. I just find it so bizarre. Yep. They're not even married. Eight women in January. You cannot go back to that man. Stand up. It's just so ridiculous. Oh, my God. Okay. Well, I'm really glad I didn't look at that until you told me to because that was I'm telling you.

[01:13:14] I am like I need everyone to like look at it because like go look at it. Like she literally has like put their at I like to tag people like that is crazy. Right? I that is reckless messy behavior and I love it. I love it. And the fact that she deleted a girl. No, no stand on business. You embarrass him.

[01:13:41] And the thing is like it's embarrassing for you too because like what what's your man doing that like how what are we doing that we're staying apart this much? I don't know. He I don't know like even work. What Matt what does Matt Barnes do for I was gonna say does this man have a job? It seems like he's very busy for someone who has a job. No, obviously his job is philander. Philander. Oh my God. That's crazy.

[01:14:11] But I'm just a confusion. Um, yeah, like I don't think Matt Barnes is on easy on Fox Sports. Just kidding. Um, we would know about that. He would have been right beyond the damn thing him and Joy Taylor's ass and still ski up. I I you you you're getting too riled up about this. We've got we've got to go back. We've got to stop. He's a podcast host of wow. Oh, wow. A man who has a podcast.

[01:14:41] I'm shocked. Steven Jackson. I'm sorry. Oh, okay. Well, good to know anyway. But yeah, just listen sports. We having the craziest drama and he can't tell me otherwise. We love sports. Well, you love sports and I love when you explain sports. Yeah. Um, cause it's just not my life, but that's okay. Okay. So last week for anonymous, you and Gia started our new.

[01:15:12] Advice. Yeah, you know, call them. No, it is super fun. And we've had this person waiting for advice and like suggesting that we add advice for like so long. And we should have just started this sooner. But it is we've had some kind of shorter episodes lately. So we needed to use longer anonymous. So this though nice long episode for everybody so we can go for a short one. So this is the messenger who suggested that we add an advice column in the first place.

[01:15:42] And their submission is should the partner who calls off the wedding morally, not legally be responsible for the non refundable costs, especially if it's the groom because he didn't have to propose. He chose to do that and lead his fiance into spending all this money when he wasn't that serious. Yes. Mm hmm. Now, first of all, Sasha's married. I've never been married, but neither of us have had a broken engagement. So. Hell no.

[01:16:09] Maybe that's a layer that's missing from our discussion of this. Just upfront. And maybe not just have this. My mom was like age like four times before she got married to my dad. And I think she was breaking up with them every time. Honestly, dad's different. I made this kind of love never find. Period. And so, okay. Here's what I know about when an engagement is broken. Mm hmm.

[01:16:36] And this is obviously in like a heteronormative, like straight relationship context. If the woman brings up with the man, she has to return the ring. Yeah, man breaks up the woman. She gets to keep the ring and do what what she wants with it. So to me, that implies. That the person who broke off the wedding should be paying the non refundable money. Yeah, to me, it's so basic. First of all, what kind of losers?

[01:17:06] Right. Are not going to just offer to pay for the wedding? And especially if it's the girl. Like again, why did you propose if you didn't want to get married like this? You need to talk to your partner in depth about what you want, what you want from your futures and be ready to build the partnership of a marriage together. Like you should have had this all sorted out well before a ring was ever purchased. Correct.

[01:17:34] Because what are we doing here? This is so ludicrous. And again, like I understand that old people need like might need to like call off the wedding, blah, blah, blah. At least you're not divorcing, blah, blah, blah, blah. But no, I just I hate it. It's just why are we how are we letting you get this? It's I even would understand getting engaged and not getting married.

[01:18:01] What I don't understand is getting to the point of making non refundable deposits for things. When you're not sure. And you know what? Open up them pockets, baby boy. Yeah, because there's no way it pisses me off. And I know I'm just like blaming the groom. Oh, yeah, I think it's because in this situation, it kind of seems like it's like, well, especially if it's the groom, like the groom. The groom's have to pay. But I think like.

[01:18:29] If it's the like bride and they call it off and all these non refundable things have been paid, they should have to pay for it, too. Yeah. Unless it's like a mutual thing. And then whoever has more money should pay a bigger percentage of it. Yeah. Me percentage wise based on income. Where you both like figure it out or use the ring to like pay for some of it. Well, that's the thing is like engagement rings are not worth that much money and resale value. Honestly, yes. A very big point.

[01:18:58] Like my house. I saw a post just today where someone was talking about how they would never get a lab grown diamond because it needs to be a mind diamond in order to like prove their fiance's love for them, which I was a very nonsensical argument that I don't understand. And they and they said, well, and diamonds have better resale value. But then they said like diamonds cost less now because everyone wants lab grown. So I was like, it was very word salad.

[01:19:27] But like engagement rings are only expensive because of the societal value that's placed on them and the like marketing that has made men think that they need to spend like three months salary on a ring. But you you can't return it. You don't get full value for it and you will never get a high percentage of it back. So like sure. Yeah, you can sell the ring.

[01:19:52] But it's also like it must be bad luck to get like a used engagement ring from like an engagement that fails. Right for parts. I'm so serious. But probably get the most money for it in that way. There is no way. I can't imagine. Yeah, this was a very much a problem for my like card. It was like it should just be gold like it costs more blah blah blah.

[01:20:18] And I was like no diamond and he was like, but Sasha like we like it would always have good value. And I was like, why would I need to sell it? Huh? Huh? What are you trying to say? It's well and the value of the ring is in the love that you have for each other. So it should be the ring that you want. And I got the ring I want. But but it's like still very much like well should have been cool. And listen, it is white gold. It's okay. And it's still 24 karat. But like nuts because if I mean in my house,

[01:20:48] Karla needs to stop talking about the resale value of your ring. Like what's he trying to tell you to get me a bigger ring? Obviously, because that's of course now. It better be. Yeah, but it better. The joke is that, you know, I always say what you just said, right? Like it's the ring I want to should matter blah blah blah. Mind you this poor boy like wanted a gold ring. And I said, no, I like I don't like the look of them. So I'm not getting you that. And they're like to this day.

[01:21:14] He's like, you remember the time he's day like if you love me, you knew the right ring to get me. Then this is my wedding ring. And I said, I don't know what you're talking about. Does we got a gaslight girl boss gatekeep? Thoughts sometimes so fucking funny. He's not me. He's not wrong. But no, we support women's rights and wrongs. And I literally look at him and I was like, I don't know what you're talking about. That's a good ring.

[01:21:42] OK, and I hopefully we've addressed this. Yeah. This advice question. Please. We'll be an anonymous. I was all a mess. Yes, I would love to be giving more advice. I love giving advice, especially when it's drama. I'm not involved in like I beg. Please go to messmagnets.com. Submit your mess. Submit your advice. And we will be so happy to provide the best advice that we can.

[01:22:10] Maybe the messiest advice at the same time. But that being said, we have reached the end of the episode. Yeah. Great job to both of us as per usual. Sasha, what do you have going on right now other than mess magnets? Oh, I don't have much. But, you know, check out our jet lag coverage if you haven't already. And of course, check out our sex lives of college girls coverage where we covered the whole season.

[01:22:40] Chappelle and I did. And we interviewed the writer Beth Appel, who wrote for never have I ever am sex lives of college. Yeah. And she talked about what the writers room look like and, you know, how they kind of come up with their ideas. And she's a reality TV super fan. So she talked about like wanting to actually be a writer on Survivor. And yeah, so it was like a really fun deal or no deal island, like super fan.

[01:23:09] So it was just like a really fun conversation about how these stories kind of come to be and how, you know, they're they're able to kind of figure out which story goes where and and like how the math works on it all. So check all of that out over on we know scripted TV. And yeah, I'll be I'll be on blue sky, you know, fun size. Check me out there. And what about you, Kirsten?

[01:23:36] Yes, I just guessed it on crime scene where we talked about Scamanda, which was a very interesting discussion that people should check out. And, you know, keep up with talking batch where there's going to be updates on how badly I'm losing the draft every single week all season long. Sasha, we got six women. I lost four of them in the premiere. No, for my I didn't lose any in episode two, though.

[01:24:06] So it's maybe we're right evening out a little bit. We're writing. I think one of my I think one of my woman has good chance. But OK, bless. Four out of six. Did any of them get the first rose? Or like an impression rose, whatever the effort called now. I don't remember. I'm if not, we're really screwed. Anyway, listen, we're we're struggling over here. No, because I think Haley's first pick got the first impression rose. Oh, you know what? At least it was Haley's first pick.

[01:24:36] So well, and to be fair, it was Haley's first pick would have been my first pick if I had gotten to choose first because she's Canadian. So I wanted her on my team. But it's fine. Anyway, so go check that out. And again, you can follow me everywhere except Twitter. At Kirsten said what? Because fuck you, Han Musk, truly. Yeah. So thank you so much, everyone, for listening. We'll be back next week with more mess. You can fill in your our form at mess magnets dot com as well as leave us a five star review.

[01:25:06] Again, five stars only. We do not accept anything less than five stars. You can say whatever you want accompanying the five star review. No, we do not perceive criticism that comes with less than five stars. It doesn't. We can't read it. There's something wrong with our Apple store. So just something to think about if you want us to actually read it. And with that being said, we will see you next week. Thank you so much for listening. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
