[00:00:15] Hi, I'm Kirsten. Hi, I'm Sasha. And this is Mess Magnets. We're back, baby. We're so back. We had a nice 45 minute pre-show debrief, which is how we know we're so back. Yes, just yapping about life. And here we are. It's great. I love it. We missed you and we're happy that you're here with us again.
[00:00:39] I am so appreciative to you and Pooja for giving me a little week off. I needed that desperately. And but I'm super excited to be back home with you like, like you can listen people can come in and they can sub. Yep. You can't take it away from me like this is my home. Never. Sasha.
[00:01:00] Sasha. Exactly. No, we're we're together. And that's how it'd be. But thank you to Pooja for coming and talking about inside, which is so much fun. So fun to listen to. I really like I should be watching it. It sounds amazing. I don't know why I didn't watch it. But maybe I'll give it a try.
[00:01:24] It's like very silly. I still think season one was like at least it had more quotable moments. So like you're more into it. Whereas I think season two felt a little bit more like a Netflix product that they were trying to like commercialize. Or you could just wait until inside season three because that is U.S. Maybe I'll just wait for inside season three then. Yep. That might be the best move here. Yeah.
[00:01:55] Can we talk for a brief moment about our current mutual obsession with the show The Pit? That I dragged you in. I literally dragged you into The Pit. Correct. And like, listen, it's just it's the way like I needed a medical show because I was at Grey's Anatomy. Number one. Day one. And then I thank God freed myself. Listen, Grey's Anatomy just got renewed for season 22. Oh, that's why I brought it up because that's crazy. And there ain't no Grey's in Grey's Anatomy. Well, she still pops in and out.
[00:02:28] But OK. So the one day. Yes. Brian Scali and Chappelle. Yeah. They all I got a group text and it was like, Kirsten, when are you watching The Pit? You have to watch The Pit. And I was like, literally, what is this? What are you talking about? I like, hello. And they were like, it's medical drama. You'll like it. You have to watch it. I was like, OK, well, I don't know why I'm being singled out. And they're like, because we know you'll watch it. Like you have to watch it. Like we know we know we can get you. And I was like, OK, fine. Then I, of course, binged.
[00:02:57] It was there were six episodes of the time. I binged them all in like a day. And then I was like, OK, who's next? So then I had to bring someone else into the cult. So I was like, Sasha, watch it. You have to watch it. Unfortunately, I'm here. And you did watch it. And the pit is so good. Yeah, I just I really enjoy it. And for me personally, I don't know one's names except Dr. Robbie. But I really don't know no one's name. I've got a graphic that can help you. I'll send it to you. That's what I mean.
[00:03:26] Like without like without AIDS, there's no way. Like I would just be like, oh, the druggy doctor or, you know, whatever. Like I could tell you their whole life story. No. The blonde one was like socially awkward. Oh, love her. Yes. Whose sister is like in them. Yes. That's what I'm saying. I know their whole life stories, but I don't know their names. Who needs more than that? Anyways, I just wanted to take a brief moment to say that the pit is so good.
[00:03:54] And if anyone's not watching, you should give it a try. Good morning AF because like they don't give a damn. They'll show anything. It's in an emergency room and you are seeing the emergent situations in graphic detail. So there's a lot of look away from the screen moments for me on it. For me, that's half the episode. And it's I'm like very squeamish. And Kirsten, thank God, told me that there was like going to show a birth.
[00:04:22] And as soon as I seen her, because there were two that it could have been. And I said, oh, oh, oh, no. HBO loves showing like a baby crowning, which I'm sure that like in a situation when a real baby is being birthed, that's like a beautiful moment of like a human body can do something incredible. And it's like so cool. But like it's none of my business. I have no idea.
[00:04:53] It's just like it's a bit much. Yeah. Well, and HBO loves doing it because they did that on what? House of the Dragon as well. Like the first episode. Everything. I've been watching HBO since I was a kid in India. And even then, my mom used to have to pause or whatever the show or doing the commercials and be like, do you know what's going on? This is the OK. It's natural to see sex. Sex, not a bad day. Blah, blah, blah. Like you want to love each other. Your mom is so cool. Oh, my God. What? She was like, oh, no one told me about sex.
[00:05:23] So can I say that was embarrassing for her is what she know what my sex talk was that I got as a as like a teenager. What? Which I don't even know. I might have said this on a podcast before. I might not. My mother turned to me and said. If you're not ready to have a baby, close your legs. And that was it. That's all we got. That's all Vanessa sounded like. But in that, it fits the vibe. Like, what are we doing?
[00:05:52] Oh, my God. Yeah. My yeah. My mom was like I had to read a book when I got my period. It was like an extra book that changing bodies. I think I've talked about it. Which is like an encyclopedia. And smart and good. I had to talk to my mom about what's happening. And yeah. And she like, don't give a damn. Like, she'll just be like, OK, now we're going to pause and talk about what's going on on TV. And I'm like, this is so awkward. Yeah. But I think that's healthier and better.
[00:06:21] So I shout out to her. Yes. But no one. You know what? People didn't should teach. Especially little boys. Consent. Like, teach boys consent. OK. That's right. Listen, we're not talking about adolescence right now because you haven't watched. Oh, absolutely. And I don't think I just I can't. I don't know why. That's fair. It's really, really, really well made. But it is the biggest bummer. And it just left me feeling like extremely hopeless about just society. Yeah.
[00:06:49] So maybe don't watch if you're not in a place to. That's what I'm saying. Jason Reed and I actually. They're such yappers. Covered on. We know. Well, when back when it was PSR, we covered this show called Extraordinary. No, not Extraordinary. The Power. And it was basically this where what would happen if like girls when they had puberty got like a special power.
[00:07:18] And that unfortunately showed how these girls were like they could jog at night. They could like get out of like really horrible situations in their foster, you know. Oh, man. Yeah. With like their dad, foster dads and all this kind of stuff. And then it moves to now what happens to the young boys? Because they're now feeling less than blah, blah, blah.
[00:07:46] And how they get red pilled, of course, because of it. Yeah, I can't watch that. Yeah, so I was like, I feel like I've seen another version of it and it's too much. You've done your time. You've done your time. It's fine. So like shout out to adolescents. I think it's important. It's just not. I can't. It's listen. That show basically got Elon Musk crying on TV. So like good for them. Mm hmm. Should we talk about some pop culture? Yes. Let's do it.
[00:08:15] OK, so you and I both listened to. Josh. Mm hmm. Peck and Drake Bell. I was really about to mess up their last names. I don't know why. Yes. They did a podcast reunion. So Josh Peck has a podcast called Good Guys. Which is like so Jewish. I could not. I. OK. They mentioned in the second part of the two part podcast of like it's the most Jewish
[00:08:44] podcast on the Internet. And like they'll often get comments of like I'm the only non Jew listening. And I just think. I think 32 fans is a more Jewish podcast. I will like 100 percent. Go. They're up there. They're both. We've done Akiva and I on a pod. I get at least one comment being like, oh, it would be really nice to hear you guys talk about Jewish like random Jewish. Interesting. Well, because I feel it always comes up.
[00:09:13] Like I feel like random stuff like that just always comes up whenever you talk to Akiva. Exactly. Well, on Renap this past week, they talked about possibly doing someone comes on the podcast and they have different representatives from every like major religion to help them choose a religion to join. Maybe you could be like Judaism. Because like Akiva's a host. I feel like if he's representing a faith while hosting the podcast, it's like putting his thumb on the scale.
[00:09:40] So if they need like a you could be like the other like the Jewish representative. That's so funny. I'm sure he'll ask. The thing is, he'll probably ask Rob's favorite, right? Chester. So true. So true. If you don't want if you want a non-orthodox. Yeah, I was going to say they might need to have like color orthodox and non-orthodox. Correct. Very different. Because it's not the same. Not even. Yeah.
[00:10:11] But yeah, so maybe that can happen for you. But anyway, so yes. I love talking about religion. Anyway, sorry. Maybe I will one day start a religious podcast. I think it would be actually someone like you who's so intellectually curious and like open and protective of people's faith, I think would be such a good person to host.
[00:10:34] Like you could do or you have just like a different guest every week and you talk about just like faith and that person's relationship to spirituality. And it would be so entertaining and good and informative. Like I think you're the perfect person to host something like that. I just I love it. Okay. I'm just such an hour. And the joke is if you like met me at the start of my career, I would have laughed in your face. And I literally was like, no, I like work at a Jewish org. But like, don't tell me to do anything Jewish.
[00:11:04] Like, I just want to do the social justice. Yeah, but I think there's like there's a certain point when anyone who's interested in social justice just like goes down the path of being like, oh, you care about like if you care about this, you care about all of it. A million percent. Here I am. Anyway, if you want to know how. Okay. Yeah. So anyways, problems fixes with Jewish Torah. I got you because that's the shit I teach.
[00:11:32] Anyway, so this podcast was like literally so fun. Yes, I was like very interested because did you watch Drake and Josh and the Nickelodeon like universe growing up? Okay, so I was not a Nickelodeon girl. Like I never really watched Nickelodeon. And I definitely saw because like, I guess, again, we've talked about this before, but in Canada, it wasn't like Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. They talk about that on this show.
[00:11:59] We had Family Channel, which was like mostly Disney Channel shows, but like a couple of Nickelodeon things would be in there. And then we had YTV, which was like most of the Nickelodeon stuff was on YTV. And we were more of a family channel household than a YTV household. And so their show was on YTV. And so I never really watched it. But honestly, after listening to this podcast, I was like, I should go binge that whole show. Like, it sounds like it was hilarious.
[00:12:26] They have such good chemistry. Yeah. And when they're like, oh, my God. And like, I did watch the Amanda show. So like, I've seen them before. Yeah. Oh, my God. So they talked about the Amanda show a lot on this pod, by the way. And I watched Drake and Josh growing up in India. And it was same thing where it was just like one channel just like had Cartoon Networks and whatever these random shows.
[00:12:51] So I like watched all of these American shows growing up, which is crazy to think about. But Drake and Josh was, I think, the last like quote unquote kid show that I watched. And then I think I aged out of like I watched iCarly, but like I was like too old to be watching. But it's like it's so silly because I think in my head I was like, oh, I was too old. Yeah. For like Drake and Josh. But based they were like, oh, the show's 20 years old.
[00:13:20] I was like, oh, I was absolutely not too old to watch Drake and Josh. I was too old to be watching Hannah Montana when I was in the 12th grade is what I was too old for. Correct. So like, what are we doing here? Yeah. So it was just like really nostalgic to hear them. Both of them really talk about one, how they how they like came up and how they came up together in a lot of ways, because obviously Drake was a regular on the Amanda show. And Josh comes on to then the Amanda show.
[00:13:49] Oh, and Drake was like, well, you were really funny and smart. And Josh was like, oh, I thought you were really too cool for me. Blah, blah, blah. So it was like really funny hearing them kind of talk through that. But they talked about that Amanda show sketch. Right. Where the two of them were mobsters. And they were telling the like bedtime story to me. Yeah. And I when I tell you, it brought back so many memories, like especially when the what do you hit me for for being an idiot?
[00:14:19] OK. And I used to say that. It's the way they remembered like so many lines of this sketch that they did decades ago as children when they're adults now. And they've both been through so much. But still, they can jump in. They remember every line. And it was so funny to hear, especially that story. Like Drake talking about how he kept breaking every time they did it because it was so funny.
[00:14:46] And Josh was getting so annoyed because he doesn't like it when people break. And like he's like, that was a good take. Like, what are you doing? And I think that's so funny. But yeah, I just it was really. And then they like gave Amanda her flowers as well. Just the way they talked about, oh, she has been really brilliant. And every time they talk to her and to Miranda Cosgrove as well. But like that, they're so funny, so cool.
[00:15:13] And to me, it felt like Drake was finally getting to have a childhood in a lot of ways. And before we go forward, like Kirsten and I talked about Quiet on Set, which was a Nickelodeon documentary. Like talk a lot about the dark side of TV, which is like what its tagline was.
[00:15:37] And Dan Schneider and really all of Nickelodeon and how like a lot of pedophiles were really like ruining these child actors lives and like building a toxic like work environment. And I forgot that that Josh even had a drinking problem. Yeah, he's sober now.
[00:16:02] And it's I saw I was talking to some friends recently and one of them said that they're like controversial opinion is that only Nepo babies should be allowed to be child stars. And I was like, oh, that is such an interesting take. But I understand the take. But I don't know that I agree with it, but I think no one should be allowed to be a child star. I know.
[00:16:25] I think it should be like when you watch like Hamilton and they have the same actor playing Hamilton's son from the time he's like a child to when he's an adult. And he's just like, I'm I'm six today. And you're like that man is taller than Miranda. I think they should just do that. Yeah, I just feel like again, there's nothing after watching Quiet on Set. Nothing feels like it should be OK to be a child star. So they both like went through a lot.
[00:16:55] And then the co-host of the pod, I don't listen to good guys at all. But no, his name is Ben, I think. Yeah, his name is Ben. But he was like a fan, basically, like almost like us and asking all the questions and being like when we were consuming the content and it felt like the most amazing thing ever and such a fun time. But it's wild to see how much pressure they were dealing with.
[00:17:22] And then we know because Drake has shared again on Quiet on Set, like what happened to him, like abuse and all of that with, you know, someone that they thought was their friend. And it's crazy because it was like in between the Amanda show and when Drake and Josh got their own show is when like it was all about to come to a head. And like Drake was going to go, you know, that's when Drake had gone to the police.
[00:17:52] And so he tells the story of being at like the first day on set and being like, I know that Brian is going to go to jail or like get arrested and no one else knows about it. And like his abuser is like on set and he has to just like play it cool. Yep. Insane. And I just I can't imagine like for a kid, I don't care the age for any human being, right?
[00:18:20] Let alone a kid, I should say for them to have to deal with this much. Well, it's yeah, it's it's wild. And so Josh talks about how it was like a little bit after like Brian wasn't working there anymore, but like before he'd been arrested and he had been kind of like MIA. And Josh asked Drake like, oh, do you still like talk to Brian? And Drake basically just said, Brian is not a good person.
[00:18:47] And that was like the extent of what Josh really knew of what had happened. And so then Josh got nope. Brian got arrested and Josh was like, oh, yeah, like that's good. Like he's not good and he got arrested like everything's fine. But then I guess Drake shared with Josh like one of the letters of support that his abuser had received in court.
[00:19:07] And they were taught like Josh was like, this is insane that this like any of this was allowed, that any of this was, you know, seen as being OK. And so it was like the whole podcast was like they were having kind of a therapy session together and it felt like it felt like brothers. Like real, real brothers, like, yeah, yeah. Strange brothers, like coming back together. And they they said that like Drake would come back on the podcast.
[00:19:37] And I think that that would be. It's just so special that it's like through all of this, so many things were ruined, but then they can come back and have this partnership relationship. And Drake talks a lot about like the shows that he liked growing up and how it was always like a buddy comedy. Yeah. And how when he met Josh, he's like, this is like this is it. This is my like buddy comedy. He always wanted like a second, like Elvis Costello, whatever, like so many famous.
[00:20:06] And Tim, this was the only thing I will say I felt a little bit bad. And I don't know if this was just like a it didn't read well, but it felt like Drake was so badly wanting to rebuild whatever relationship they had. And and that's why if folks don't know the original Drake and Josh fallout was during Josh's wedding and Josh didn't invite Drake.
[00:20:36] And really anyone except funny enough, Dan Schneider. Yeah. He on the podcast is like, oh, Dan Schneider was the only one from the show there because my mom was friends with his wife. Like, thanks, mom. Mm hmm. So it was just a really interesting because to me, it felt like Drake wanted to like try really hard to rework their friendship. And Josh, to me, read as like he's moved on like from his life and is just doing different things, you know, all this kind of stuff. And and felt nice checking in with a friend.
[00:21:06] But that was it. Well, but I also got the vibe that like with the wedding stuff specifically, they kind of said. They were just coming at it from a different perspective where Josh was trying to move on. Whereas like I think they described as like Drake was seeing their relationship for what it should have been. Correct. And then Josh was just trying to move on. And the reality is probably somewhere more in the middle. Mm hmm.
[00:21:35] Um, yeah, it's I think that like I did get the vibe. Like I think Drake would love to do like a Drake and Josh reboot and like get it, get the gang back together. And like, yeah, it seems like it would be very funny. Like they still have like that comedic timing and the chemistry. But yeah, I think that, you know, with Josh Peck sobriety, like he probably. Yeah, I don't know. I can't speak for him. Right.
[00:22:05] But it's like it seems like that's just so important to him. Yeah. That. If I were in his shoes. I don't know that he should go back to that place. Yeah. Yeah. Like if I was in his shoes, I would probably be worried about what could happen if I did go back. Yeah. Agreed. And again, like no one is owed anything. It was just like an interesting dynamic that I picked up on.
[00:22:32] And also what was interesting, they talked a lot about was, you know, like I forgot that Drake, Drake Bell had like a whole thing with Justin Bieber. And I missed that. I lived 15 lives. I literally didn't even know that happened. And then it's so funny because Josh is a story of having met Justin Bieber and Justin Bieber loved the show so much. It was like a big fan, like talk to his ear off for like four hours.
[00:23:02] Meanwhile, like Scooter Braun is going up to Drake like, hey man, like Justin Bieber saw your tweets. His feelings are really hurt. So funny, dude. I'm sorry. It's just hilarious. And it was just like killing me in the best way possible because then Drake shares, right? Like how he's still trying to or he, you know, gets called a lot for like doing random things. So he met the freaking prince of what was it? Bernai? Bernai.
[00:23:32] Thank you. And he met the prince of Bernai. Okay. And like, oh, ridiculous life. He played at like this 10 year old's birthday party. In Switzerland. Okay. That was crazy. And I've been to Sean and it's ridiculous. And the 10 year old gave him a $40,000 watch, which he then just lost in Vancouver. At a pool. Because he put it, he took it off and put it next to his jacket. Like put it in your pocket. He's like, yeah, I forgot.
[00:24:01] It was like a $40,000 watch. So I just like put it by my jacket. And then of course it's gone. I don't have it anymore. He was like, yeah, I don't need to have anything that expensive or that nice. I'm like. My God. Yeah. So it was to me like very funny because that's the life like Drake led. And then Josh, we like, I've seen a lot of the stuff he's in. Him and John Stamos were in a show together. Grandfather was so funny. So good. And then, and like, he's like hot now.
[00:24:31] So I was just like hot Jewish man. You know, like I'm here. And funny. Very much. Funny. But, but you could tell like, there's a lot of pain, unfortunately, in there. And it's interesting because then he did the reboot of Turner and Hooch, which I was very into. He plays like a U.S. Marshall. So. Oh my goodness. He's just like doing all of these like things.
[00:24:57] And it was like, they're very far apart in life. But it seems like they did have lunch together before the pod. And it just felt refreshing that like they both have something to like be together on. And it doesn't, you know, have to go anywhere. And I think that's adult friendships. Right. When you like, unfortunately break up and then decide that, oh, actually, this is like an okay person. I want in my life again.
[00:25:26] But, but it's like too, too late. It's, and like, I could see them being friends again, but it does feel like their lives are just very different. Exactly. Um, but they could always have the vibe I got was like the friendships where you maybe don't get the opportunity to connect that often. But when you do, it's as if no time has passed, which may be as bad for them. Maybe that just like brings up a lot of pain and it would be really hard.
[00:25:53] But I think that they like, maybe they go for lunch like once a year. And I think that that could be very beautiful. I'm glad that they worked out the hurt feelings over the wedding. Yeah, because I, that was crazy. Like, I remember that drama. And, and the last thing for me, at least, that came out of this was how different like eras of Disney Nickelodeon stars were.
[00:26:18] Because they felt like the last era that was like, oh, I need to like break out of my like child star life. Versus like the era after them, Hannah, or Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter. It was on Disney as well. Yeah, Zendaya. Yeah, Zendaya. Exactly. All these like mega stars were able to like kind of use that as a launching pad instead of necessarily like putting like distance in between them.
[00:26:47] Miley Cyrus, of course, did the whole I am not Hannah Montana. You know, and they made a joke like Miley had to get on a wrecking ball. But here's the thing. Miley Cyrus performed Party in the USA on a stripper pole well before she ever got on a wrecking ball. Correct. So it's just, it's so funny.
[00:27:14] Um, so I really like enjoy all of that together. I agree. It was, it felt very wholesome to listen to. I really liked it. I'll admit that when I found out it was happening and before I listened, I was like hoping it would be kind of more juicy. But then listening to it, I was like, no, this is actually exactly what it needed to be. And I'm really happy that I listened to it.
[00:27:39] And it felt like they are hopefully both good at setting boundaries and doing all stuff like that. So it seems like they've grown because of it. It was nice. It was just nice. And the last thing not about the podcast is like, we definitely know that Drake Bell had his own like controversies. And he was sentenced to two years of probation for child endangerment and grooming, accused of grooming.
[00:28:09] And he pled guilty to attempted like child endangerment and misdemeanor. So, you know, it's very much part of that story. It was just like, it's nice to see a part of like things that we grew up on trying to fix itself. Doesn't mean anything that Drake did was correct. Just wanted to make that note. Yeah, exactly. There's like a whole, if you want to go down that path, like there's just so much out there about it.
[00:28:36] And it's like, I hope that, you know, the people involved in that are also healing and doing okay. And I just want like everyone to be okay. Yeah. So yeah, that was a Drake and Jar Podcast reunion. Hug me, brother. Okay.
[00:29:23] Anyway. Okay, I just want to talk about like Temptation Island on social media for like two minutes. We don't have to go deep into it. You did not watch the season, right? No, no. Okay. First of all, you have to. I know. It was so good. You and Isaiah have been like, no, this is like the most ridiculous. It was so good. But anyways, since Temptation Island dropped like two weeks ago, three weeks ago, the people that were on the season have been on social media.
[00:29:53] It is like the biggest show right now. Like it's huge. It's everywhere. There's so much content. And so two of the men in particular have been like absolutely crashing out on social media. Grant and Brionne. Brionne, Sasha literally had a threesome in the villa and then said, well, you know, if I had sex with one person, it would be cheating. But because my like girlfriend doesn't give me threesomes, it's like not cheating to have had a threesome.
[00:30:22] And like also said a bunch of other horrible stuff. And guess what? She took him back and they're still together. Of course. And so he obviously comes across looking horrible on the show because his actions and words are horrible. And then he's like on social media, like limiting comments on his Instagram and like posting about how like Netflix editors are like the real villain and all of that. It's like you literally like.
[00:30:49] We could hear like things slapping like when he had the threesome, like we know he did it. So that's crazy. But then what's even crazier is Grant. This. Motherfucker. He is like delusional. Yeah. Fair. And so he came in with his longtime girlfriend. She said some not nice things about him. He fully cheated on her. They left separately. She left with like a 22 year old, I think just to spite her boyfriend.
[00:31:19] Queen. But then like after the show, they like got back together and had like, I guess, six months of like a beautiful relationship where like he was like doing better and becoming better. But she couldn't get over like the past resentment for their past issues of when he cheated on her and how he cheated her on the show, like all that. So he ultimately went their separate ways. And then when the show comes out, of course. People are like, what is wrong with this man, Grant?
[00:31:44] And then Ashley was his partner on the show who's like, I'm going to like capitalize on this and make TikToks with like the 22 year old that I left with and like make jokes of like, oh, don't judge me. I got back with my ex for 0.2 seconds, all of that. But he literally, Grant's like crashing out. He, he like called her and she was on live with someone else from the show and he's like screaming at her on live and then the vile files, which I can't believe I had to listen to an episode of Nick Viles podcast.
[00:32:13] But I'm, that's how deep into all of this I am. He did like a reunion. Of course. And for like one and a half hours of the two hour reunion, Grant was like yelling at Ashley because he's like, he's like, we had this six months and you're acting like it never happened and like it meant something and you're acting like it meant like he's literally just losing his mind. Oh my God. And then what we found out just in the last couple of days is so Leah, the people's princess
[00:32:43] from Love Island USA season six, Grant DM'd her after they filmed Temptation Island, but before it came out and was like, Hey, I was just on Temptation Island. Like, I hope I get as much love as you. And this man literally was so bad. Like he saw his girlfriend, like basically say, like, I think she said something like,
[00:33:11] I don't know why the world brought me this piece of shit, man. And then he saw that in a bonfire and then he goes back to the villa and he's just like, yeah, I just, I need to be in the hot tub. And then he goes into the hot tub with like the beautiful woman who he then cheats with. Like, it's like, do you think they saw like Montoya, por favor? And we're like, no, this filmed like a year ago. Okay. This all filmed in like May of 2024. If they had seen Montoya, por favor, they would have done all of that. That's what I'm saying.
[00:33:39] Like, it just really, yeah, they need to like act crazier. It's literally crazy. And then this guy, Tyler, left the island and left his former girlfriend, Taylor, which Tyler and Taylor is diabolical. Right. And he left for this girl, Kay, but like they didn't leave together. And then he went on the Vile Files podcast and was like, oh yeah, I couldn't be with Kay because she's an OnlyFans creator. And so I couldn't be with her. And then Kay had to go on social media and be like, okay, well, here's all the text messages
[00:34:09] of all the other times we saw each other after the show when he knew that was my job. So like, I don't know why he's making this up as like a deal breaker. So everyone's just like a psychopath. Got it. Everyone's just like literally everyone's just like a psychopath. May this love never find me. I beg. And then this Grant guy also, I think, has an OnlyFans now as well is what I heard. But like he should be going offline for a long time because he's not well.
[00:34:38] But I just like Maggie and I talked about the whole show over on the Hot Diamonds on Islands podcast, which all that's there on the RGP YouTube and on Hot Dummies pod if anyone wants to listen. But like so much stuff is happening since then. I was like, I need to just rant about it for seven minutes on mess magnets to get out of my system. No, but this is like outrageous. It's insane. And the fact that they aren't like putting all this stuff up on Netflix is sad. And they didn't do a reunion on Netflix, which is like so devastating.
[00:35:08] And then this is the last thing I'll say. So then the week after on Vile Files, which I listened to the first five minutes to get this tea because I saw it on Reddit because Nick Vile's wife is like the co-host and like is on the show. And her name is escaping me right now. And I'm so sorry. And she goes, yeah, I don't think I was Grant's favorite after I called him out because he wouldn't take a picture with me after the podcast and like wouldn't talk to me. Bitch, you got me.
[00:35:38] Oh my God. I know. It's crazy. The fact that Nick got all this instead of like Netflix embarrassing. Well, and with like, I'm like so upset that Netflix didn't do a reunion. Like it was popping off so much. And I think they could have gotten a ton of views if they had just filmed a reunion. But unfortunately, they hate us.
[00:36:04] So we're like gobbling it all up on TikTok and Reddit instead. Yup. Checks out. Do you know how annoying it is to be like a top commenter in the Temptation Island subreddit? Because I'm like in the streets. You know what? And we appreciate that. It's your hard work for this podcast. You get the rising star. I got that on the 90 Day Fiance subreddit two days ago.
[00:36:36] I don't think I posted it. I barely posted it to Reddit. 90 Day Fiance makes me so mad. I have to comment. That's so funny. Anyways. Okay. We have to move on. I love this. Okay. Have you seen why everyone is currently mad at Chapel Rhone right now? Yes. Because it's okay. This pissed me off. I think it's so ridiculous. I'm trying to figure out how I feel about it. So okay. Chapel Rhone in her interview with Call Her Daddy. Yes.
[00:37:02] Which first of all, Alex Cooper, take a journalism class or something. I'm begging you to learn how to ask a follow-up question. She asked exactly one follow-up question in the entire interview with Chapel. And you know what she said? She said, why? Like, hello? Can we please? Like, even if she just said, like, say more about that. Like, please. Like. Which she did with Rachel. That's why it's weird. I was watching, like, an actual journalist breakdown about why Alex Cooper's so bad at interviews. Oh, I'm sure.
[00:37:32] And it's like, she treats them all like it's a conversation. And so then she. But, like, she presents it as a hard-hitting interview. But then what you actually get is a conversation. And so she's, like, good at conversation. But she's not good at interviewing. Yeah. I understand that. Yeah. But so, okay. Chapel Rhone said, all my friends who have kids are in hell. I actually don't know anyone who has kids at my age who is happy. Anyone who has light in their eyes. Anyone who has slept.
[00:38:02] And I would just like to say, notice she said all my friends who have kids. Not once did she say mothers. Not once did she say motherhood is hell. She said, my friends who have kids. Which I'm assuming is a fairly small sample size. As she's in, like, her mid-20s. She's 27. Yeah. And I guess she's from the middle. I just feel like she acts a little bit young. That's been my. I, sorry. I cut you off. But I just feel like. This isn't wrong.
[00:38:32] Necessarily. I'm 33 years old. And I still hear that from people I know that have kids. Kids. So. It is what it is. They somehow seem to still love their kids. Yeah. So that's nice. But I don't. I just. My issue. With, like, Tapel Rhone. I really. Like, I think I can pinpoint it. But I'm still struggling. Is, like, she plays. Puts herself younger. But, like, she's 27. But I think. I think.
[00:39:01] And this is, like, a larger conversation. And I'm probably not the right person to speak on it. But I think that there is a discussion to be had of, like, when you are closeted through your formative years. Once you're finally out and living your true life. It's kind of, like, a second round of kind of being young. Like, living on your own terms. Of course. Like, obviously, I'm not the person to be. Yeah. Neither am I. Like, really pushing that.
[00:39:28] But, like, I do think that could be potentially part of it. But also, like, she didn't say they don't love their kids. They wish they never had kids. Like, I think it's crazy to be, like, wow. She basically said she hates moms. Like, it's just a throwaway comment. Like, it doesn't mean anything. And people are so mad. That's what pissed me off. And again, it's just, like, it's ridiculous.
[00:39:53] Because so many, like, parents have said that to me. I saw an interview of Seth Rogen from The Ellen Show, like, years ago. Where he said basically word for word the exact same thing that Chapel Rogen said. And there was no controversy at the time. It's just because she is a woman who is living a life that doesn't align with, like, this societal, like, expectations of a woman her age.
[00:40:20] And so, I saw a post on Blue Sky recently that was like, there needs to be more complex female characters. Y'all can't handle Chapel Rogen. I know. But again, like, I'm having a hard time articulating what I feel. So, like, I am 100% with Chapel Rogen. When it comes to talking about, like, parenthood. Neither of us are parents. But, like, like I said, it's just as someone that's the dink.
[00:40:50] Right? Dual income, no kids. Yeah. It sounds wild to me. How, like, these people just, like, are on very little sleep. Somehow making it work. And I know the love is there. No one's even. She never even said, like, you said. Yeah, that's why. Like, everyone's acting like she said that people don't love their kids. I'm like, she literally never said that. And she never said the word mother. Parenting is hard as fuck. And, like, shout out to every person that has had a kid.
[00:41:20] And, like, that are, you know, like, still somehow being more than just a parent. Like, that's wild. But here's what my problem with Chapel Rogen is. I think that, like, she sometimes double dips. And what I mean is because I'm taking out the parenting conversation. I think that's just stupid. And you're right. It's just patriarchy. That's why they're getting after her. My problem with Chapel Rogen is, like, do you want to be famous? Or do you not? Right.
[00:41:50] Or are we, like, what are we doing here? Because she's standing up right at the Grammys. She's speaking about, like, pay us more. Pay us a living wage. Health care. Blah, blah, blah. Right. All this stuff. But then I'll call her daddy. She goes that she doesn't have time to educate herself on politics. And argued that no one should expect her to have informed takes on political issues. She's right. No one should expect her to have informed takes.
[00:42:18] But then why did you, when this election was happening, come out and do a bunch of this stuff? And fun fact, her uncle is, like, MAGA, like, senator. Or not senator, but she's, like, in politics. She's from the Midwest, right? So, like, I'm not super shocked that she'd have... And I think, okay, I think it's totally... I actually thought that there was, like, almost a nuanced conversation on this podcast. Yes.
[00:42:47] But, of course, Alex Cooper didn't ask a follow-up question. That's what... Yeah, exactly. Chapel Rome loves her art. And she loves making art. And she wants to be an artist. Yes. But she hates the attention that comes with it. That is, like, a natural extension of being successful. And I was, like, that's the comfort. Like, dig... Say more about that. Like, dig deeper on that. Yes. Yes. Yes. Correct. And that's why I don't want to, like, pass judgment on Chapel Rome. Because I don't think she's wrong.
[00:43:16] But then it's also, like, what if you... I'm just, like, trying to figure out PR training. Yeah, she is not media trained. And she probably never will be. She admitted to being an Enneagram 8 on that podcast. Just like both of us are. And... Oh, wait. Okay. I... This is another thing about Alex Cooper. That is so unrelated. I'm sorry for making this podcast, like, seven years long over dumb shit that doesn't matter. So, on this podcast, they talk about Enneagram a little bit.
[00:43:42] And Chapel Rome's, like, oh, you're probably, like, an 8 as well. And, like, says the name of, like, the 8. And Alex Cooper's, like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm an 8. She was on. I was listening to... I, like, ran out of podcasts on Spotify. Yeah. And, like, a new episode of Call Her Daddy just started playing. Because I had listened to this one. And now my algorithm is all messed up. Yep. And it was, like, a flashback Friday of her... I actually listened to two because I was just cleaning. And I didn't, like, stop.
[00:44:09] And so I listened to her recent one with Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls. Lorelai Gilmore. And then I listened to, like, a flashback Friday of, like, the Megan Fox interview. Like, they repost old interviews every, like, Friday just to, like, I guess get more ad revenue. Which is crazy to me. Yep, that's exactly it. Also, the Good Guys podcast had a ton of ads. Like, these podcasts have so many ads. I was like, wow, RUTP is, like, a bargain. Because we do not have so many interruptions. But anyways... I know.
[00:44:39] And long as fuck, too. Like, with one of those two guests, she's talking about Enneagram. And the person's like, oh, yeah, like, I bet you're, like, an Enneagram one. And she's like, yeah, I'm an Enneagram one. Like, she just, like, literally has no identity. She just says whatever she needs to say to the person in front of her. Yeah. No, and... And I think that is, like, the crux of that conversation. Because, again, I think Chapel Rhone is correct. She is exhausted. She is a pop star. She's doing...
[00:45:08] She's learning how to be a star in that way. And you can't expect this person who also has a queer identity to, like, know everything there is to know about everything. I think that's fair. And I think she's actually correct. And I will, you know, be with her on that. My problem, I think, is, like, when... And I think this is, unfortunately, a symptom of white feminism, where you forget your privilege, right, in being able to say that.
[00:45:37] Because I will always say, like, we don't know everything about everything. We've said it on Mess Magnus, right? Like, when we talk about... When we're literally talking about this right now, it's like, we don't know. But there's a way to, like, nuance, right? And say, like, this is where I am without, right? Like, just... She doesn't know nuance. Yeah. Maybe... Okay. Yeah. And I'm glad we talked about this, because that's my problem. It's not Chappell Rohn. I think it's that she, like, forgets the nuance.
[00:46:04] And, like, these conversations are so layered. And Alex is a terrible interviewer. So she's not giving Chappell Rohn, I think, enough, like, you know, enough, like, leeway or not leading her through that conversation better. Because if you had asked her better questions about... Well, yeah. Like, it just... And that's not even to say, like, oh, we're, like, amazing interviewers. I just think that we are more curious. Yes.
[00:46:35] No, I don't think I'm good. But, yeah, it's just... So I think that's what was bothering me about her. Where I was just, like, I wish you would understand that, like, as a white person living in the world, there just are certain privileges you're gonna know. And, like, to say I'm not well-versed on everything is actually a very smart take. But then to follow it up with, like, you can't expect me to know everything about everything because, like, I'm a pop star. Like, people are dying.
[00:47:05] Like, you can't say that. Yeah. That's where I think I'm... And I think that that's fair. Yeah. But I... Yeah, I think a lot of the controversy that she gets is just silly. No, million percent. There's something there. And I think that we've gotten to the point. Yes, yes. As much as we can as two people who've never met her. Yeah, yeah, exactly. That's why I don't want to diagnose. It's just, like, I just feel like she almost gets it and then she'll not get it.
[00:47:35] That's my issue with Chaperone. Yeah. Because I saw that, like, she's been doing TikTok Lives a lot. And she, by mistake, let on this guy. He was South Asian. And I think he was trying to say, like, do you want to battle, right? Do a battle. But again, like, we will just, like, normally be like, oh, my God, I didn't mean to do this. And, like, maybe you'll freak out a little bit. But, like, she was acting like he was in her house trying to attack her.
[00:48:05] Or that's a bit much. Yeah. So, again, y'all can watch it and I make your own decisions. But that's, again, like, this is what I mean when I say, like, my, like, I don't even, I hate to use the word issue. I feel like that's too deep. But what I, like, get irked about Chaperone. Where I'm just, like, you're 27 years old. You should be able to navigate a little bit better the world. That's all I mean. And I don't think she should be, we should look to pop stars for our freaking political takes.
[00:48:34] Like, sure, we should know that they're not bad people. And that do we agree in our values? And we obviously agree with Chaperone with our values. But that doesn't equal, she needs to be, like, genius. And this is why I believe that everyone, in addition to a publicist, should have a DEI consultant. Because I think that's how these people get, like, better understandings of how to have these conversations.
[00:49:01] I, like, even if, like, not even, like, each person. But, like, what if there's, like, it's a resource at your record label. Or, like, on your PR team. Like, yes. But, unfortunately, the current climate, I think, would make that illegal in some places. But that's a conversation not for mess making. Yeah. No, we're not having that conversation. But it's just, I think Chaperone, like I said, will take us there.
[00:49:29] And then she just, like, brings us back. Okay. Yeah. Okay. That's why. I think, okay, for these last two little things, I think we should just approach them as, like, two quick bites. Correct. Because, like, I actually, they both kind of bum me out. And I don't want to dig deep into them. How do you feel about that? Same. Okay.
[00:49:53] So, first one is, obviously, we talked about the resurgence of the Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, Justin Bieber, left triangle situation. And Justin Bieber has been losing his mind on social media, basically, ever since the album came out. And, honestly, there's so much misinformation. And, like, TikToks about this, I can't even tell what's real or fake anymore.
[00:50:20] But it seems like something with Selena being engaged, releasing this album, is, like, he's not doing well. Mm-hmm. And he needs support. Yeah. Yeah. Agreed completely. It's just, to me, and I think I texted you this when we were talking about this, like, is he gonna get, like, conservatorship?
[00:50:43] Or, and it feels like the way that they are part of, like, that church, like, it gives very much, they've been trying to, like, use him to get ahead. Yeah, I saw a theory. And this is just a theory. It's no confirmation of it being fact or anything like that. But, obviously, Justin Bieber, Haley Bieber, they're in Hillsong Church, which is the same church like Kris Jenner and all the Kardashian Jenners are in.
[00:51:12] And it's, like, kind of dark if you talk about that one. Mm-hmm.
[00:51:48] I want him to be safe and okay. Yeah. Yeah. And, like, there's this video of him, sorry, picture of him going around as well where he puts himself in a coma while he's getting tattoos. And it's just, like, what are we doing here? Like, and someone else apparently, like, passed away doing that. But, um, so just, like, be careful out there.
[00:52:13] And, again, this is another, maybe, I don't know how this began the theme of our pod today. But it feels like there's a lot of, right, like, how these young stars grew up. Um, and we know, like, Justin Bieber was with Diddy. Um, and it's just, I don't know what that means. You know, maybe we all thought, like, when he crashed that Lamborghini, like, he was, you know, that was the phase. And he's, like, moved out of it. He's moved on.
[00:52:41] But in my mind, I'm just, like, what's going on? Like, I just keep thinking, like, what's going on with him? Like, this is crazy. Yeah. And, like, just again, of, like, he has so much money. But obviously no one that's, like, properly taking care of him. And that makes me sad. Like, that's why I'm, like, oh, I don't actually want to, like, dive deep into this. Because it's just, like, really sad right now. And we just don't know enough. Like, it's so speculation. Yeah. A hundred percent.
[00:53:11] The other kind of quick bite is, so Kanye West confirmed that his wife, Bianca Sensori, left him. Ciao. Please. He says she ran away because he has a new song titled Bianca with lyrics. My baby, she ran away. But first she tried to get me committed. Not going to the hospital because I'm not sick. I just did not get it. That song came out today. And, yeah, I guess she didn't like what he was tweeting, which nobody did.
[00:53:39] And who knows if it's even going to stick or not. But apparently she's currently left him. And allegedly Kim Kardashian reached out to her and she did not accept Kim K's call. Good. Everyone needs to just cut themselves out of the situation. That's how I feel about it. Good. Yeah. It's like, well, let's see what happens. I feel like there's a news headline about them breaking up every other day. Yeah.
[00:54:09] That's why when you posted it, I was like, yeah, sure. Like, I also obviously saw it. But like. Yeah. I think when I was like putting together some stories, I was like, oh, this is like a light episode. We like need something else. But then I didn't realize that I was going to rant for like 10 minutes about Temptation Island and it's we're yappers. It's who we are. That's why the people come. And yeah. So those are kind of like the two quick by little updates of things that we just would rather not talk about. Yeah. It's just it's happening.
[00:54:38] And like if something big happens and we'll talk about it. But for now, it's just like ridiculous. A hundred percent. Are you ready for an anonymous? Yes. OK. So this is actually an update to an anonymous that we had before. So we had the story. It was about how like. The family does like the you draw names for gifts, but the one sister like didn't want this like family friend, basically brother to be in the rotation.
[00:55:07] And we were like, this is insane. And so we have an update on that story. Yes. So our messenger says, hey, I wrote in last year about my wife's Christmas present drama and her quasi brother, quote, James, and wanted to give an update. OK. So after they listened to us discuss the situation on the pod, our messenger's wife decided to talk to her mom about the situation. Yeah. And our messenger's mother-in-law decided instead of doing two rotations, it will be one rotation.
[00:55:35] But rather than create a new one, she slotted James in with the oldest daughter. So now on the years that you give to James, you also give to that sister. And like on years that you receive from her, you'll also get something from James. I understand. And so that keeps it simple for everyone. And the sister-in-law who has a problem will never have to give to or receive a gift from James because they're linked together. Together. OK. Yes. OK.
[00:56:03] And here is where this is like the best part of it all. So our messenger says, I had not noticed, but I guess James actually gives the best presents and never stays in budget. He's a single guy with no kids, a great job and a genuine desire to spoil his family. For example, this year he gave a PS5 and game for each family member. Wait, what? So now his gifts will be compared directly to the sister-in-law's gifts.
[00:56:32] And let's just say she's not giving out any PS5s. We decided that karma is taking care of this. I love that. Thank goodness. That's so petty. And I'm glad that he's doing well. Like in his life. Because he deserves. He's thriving as he deserves to. And I feel this like. That's so funny to me. I feel like this ultimately could result in the sister-in-law like changing her mind
[00:56:58] when she sees that like her presence are always going to be compared to these like amazing gifts. Hell yeah. Yeah. Also like. I still believe that like that's crazy and like mom should do something about it. But I know our messenger like you're good. And your family is like trying to make the best of what you can. But damn. Yeah. I thought this one was so funny. I'm so grateful for the estate. This is like the best. This is the best like outcome that could happen.
[00:57:28] Yeah. Well like it could change a sister-in-law's mind. Like she might be like this is horrible and everyone can see that I give terrible gifts. Like just add me into the rotation as a separate person. Can I? Maybe what I'm saying is controversial. But I feel like people that are like. I don't know if nitpicky is even the right word. But something like that. People that are like. I just like know the word in Hindi. But anyway. The people that are just like cheap. Nitpicky. Annoying. About gifts.
[00:57:57] Are the worst gift givers. No. I think you're so right. Like it's just like there. I don't know if it's correlation does not equal. Cause. Or causation does not equal correlation. Whatever. Blah blah blah. But like to me it's a really high. Correlation. And I'm speaking from personal experience. I well I feel like. Generally speaking. People will give the type of gifts. That they would like to receive. Is like I think the general.
[00:58:25] For the majority of the population. But then there's like. A small subsect of the population. That like. Wants to be given the world. Correct. But. They'll be like. Oh I'll give like. The most random like candle and body wash. And that's what I'll give as a gift. Even though it's like not. That's a great gift for the right person. But it's not a great gift for everyone. Kind of vibes. Correct. They don't individualize the gifts that they give.
[00:58:55] But they want like a highly individualized gift. I think that's the worst person to deal with. When you have to exchange gifts. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I am for sure the like. Doesn't stay in budget gifter. Like I try. If I find something that I think would be best for you. And you're gonna love it. It's just. That's it. I like giving gifts. I love giving gifts. But I am definitely in a situation. Where we have to give gifts to so many people. Yeah. That's like really hard. Because like. To me. When I can think of that perfect thing to get you.
[00:59:25] I'm stoked. Like I'm so excited. Like this is great. But if I can't think of like the perfect thing. Then I feel bad. Correct. About the gift that I'm able to put together. Yeah. But generally speaking. I like love giving people books as gifts. Yeah. And I'll try to find like a book. Whether it's like a non-fiction. Or like a how-to. Or just something that really aligns with that person. Mm-hmm. Is something that I love to do. But. Not everyone appreciates that. And so then I'm kind of like the bad gift giver. But I'm just like.
[00:59:55] Read a book. Do the books. Yeah. It was part of our. My bridesmaids box. Like she gave us all a book. So that we could all. Um. Like we could all like read it together. It was really cute. That is so adorable. That's right. The book. I think it's the one you read. So. Um. The Indian one. Um. Oh. The um. The problem with hating you. Yes. Or whatever. Yeah. It was like a very heavy book to be reading as part of. No. I think it was by the same author. Sorry.
[01:00:25] Because I'm looking at my bookshelf. Okay. It wasn't that one. But it's her. Yeah. It's the author. Okay. By that author. But I don't think I've read the one you're talking about. Yeah. Which. Which. Good thing it wasn't the one I'm talking about. Because that book was some heavy subject matter. Oh my gosh. But yeah. So no. I love it. But yeah. If you're a gift giver. Give us. Um.
