[00:01:13] And this is Mess Magnets. We're back, baby! That's right. It's been 7,000 years, but we made it. Somehow, someway, we pulled ourselves over the line. Us taking a two-week break. Oh, it's been forever. I know. Sorry, everyone. Hopefully you heard us on Vernap last week.
[00:01:37] For those that don't know, it's Robin Akiva Need a Podcast. And the Mess Magnets were guests. And honestly, a time was had. It was, I think, a very funny podcast. We were on a... We were doing... They called it draft day.
[00:01:53] And we were just drafting different random things. We did our celebrity dinner party. We did times of the day. We went through the list of places you're not supposed to take a woman on a first date. It was super fun.
[00:02:09] Not getting a lot of feedback on it, which honestly, I think means that it was good. Because I normally only get hate. Yeah, same. I don't think it got posted in the Facebook group, which is why. Wow. I didn't see it at least.
[00:02:24] Were we silent or were we silenced? Honestly, it's okay. It's okay. Because the thing is, I forgot to draft Lil Scrappy in my dinner party guest list. So I'm just very sad. But it's okay. And you also forgot to draft Cardi B.
[00:02:40] I didn't forget. She was stolen everyone. Okay, sure. Also, I went to LA and I just wanted to give all of our messengers a shout out. Because like, why are they everywhere? And they were so nice. Your girl felt like a celebrity.
[00:03:00] Okay, I was like, finally, I'm like Kirsten. Just don't talk to me. No, it's true. Everyone wanted to talk to you the first event you went to. Oh, that is a lie. Oh my God. But it's okay. But anyway, also this is we're on YouTube. Hello.
[00:03:18] Look at us. I don't know if the whole thing will actually be on YouTube. But I agree that it should be. We're here. We're on YouTube. We're live and on video. We did our hair. We are not in slug mode as we usually are.
[00:03:34] I mean, I am wearing the UMass jersey. But like, you know, we got to rep the brand. I'm wearing a crewneck sweater as well. It just has foxes on it. It looks cuter. Also, I have a surprise for you.
[00:03:47] Can you believe I waited this long to tell you? A surprise for me? Yes. So I and I told this person not to share anything with you. So I better not have. So I met a messenger that came up to me. And her name is Carly.
[00:04:05] And I told Carly specifically, you cannot share this with person. Carly's from Tulsa. Believe it or not. And we met in LA. Love, love. Yeah. Love how small this world is. And they end up.
[00:04:20] And I told Carly to make sure to send me a message because I will forget. So thank you, Carly. We do have mess from Carly as well. There's some like Tulsa mess. So we will deal. Talk about that next week. She like shared it. It's Sophia Bush.
[00:04:36] Oh, of course. Yes. So anyway, Carly made us matching bracelets. Stop. Well, wait, it gets better. So granted, I think Carly did give me options. And knowing me, I did pick the not nice ones for us. So just FYI that there were, I think, nicer options.
[00:05:04] All right, Carly. But you know me. So she said, do you want a nice or not? So I was like, no, no, no. Like whatever you think. But you know, whatever you think describes me. Carly, but you know, then I was like, but you know me wink.
[00:05:17] So obviously did not like cutesy one. Yeah, this says and this is mine. Wait, shit. Where's the star? Okay. It's so funny. Okay. This makes me a cold bitch. Does this make me a cold bitch? And then yours. But I don't give a fuck. I love it.
[00:05:47] I love it. Okay, God. So I know I'm going to do it live on the podcast. You cannot say anything. So I've been reading this long. I did not get a heads up from anyone. They kept your secret. I'm so excited. Oh my God. Yeah. Oh no.
[00:06:08] Mine says this might make me a cold hearted bitch. I don't know if that's what I said. But is that a quote of me? Like, that's what I'm saying. I was like, I know one of us have like we have said this. I'm sure we've said this before.
[00:06:21] So next time we see each other, we now have matching bracelets. And I can't wait. I'm going to die. Yes. Shout out to Carly. So that's why this needs to go up on YouTube. Yes, of course. Well, now we'll just make the most. It's fine.
[00:06:39] We'll post the whole thing. Yeah, we just tell them. Yeah, here they are. I can't wait. That is so freaking cute. And the colors are cute. Your colors are very like pastel and just like exactly what you want. I love it. Literally, I'm going to be dead.
[00:06:56] This is so good. Yes. So it's a shout out. And I will now post them. Please do. I can't. I want to get a closer look. I want to lean into my screen right now.
[00:07:08] We also, I believe, have a new five star review since the last time we recorded. Yes. A bunch of people came up to me and told me about they were like, here's my husband. And here's who I made do the review. Yes.
[00:07:22] So I had to be like, oh, my God, I'm so sorry. But also, thank you. And I'm not someone. And I'm so sorry. Don't remember your name. But I'm horrible with names, but I'll remember your whole story.
[00:07:33] But we met like right outside by the photo booth or right at the entrance of the theater. Anyway, so her and her husband chatted and she was like, yeah, I did it from my daughter's phone. Good as she should. Yes.
[00:07:48] So the point is just like the squad was there. The reviews were there. We really do encourage review fraud. It's the only type of fraud that we support. Yeah. Or stealing from rich people, whichever. But not like, no, leave me alone. Oh, my God.
[00:08:06] But yes, so I think the new review that we got, I'm pretty sure that this one is new since we last recorded was from Call Me Pod Mom. And it says a weekly must listen five stars.
[00:08:21] Sasha and Kirsten bring humor, knowledge and enthusiasm to the messiest stories each week. I love hanging out with them every episode. We love hanging out with you too. We love you. I'm not going to call you mom, though. No. PM for sure.
[00:08:37] Yeah, I'll call you PM for sure. Oh, my God. And I don't know if we read Hannah Mays or not on. What did it say? When did we last? Oh, my God. Not my own voice. Please. I think we may be right. Hannah Mays. Yes.
[00:08:55] It's just that we're the best. OK, I just want to make sure we didn't miss one of the rare. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK, well, we did it. Hannah May, we love you. If we missed it, this hopefully counts as yes. It does.
[00:09:13] So should we get into the core of this? Yes, we have a lot to talk about. Also, I will say a bunch of people message me and have messages. They feel like stories. So we will be we have made notes, especially the Hasan Minhaj mess.
[00:09:30] Like I am in it. So we will be talking about that. We'll be talking about Kiki Palmer and maybe Twin Flames because Randy did ask us. But let's see, because like Randy, I kind of got over it by episode two. But I don't know.
[00:09:45] Either way, we'll probably still mention it is like it is so crack. It's a wild. Yeah. So we will be talking about all of this next week. So don't think like we're forgotten all the mess or all the stories.
[00:09:59] It's just that we have been behind Carson's been on a world tour. Oh, OK. You've been on three trips in the time I took one. You know, because my quick, quick, quick. And so we are going to be talking about today. Britney Spears is the woman in me.
[00:10:18] Yes, we both have read the memoir. I read it. It took me longer than I thought it would take. Honestly, that's my first takeaway. If it feels like Britney wrote it, you know? Yeah, but no. And you would text me, texted me that.
[00:10:37] And granted, me known procrastinator did finish it in two days. But that's because I had to for this podcast anyway. So I agree that like it was clunky at times or I was like,
[00:10:51] I think I'm just going to skip, not skip, but like I'm going to read faster than normal. Some parts. But knowing the story and getting to like the conservatorship mess, I think it makes sense why she wrote it herself. One hundred percent. And I'm glad that she did.
[00:11:07] And I don't mean that in like an insulting way. Yeah. But. It yeah, like she is she's just got so much to say and it's kind of hard to lay it out, but I think she laid it out really well.
[00:11:24] It made me really sad to read just so much tragedy in the book and it made me feel really bad for just honestly, women in the industry and how they've been treated for so long and like things are a little better now, but not that much better.
[00:11:41] And yeah, that's just kind of my my overall thought. Do you do you have any takeaways from the book as a whole? Yeah, I think for me, it's just my personality type. Right. Like where is the restitution for what was taken from her?
[00:12:02] And I don't even unfortunately we can't give her back 13 years. Actually, even more because like it's really from jump that this was, you know, she was in some kind of a turmoil or frustrating situation. So for me, it's like one.
[00:12:17] Yeah. How is she to get the money back? Will you know these like therapists we like taking will their license be taken away? Will the lawyers be debarred? You know, like what is going on? I don't know.
[00:12:32] And I tried to look this stuff up and there's there is a case going on against Lou and all and TriStar. But again, they're so rich. They made money off of Britney and turns out Britney was paying for their lawyers to sue Free Britney movement.
[00:12:50] That I imagine that really took me out when it's like the amount of salary that like Britney's dad was drawing compared to what they were giving her and compared to how much was coming in all due to her work, not due to their work.
[00:13:08] They are really doing shit to make anything. They're holding her back and not making more money. If we want to like be capitalistic, honestly. Good Lord. Yeah, I think so. For me, it's more like it just doesn't feel like an ending because these people are still out here.
[00:13:27] They still get to reap the benefits because I looked up again, like I said, TriStar. And now, I mean, the amount of people that they rep is outrageous. And they have all these people that, you know, they're built on Britney's backs. Like, yeah, the security company, everything.
[00:13:47] So, yeah, that that's where I think I am with this whole book. It's just like frustration. And like, before I move forward, you know, fuck Jamie Spears, the dad. I mean, and the mom. And the mom, and Jamie Lynn, and the lawyers, and Justin Timberlake, and everyone involved.
[00:14:11] And Kevin Federline. Like, K-Fed loser. Yeah. We've been SNL. Yeah. Oh, and yeah, I honestly didn't even want to speak on that because SNL just... Not wrong. Not wrong. Missing the point, I would say. Yes. But yeah, I guess should we just jump into the book itself?
[00:14:34] Mm-hmm. Let's do it. It's quite ridiculous. So, it really is, to me at least, broken down into like her early years, rise to fame. Then it kind of goes through like relationships and her wedding, of course. A few weddings, double, two weddings.
[00:14:51] And of course, then the conservatorship, which is like the most painful, the worst part, I feel like, of all of it. Because I don't know about you, Kirsten, but like I felt trapped reading it. Mm-hmm. And I just... Ugh, the desperation.
[00:15:07] So, that's what I feel like it's almost like the easiest way for us to navigate it. And we're not going to go through like every single thing. We're not going to be doing this line by line. It's just, you know, we're mess magnets.
[00:15:18] We're going to pick out the messiest parts of all of it. Yes. So, from that first part, like the childhood, early rise to fame, you know, I think that the thing that took me back the most, like I am not a Brittany historian.
[00:15:33] I don't... Like maybe a lot of this stuff wasn't news to people. Yeah. But reading that her grandmother had been institutionalized and ultimately completed suicide, like literally blew my mind. I was like, oh, so it's just like a family pattern to put away women. Mm-hmm.
[00:15:56] 1000%. It's just... It really starts with learning about her dad. Right? And that's when I was like, oh my God. And this guy's in charge of her. So, we learn about her growing up in Louisiana and how that was, you know, very Southern, you know, almost cookie cutter life.
[00:16:18] They were not well to do. Sometimes they were, sometimes they weren't. And it was so up and down because guess what? Daddy was an alcoholic. And a raging one, it sounds like. Not towards anger, but very much like he would...
[00:16:34] Any business that he'd start, he'd succumb to alcoholism and that would, you know, fail. And then they would be like almost start back at zero. And Britney Spears' mom ended up like having family that kind of came from money.
[00:16:49] And Britney, but once, you know, she gets married to this like basketball... Yeah. Has been or would have been... Like local, like could have been hometown hero kind of guy. Yeah. So they ended up maybe cutting her off was too harsh, but that's kind of what Britney insinuates.
[00:17:09] But it seems like they were like, you've now, you know, married none of our family. But a biggest piece was how fondly Britney talks about all the women of the family, except her direct family. Right? Like it's her extended family that she's like in love with.
[00:17:24] And I really loved hearing about her grandma, Lily, which is her mom's mom. And it's just it's so sweet because she's British and ends up like moving to Louisiana. Please. A weird, a weird path at that time. Yeah. She like met an American soldier and moved, I guess.
[00:17:48] And of course, like the pain that comes with like living in the south in the middle of nowhere and giving up like a life in Britain. But her and Britney had a really beautiful relationship. And again, I think it was almost like for us, right?
[00:18:05] As people that know what happens to Britney, I felt like it's so obvious that her family is controlling. Because dad was a raging alcoholic. Mom had anger issues and obviously should have left dad, but didn't. So ends up like taking their anger out on the kids.
[00:18:22] And her, you know, time away was with grandma. And once, you know, grandma ends up driving a car into a ditch and it was taken away. Like she was never able to hang out or go to sleepovers with grandma ever again.
[00:18:39] And that to me, just to think about all the other things we read about that happened in her childhood. Her mom letting her drink and smoke cigarettes when she was very young. All of the irresponsible behavior that happened around Britney as she was growing up.
[00:18:55] And then to hear that, like, couldn't it just be grandma can't drive you around anymore? Right? Like you could still see her at her house probably, but they just like totally removed her. And, you know, maybe there's something else to that story that we'll never know.
[00:19:11] But this is all that we know. And obviously if there was something else there, it was never explained to Britney as it definitely should have been. Weird. And in a big piece, I think is also that her dad's dad was pretty abusive as well,
[00:19:30] in that he would push her dad to be like painfully good at sports, especially basketball. And then that seemed to now be pushed down to her brother, Brian, and then to Britney later on in life. So it seems like this like perfectionism was always part of the issue.
[00:19:55] And the family has never from what Britney sounds like and tells us is that it never felt like a family, except outside of the house when there were other women in her life that could really hold her down.
[00:20:09] Yeah. And it really just feeds into like these things happen in a cycle, right? So the abuse, you know, happens at one level of the family. And then when that person has children, they pass that trauma along and that hurt along.
[00:20:28] And it feels very much that that happened here as well. I'm really we don't hear much about Britney's brother, just like in general. It seems like he just he didn't have the marketable skill that the other girls had.
[00:20:46] And so he I don't know if he was exempt from. The bad actions happening, but he definitely didn't get the same as. Yes. Yes. And it seems like he, again, was still making money off of Britney.
[00:21:04] And and she also talks about how she had to go on tours and he gets to, you know, kind of be at home and live his life. But again, it doesn't it didn't sound like it was adversarial. Just that was a fact. Yeah, really.
[00:21:19] It seems like he's just there like they never really knew each other that much. Yeah. But seems like she really cared about him, especially when he had like a really bad accident. But then again, no one was helping her.
[00:21:31] So I don't know how great he really is, if that makes sense. So then, yeah, that's like her family. Again, there's a lot, but like it's traumatizing. I don't care to like keep talking about it. Yeah, we honestly read the book. Mm hmm. But yeah.
[00:21:48] Sorry. Go ahead. No, no, no. That's yeah. And oh, the one thing that also comes up a lot is like her teenage life. She ends up dating her brother's best friend. And again, it's it was like weird. That was weird. Fourteen. She loses her virginity to him. Right.
[00:22:09] Yeah. And her and then she she kind of acts like, oh, like my brother shouldn't have been upset by this. Yeah. It's like, no, that dude was weird. He was weird for that. Mm hmm. It's just it doesn't make sense.
[00:22:25] And and she loved basketball like that was a big part of her life growing up. So she does go on right. Like her fame is she tried out for the Mickey Mouse Club with Christina Aguilera. And they didn't end up getting picked because they were just too young.
[00:22:41] They wanted I think kids that were like 13 or in their teens. Brittany was, I think, like eight or nine. Yeah. And she was still lying up above. Yeah. So anyway, so she ends up going on Broadway, going to New York.
[00:22:54] And, you know, mom did take her to all these things. And it seemed like. Compared to other child stars at Brittany did get afforded the luxury of like taking a step back as she needed.
[00:23:08] Well, it was even it almost seemed like she took a step back, but she didn't want to take a step back. And she portrayed it in the book. It was almost like they were like, OK, no more.
[00:23:19] And then she was like, I need to perform with the vibe I got, at least. No, that may. Yeah, I can see that, too. And of course, singing has been a big, big part of her life.
[00:23:30] Like she basically just talks about singing throughout the book as like her spiritual, you know, that is her spiritual time. That is how she connects to like, you know, a higher being for her. That's how she feels alive was like movement and singing.
[00:23:48] And later on, it gets taken away. But anyway, so that's kind of how and then she was on Star Search as well. So it's just all the things I feel like every kid at that, you know, in those like, you know,
[00:24:00] in the 80s, 90s, like if you wanted to be a performer or a star, she had all of those experiences. I literally I feel like such an I really didn't know that she had been on Broadway. Yeah, I didn't know. I guess she was an understudy.
[00:24:16] She was understudy with one Natalie Portman. What is happening? Well, yeah, it was Natalie Portman. And then I think they were understudying for. Oh, what's her name? Laura Bell Bundy. Oh my God. Is the she was the original Elle Woods on Legally Blonde on Broadway.
[00:24:36] Wow. A ton of stuff like it's but that's just obviously the first thing that I think of. So it was a lot of like names getting dropped throughout this. Yeah. The book. We were like, oh, damn, that's what they were up to at that time.
[00:24:49] Pushes off. She's all genuine. No, no. So then, of course, she does try out again. So does Christina Aguilera for the Mickey Mouse Club, you know, different M.M., I will say, not mess magnets.
[00:25:07] And she said she almost describes those times as like the best times of her life. And she looks back to that almost as like an anchor in her life, right? In her in a performing life, at least I feel like.
[00:25:23] And it's so weird because to me it sounds so horrible. Like I'm being 10 years old and you have to practice dance choreography for like 12 hours a day. I would rather do anything else. But then you get to ride rides.
[00:25:40] Yeah, you do get to ride the ride. That part would be cool. I'd want to ride the rides. But basically she describes it as just she's always been hardworking. She likes driving towards a goal.
[00:25:50] She compares everything to running down the court with the basketball because she was so fast. And she loved that. She loved the structure of just dancing and practicing all day, which to me seems crazy. Yeah, hell. It seems like hell. Good for her.
[00:26:09] And it seems like, yeah, with the Mickey Mouse Club, I think they also got like a lot of acting lessons. Right. Like so it just seems to be the way forward, the launching point. And then she does end up getting, I don't know if it's luck.
[00:26:21] I mean, talent and luck, right? Because they went to New York. She pretty quickly gets a manager, right? An agent like they everyone seems to really be taken by her. And she was a point guard in basketball.
[00:26:34] So which is the person that kind of directs the whole play on offense. So it's really interesting that it's a really powerful position. And she's always been that way is what, you know, I feel like we need to glean from that.
[00:26:49] And of course, on the Mickey Mouse Club, she meets one Justin Timberlake. I like Mickey Mouse. I hate Justin Timberlake so much. I'm like, I haven't it's not like I've been a fan or like a huge stan or anything of Justin Timberlake. We're not Laveena.
[00:27:18] I don't think Laveena even would say she stands Justin Timberlake. No, she does not. Sorry, I just have to defend my girl. But like, it's just so much worse than I thought it was. Yes, that's exactly it. I think we know about Justin Timberlake, right?
[00:27:38] Like we've been known like even with the stuff in New Orleans, it's just like he's scum. And folks that don't know what I'm talking about. Look up. Yeah, JT. He did not actually cheat, but it's just like he be doing scummy shit.
[00:27:52] He's just you know, you said it best when you said faux shizzle. Oh my God, I wanna die. I wanna die. So, yes, that's where they meet. And it seems like Justin's family is like finally this like anchor, this really positive force in Brittany's life.
[00:28:11] So she she seems to be really she is taken by him. I feel like to this day because y'all now that he's in her life, he does not leave her life like he is fully in every piece of the book.
[00:28:23] Like it's when Kevin and Justin heartbreak, when Justin and Kevin went to her, it was always together at all times. Yeah, they just she it was that's her first love. And that's not something that is easily overcome. And she really does like it go.
[00:28:46] It always goes back to Justin. And he was part of the some of the biggest traumas of her life. Like she talks a lot about how he cheated on her so much. And he's a loser. Like in again, listen, he's a young guy, young people.
[00:29:07] I'm a big proponent of young people should not be in relationships. And I can't imagine being this young and this famous and this attractive. Right. Oh, so of course, he's cheating and she knows. And he's like bragging about it. And apparently it's like with famous people.
[00:29:28] We don't know who. But he's very specifically was like, I don't want to name names. Yeah. To embarrass that lady. But apparently he was like talks about how it's he hit it last night or hit that last night. Yuck to her friend.
[00:29:45] Why are you talking about women this way? Like, it's just so. I don't. Yeah, I don't like it. Exactly. So it's just it's so bad and so painful.
[00:30:01] And also, I really I really laughed when she said, oh, and sync was, you know, branding themselves as like a black group. Oh, my God. Because they said Backstreet Boys is very clear that they are a white boy band, not in sync.
[00:30:21] And then there's a lot of really funny moments of just like embarrassing Justin Timberlake. He needs the lashings. But they literally he at one point goes, well, she's official. Who is he talking about? Genuine.
[00:30:40] It doesn't feel right that he would even get to meet genuine if he's going to be in this way. Yes. What are you doing? I could not stop laughing. Is that bad for me to say?
[00:30:55] I mean, the thought of that happening, like it's deeply troubling, but also extremely funny. Yes, that's exactly how I feel. So all of that to say it's just he is on one. He and they end up being together for a little bit.
[00:31:15] She talks about the iconic denim outfit. It was supposed to be a joke, but turns out everyone ended up going along with it. So she did, too. And she even appreciates now when folks dress up in that Halloween outfit.
[00:31:30] So I was like, OK, I'll do it next year if you want me to. Honestly, I was like, should I be denim Britney? Yeah, that's what I was like. I think that's what she's telling me to be.
[00:31:40] And then, of course, there is one piece which we did go, you know, like we knew about this before the book came out. But I'm all right as the book was coming out is that they did get pregnant and she was like wanting to.
[00:31:53] Keep the kid, it sounded like or. Yeah, I get the sense that she. Would not have considered an abortion for herself, regardless of if she wanted a baby or not, like it just didn't seem like what she wanted.
[00:32:10] And then the whole path of how she had the abortion, she wanted to go to the hospital and have like a medical abortion. But it was basically impressed upon her like you can't go to the hospital, then everyone will know you just need to take like do that.
[00:32:30] It's still a medical abort. But like I guess a surgical versus like a medicinal. Yeah, exactly. So she took the medication that induces like the miscarriage at home and.
[00:32:44] She was in agony, just like lying on the bathroom floor, as I think many, many, many people have lied on the bathroom floor in agony for a variety of reasons. And what does Justin Timberlake think the right thing to do is to ease her pain?
[00:33:00] He picks up a guitar to try and play music for her. How do you not pick up this cheating man and his damn guitar and just break it in half? You know what I mean? Hit him with the guitar, honestly, like.
[00:33:15] Just I contemplate that I like I can't. OK, then they do end up like being together for a little bit. She thought that, you know, like I said, they'd be married, blah, blah, blah. He they brought a condo together.
[00:33:30] All of this to say he breaks up with her over a text message. And that's like when texts were new. Yeah, like you would die. He had to do that shit in T9 word.
[00:33:44] Yeah, I need to literally pay a probably what, 50 cents or how much ever to like break up with her. Yikes. And like when not someone that you're like, that's that's wild. So when you live with and you're going to you're going to do it over text.
[00:34:01] You do it over text. Yep. It's just so it's just so painful to do this. He's just such a shithead. Yeah. And it's just like more I don't know everything about it is just disgusting. She does spiral after and I mean this kindly.
[00:34:28] But how do I say that? I don't know that she's ever come out of it even now. Like, did she get the right therapy for it? I think. OK, so first of all, who among us is not spiraled over a man who did not deserve this?
[00:34:43] First of all, I got a list. But I think I think that meeting Justin so young and tying all of her hopes and dreams and expectations to the relationship with him.
[00:34:56] And then the fact that she put up with so much bad behavior and was willing to, you know, keep seeing him anyways. She thought that it didn't matter what happened outside the relationship, that they would just be together.
[00:35:16] And so when that expectation or belief was just totally shattered in such a cold and callous way, she's then not only mourning the relationship, but also the future that she thought she was going to have is gone too. And that's like extremely difficult to overcome.
[00:35:38] And it's one of those things where like maybe she's over it, but she's still going to have that thought. Yeah. Yeah. OK. You know what I mean? Like, I don't.
[00:35:52] I mean, she didn't have the right people in place, which is, again, a through line to really help her get through it and like get the right PR.
[00:36:05] And that's the thing, too, like she it seems like from her perspective, she was approaching the breakup with, OK, well, this is our breakup. We're done now. Like, it's really hard and we'll move on with our lives, whatever.
[00:36:17] And Justin had the PR team in place to then expose like that it had been really important for her team that they pretended that she was a virgin, even though obviously she wasn't with Justin. She's not a virgin. He exposes that on TV.
[00:36:34] He writes Cry Me a River and makes the actress who's like screwing him over look a lot like Britney in the music video.
[00:36:42] Like basically he had done more before like 6 a.m. than she would do all day with regards to PR on the in the relationship because she was busy actually mourning the relationship, which maybe it was never as serious to him as it was to her.
[00:36:59] So he was able to be more cold and play those games. Yeah. Agreed. One thousand percent. So much because, oh, my God. And the fact that he like wrote Cry Me a River, right? Like it's just it's disgusting.
[00:37:14] And then the video has a blonde woman that looks a lot like Britney cheating on him. And how does her PR team not have a response for this? Like I when I say I want all the names of these people because I think they should not be working.
[00:37:31] Not in this industry. The thing, too, is like I feel that PR has developed a lot since the early 2000s. And I maybe there's a hierarchy has in the patriarchy has not.
[00:37:48] But I just really think at that time, I don't know how much they would have been able to say on her behalf and people would have believed like it was very much not believe women time. Yeah. And Justin Timberlake, I think, was the very the.
[00:38:03] Yeah, I don't know the word, but yeah, you know what I mean? Um, everyone had a crush on JT. Yep. So it is what it is. Here we are. And again, she again, she had no.
[00:38:19] She just didn't have enough people around her, and it's so sad for me. Paris Hilton does come around now and does kind of like snapper out of, you know, this funk.
[00:38:32] And it's nice to see that, you know, like Britney Spears was just a normal 20 something that wanted to drink and was famous and had money and spent it right.
[00:38:46] So her family then steps in, I feel like, and it's like you are drinking and you're not blah, blah, blah. All while the VMA she's kicking ass at she's getting awards. All the songs are killing it. And then she has this really beautiful relationship with Madonna as well.
[00:39:06] And of course, she talks about the iconic VMAs kiss. And she shares a lot about how she wanted to be like Madonna. And eventually she says Reese Witherspoon to where these are like strong women that don't take shit from anyone. And how do I do that?
[00:39:27] And like she also talks a lot about how when she was younger, she had kind of that energy and that fire and she would like stand up for herself, maybe not in the best way. But she did.
[00:39:42] She does talk about how she always had so much energy and so much fire and just like a like love of life kind of thing.
[00:39:53] And she really cares about her music and she's really good at it because just the way she talks about how at this point in her time, she would like go over and over and over again to get the perfect song and get everything perfect. Get the sound perfect.
[00:40:11] She said she had an idea and she'd almost like do anything to execute it. And I will say that this is a time where I was like, wow, it's never heard of that. An artist really loves their team this much.
[00:40:24] And the team is so honest about what the you know what to do. Right. Like the baby one more time music video conversation was really fascinating because it seems like they wanted to do it like an astronaut type theme. And she said, no, like that's not my audience.
[00:40:44] They're not going to get it. And that's when she asked for that. Now, iconic, of course, school, the bell rings and you know that they be in uniforms and all of this stuff like that was very important to her.
[00:40:57] So it was just so nice to see that it seemed to be very collaborative at this point in her life. Like her team was listening to her going along with her ideas.
[00:41:08] She was able to call the shots in a way that gets taken away later, especially for such a young person. Yes, 100 percent. So the other like major relationship we hear about in this book is obviously with Kayfad.
[00:41:26] I literally my notes, y'all don't say weirdo, fame whore kids before Britney. Literally so weird. And this is where like he like had left a pregnant girlfriend like to get with Britney in the first place. Like, yeah, I'm big behavior. He like Tristan Thompson's dad.
[00:41:47] Right. Like he is very literally just like when I cheat. Yeah. When I cheat, I feel bad afterwards. So it's just that it was Kayfad. Seems like he wasn't nobody. There is a funny line, I will say. And, you know, I hope Britney laughs at that piece, too.
[00:42:06] But it's like she's like, all I wanted to do was cuddle with Kevin Federer line by the pool. And I said, who? Why? What? No. Because, you know, he says we know him now with this like Ed Hardy.
[00:42:19] You know, I feel like he ruined Ed Hardy single handedly. Oh, he had help. He had help from. Every douchebag we know. Oh, God. Yeah. Literally every douchebag we know. So, yeah. And then Kayfad just like it seems like was in love with her at one point.
[00:42:42] And then she thinks so. Yeah, she thinks so, according to her. And then she did get pregnant with Sean and then oh, my God, Jay Preston. Jay Preston. Yeah, Sean Preston and then Jay Lynn. Jayden or Jayden? Oh, Jayden. Yes. Jayden. Why am I? OK. Anyway.
[00:43:04] Yes. And with Jayden next, like they're like one year apart. Yeah. She talks about how she was pregnant for basically two years straight. And just the feeling of like her. Obviously, her hormones are going wild.
[00:43:19] Like that is not a recommended path for for people to take in general. Right. And she talks about how she'd be pregnant or just with her the first baby. And he would be in the studio and they'd all be smoking weed and it would be a party.
[00:43:38] And it's like, hmm. And whose money was paying for this studio? And she's so kind as a not even talk about it. But I'm like, girl, stand up. That's your money. Well, love will make you do such stupid things. Yeah, 100 percent.
[00:43:58] And it's just like basically it culminates in him just refusing to see her at all. She would show up with his children and he would be like, no, I don't want to see you. Security guards that Brittany had hired would then be keeping Brittany out of
[00:44:14] Kevin's home and preventing it. And ultimately, the way she describes it is that he was just waiting for her to file for divorce so that it would be more favorable for him.
[00:44:28] And her camp basically said, you should just file for divorce, like have some dignity in this situation. What happened here? I don't understand. Right. Like where this guy sucks. He doesn't want to see his kids.
[00:44:42] And all of a sudden he and he obviously wants her to file for divorce. Yeah. Why did no one learn from the Justin Timberlake situation? Let K-Fed file for divorce. Like why, you know, do this to Brittany, you know, parade her as the like sad person who,
[00:45:02] you know, has to now be a single mom, blah, blah, blah. I feel like wasted opportunity or a setup. I feel like this was all a setup. I really feel like it was.
[00:45:12] I feel like he wanted her to file because it would probably be beneficial to him in getting alimony from her. And then once she started, you know, once again, a relationship is ending that she thought was going to be it going to be the like, that's it.
[00:45:31] We're together forever. And it's not. So she's going through all that again. She's just had two babies in a very short period of time. And then they're like, you know what? Let's like take it one step further. Let's make it seem like she's an unfit mother too.
[00:45:48] Huh? I'm I was so confused reading all of that. It's like this doesn't make sense. Like, what do you mean? That's Jennifer Lawrence. Me. What do you mean? What do you mean? Literally, that was me because I we are not you and I aren't like PR anything.
[00:46:07] We have not gone like we don't have a degree in this nothing. But we are we have brains and we we would have been like breathing. No, like don't file for divorce first. Yeah, I feel him and file for divorce. I feel like she hasn't had good counsel.
[00:46:27] Yeah. For a lot of her life. Yep. I agree with you on that. Yeah, like just nobody really looking out for her. Unfortunately, ever. And it just even now I'm just like, who are your friends? How do we get something to look?
[00:46:44] I feel like if people had just looked out for her and been nice to her, she succeeds. The money rolls in everybody benefits and then she doesn't have to, you know, suffer so much. I just true.
[00:46:58] It just makes me sick to my stomach how much she's been taken advantage of and just not had the right people in her corner forever. Yeah, that's true. Oh, it's just it's really painful, y'all.
[00:47:13] And of course, this is, I think, the start of the end or the spiral almost where now everything is really about control. So there's pages and pages upon how Kevin Federline somehow gets full custody of kids he's never seen before, it feels like.
[00:47:36] And. Is like Kirsten said, the security guards are still keeping her out, but now the paparazzi has shown up and is adding to her insult to injury, constantly posting about her, you know, knocking on this man's door and not getting to see the kids, blah, blah, blah.
[00:47:57] And even one person was like, didn't think to say, wow, she really cares about her kids. No, it just she must be an unfit mother. That's why they won't let her in. Yeah, like just absolutely no due diligence whatsoever. She talks about.
[00:48:15] Obviously, the the big one is where she ultimately shaves her head and then when the paparazzi still won't let her leave, she like hits their car with an umbrella, which obviously everyone has seen the images. Yeah, like I vividly remember when that was on me.
[00:48:35] And hearing her side of that really just it just breaks your heart. Like the whole book is just like repeated heartbreak over and over and over again.
[00:48:46] Yeah. And we should just like anyone that like consumed it and didn't feel bad for her should just feel a lot of shame. I really. Yeah. Even if you think that she's an unreliable narrator, even if you think that not everything in the memoir is true, whatever.
[00:49:07] How how do you not finish reading this book and just feel horrible for all the things that have happened to her? Like any celebrity memoir may not all be true. Any celebrity memoir may you like.
[00:49:20] But I just feel like I've seen a lot of that, like about Britney in general.
[00:49:24] People just really are unwilling to see her as a grown adult with agency in her life because maybe they've just only known her as not having agency for so long that they don't know what it's like now that she has her freedom back.
[00:49:40] But that doesn't just because it was taken away for so long doesn't mean it's OK to continue to take that away and question her like memoir, which I've seen a lot of people I feel like commenting like me too. Or like she's gone crazy again.
[00:49:56] Blah, blah, blah. Like what a disgusting way to speak. And it's just it's horrible. Then, of course, she talks a lot also about like being over sexualized and like her hair being a big part of that, which is why also she ends up shaving her head.
[00:50:14] It's just all of it compounded by the fact that she hasn't seen her kids for weeks. Right at this point. But there's a loser that won't let her see your kids that still has full custody of the kids.
[00:50:25] Who like probably also isn't seeing the kids and just has an innie with them at this point. That would be my assumption because I don't really get the sense that he's father of the year at any point. But yeah, and the magazines feel that way about him.
[00:50:39] Yeah, nobody. Hey, her youngest is 18 now, so he has to get a job again. Yep. I'm so glad. Literally. So and that's the other thing to look at.
[00:50:51] There's multiple points in the book where Brittany talks about her hair and how the long hair is a symbol of femininity and how everybody wants to see her shake her long hair around and dance with her hair.
[00:51:03] And like she talks about that in the later part when we talk about the conservatorship and the Vegas residency. But this is also an instance of that where she knows that the people want her to be, you know, the long hair and all of that.
[00:51:19] And she couldn't do it anymore. And this was also when she had dyed her hair brown. And it was just like a very different time.
[00:51:30] At the same time that all this is happening, this is also when her album Blackout is produced and released, which is like an incredible album. And she had so much control over it. And she recognizes in the book how incredible the album was.
[00:51:50] And it's just so... I remember the songs coming out. I remember Gimme More coming out and it being like, oh yeah, these songs are good. But look at what's happening.
[00:52:04] And I feel like even though it was a critically acclaimed album, it still didn't receive the due that it should have because everyone was too concerned with Brittany's mental health in a weird way.
[00:52:17] Not in a, oh we want to help her way, regardless of what anyone might say. Yep. Agreed. It's just so painful. And of course, then she went out drinking one night. Her mom was taking care of her kids.
[00:52:36] I feel like again, as a 30 something year old, I feel like that's normal if I had a kid and my mom would take care of my kid and I, you know, come home after drinks, whatever.
[00:52:45] Turns out for a 20 something year old, like mid-20s or early mid-20s was not acceptable. Mom is a horrible person and decides that that is just like lays into Brittany. And this is where I think she starts seeing that her family really isn't for her.
[00:53:06] And of course, she's like paying for her family. She's bought them condos, bought them houses, you know, fix up stuff in Louisiana.
[00:53:14] Jamie Lynn Spears, her sister is out, you know, according to Brittany, become like a brat and kind of just like, you know, grew up with a different life because they just had money when Jamie Lynn was born versus when Brittany was born.
[00:53:28] All of this compounds to one day, her mom calls her over to like, you know, talk or like after a sleepover. And again, her mom slept like they did a cute little sleepover. And this is after that. I just feel fucked up.
[00:53:46] Where now they decide you've been out of control. It's time almost basically for you to go into a conservatorship. Yeah. Like basically it's described as like, oh, you know, the police are looking for you. You need to come over and just talk to them.
[00:54:03] And she's like, I haven't done anything. Like, what do you mean? Like, just like come over. It'll just be better if you just come over. And then she basically describes it as like a SWAT team comes in. Yeah. And then takes her to like a rehab facility.
[00:54:15] And I just like don't understand any of this, like literally the whole time I was reading, I was like, what do you what? Well, and that's the thing to write. Like this is from Brittany's perspective.
[00:54:26] I feel like all of this was happening behind the scenes behind her back. And she didn't know all of the pieces that were going into place. Right.
[00:54:36] And I would doubt that even now she knows all of the things that were done ahead of the conservatorship to ensure that she was placed in one. Yeah. And so we get it as this very confusing story that doesn't really make a lot of sense.
[00:54:50] But that's how it felt for her as someone who didn't have the information and didn't know what was happening. And all of a sudden she's getting arrested by like a bunch of cops and taken to rehab when she doesn't seem to have any substance abuse issues.
[00:55:07] And again, a huge just like gas lit as hell. Right. Like constantly being told that she is an alcoholic and has substance abuse issues, which equals why she needs help. Blah, blah, blah. It's just like all of it together.
[00:55:28] So the just absolute hypocrisy of her father, who literally is an alcoholic and has screwed over their family many times while in the throes of addiction, which like obviously, yes, addiction is a sickness.
[00:55:43] And you can't necessarily put all that blame on someone for what they do while they're struggling.
[00:55:48] But like just for the fact that someone who actually does have addiction issues is gaslighting Brittany and talking about how she has addiction issues and then takes complete control of her life, finances and career.
[00:56:01] Huh? Like I feel like it never should have been him that was allowed to have any sort of control.
[00:56:08] And and we'll not go into this, but I did watch a few YouTube videos about how there was this like, again, set up since 2005 on like like they were always crumbs by TriStar Entertainment, entertainment like Lou Taylor, her dad and her dad.
[00:56:28] Like basically they were both kind of like figuring out who was going to take over conservatorship and who would it be? Lou Taylor at one point was going to be the co-owner like and with Jamie.
[00:56:41] And then at a certain point, Jamie was it was going to be her lawyer. But then they deemed that the lawyer was not fit. But this like loser dad that, you know, is only out to get her money is fit. Like, yeah, it just real.
[00:56:55] It really feels like just the whole family and TriStar like schemed for years to make it happen. It's so sad. Yeah. And like I said, there's many YouTube videos like detailing the emails. Go look that up. But Lou Taylor, she still needs to get her due.
[00:57:18] It's the point. And then, of course, TriStar comes in and then there's a man named Richie and Richie and her dad really are the in cahoots. Mom is now playing the like weak woman role of like, I don't know what to do.
[00:57:38] This is a fact that she remarried him after she had left him 10 years after. Maybe as he finally had money in my stomach.
[00:57:48] And not only that, the worst thing about her mom and this is why Brittany says that she actually hit her mom more is because her mom writes a book about her and everything going on with her.
[00:58:03] And not only that, she like shares pictures of Brittany's when she shaved her head and all of this stuff. And basically, Brittany feels like once she shaved her head, she became ugly. And then her mom didn't love her anymore. And they constantly like talk about that.
[00:58:27] Yeah, it's like a whole thread through the whole book is about her family and how they talk about her appearance, which seems to be even harsher than how anyone else talked about her appearance, which is brutal because she was absolutely torn to shreds by the paparazzi.
[00:58:43] And I'm just so confused why celebrities won't drop this horrible devil. Yeah, yeah. Because Michael Lohan has also accused her of trying to put Lindsay Lohan in the conservatorship. So, yeah. So it just seems like. Yeah. And Courtney Love. Yeah, as well. It's yeah.
[00:59:10] There's so much more to it is I feel like we could do a whole episode just like on conservatorship. Yeah, that's so true. That's so true.
[00:59:19] It's just the point is like, yeah, Jamie Lynn Spears, Post Malone, Meghan Trainor, Kim Kardashian, of course, the Kardashians and Jenner's Travis Scott. Again, that whole crew, Reba, Priyanka Chopra, Diddy, Steven Tyler, Mary J. Blige, like what the f... Like this is horrible.
[00:59:39] And it's just crazy because her dad was like working as a caterer. And then all of a sudden it seems like he owed. So reasons unknown. But this is a conspiracy theory. This is mega allegedly, allegedly, allegedly. Well, she talks about this in the book as well, though.
[01:00:00] Yeah, no, but it's just we don't know why. But I'm saying I have a theory. OK, is there reasons unknown? Right. That like Tristar gives Jamie Spears a forty thousand dollar loan shortly before he filed for conservatorship.
[01:00:14] And this is cited actually as one of the reasons why he did have a conflict of interest later on. And, you know, that helps Britney get free.
[01:00:23] But it seems like there were emails around that time from Lou, Jamie and Jamie's attorney basically hatching a plan for the conservatorship. And I believe that they probably saw him out to say like, like Meghan Markle's dad.
[01:00:39] Right. Like how do we get some like loser like that is going to turn on their family that are going to ruin the family and use that for our advantage?
[01:00:50] Because a lot of Britney's money, I think, was about to be in her trust in Lou Taylor's like established trust. Mm hmm. OK, OK. Yeah. So again, people need to look into this horrible person because she sucks.
[01:01:08] And I just I don't understand how all of this comes together and how your parents can just be this evil. Yeah, I I genuinely don't get that. But yeah. So she's in the conservatorship for 13 years.
[01:01:25] There's several different times when she gets sent to different types of facilities over the course of this. At one point, she has a boyfriend who gets her on like energy supplements. I don't know what the energy supplements are.
[01:01:42] It seemed it sounded to me like vitamins and stuff like that. Like B12 maybe or some shit like that. And basically gives her energy. And so she likes taking the supplements. Maybe it's some MLM shit. I have no idea.
[01:01:55] And the family, you know, you would like you can't take these like we have to control the intake of everything you have. And like the final time that we read about her being in rehab, she had started taking these energy supplements again.
[01:02:09] And they basically say, well, if you're doing this, like you're probably doing way worse stuff behind our back as if she had any access to do anything behind their back. And they put her in the most extreme facility I think I've ever read about.
[01:02:25] She's in basically solitary confinement for months. She's they changed her medication to put her on lithium. Lithium is basically like the most intense mental health drug that you can be on. That her grandma was on. And it's the same one that her grandma was put on as well.
[01:02:42] Like it is like there are people that need lithium. And in my knowledge, which admittedly I'm not a doctor, not a psychologist, anything like that. Like I can't speak definitively, but I'm pretty sure that generally speaking, lithium is given to people with schizophrenia.
[01:02:59] Like it's a serious medication for the people that need it. And I don't think she probably needed it. Doesn't seem like to me. But again, obviously I'm not a doctor. I don't know. And she was on Prozac. Like that is like self-admitted.
[01:03:17] But then it seems like they almost replaced Prozac and gave her lithium. Or we don't know because it's a cocktail of drugs she was taking every single day. And there was a lot of fat shaming that came with this.
[01:03:30] Yeah, all just talking about her body, how it's not doing what they want it to be. And it's like, well, she's getting older and you're now putting her on medication that she's saying is taking away all her energy. Like I don't really know what you expect from her.
[01:03:45] They also are taking away like any creative agency. Like she didn't want to do the Vegas residency. And there was no flexibility in arrangements of songs and changing the set list and changing the dances.
[01:04:02] And so at a certain point, she just kind of stopped giving it her all. And she's like, I know they want me to shake my hair and I'm not doing it. And she feels like tight wigs to make sure nothing would move.
[01:04:14] Yeah, she'd be wearing those tight, tight wigs and she would not move her head. That head was not moving and then the hair on it was not moving. And she feels bad that she robbed her fans of the experience of seeing her properly.
[01:04:27] But she just had to be true to how she was feeling. And it's like they were using her as a workhorse and she was like, I'm going to do the work I have to do and not one stitch more. Yeah. Oh, it's just it's just brutal.
[01:04:44] And basically, eventually, she's like what I think it's while she's in the institution, she starts seeing that people are wearing free Britney shirts and that people care and that people want her to be freed.
[01:04:58] And it like lights a fire in her to get a new attorney, which she had tried to do in the past. But basically, like the conservatorship was like, no, you're not allowed to have a new lawyer,
[01:05:08] which seems like a big flaw in the system that no one was able to give her actual legal advice because she could have had a new lawyer the whole time.
[01:05:19] Exactly. And imagine because she was constantly being threatened that if you do this, you were going to have to go to court. And she was so scarred by court and a court appointed lawyer, you know, for whatever reason is like overworked.
[01:05:37] You know, public defenders like are they just can't it's not something they can do, especially for such a high profile case. And here's my question again. Where is Madonna? Where are these people that maybe can step in?
[01:05:51] I know they eventually a lot of like famous people did step in, but I'm just saying, like at this point, like, is there really not one friend? I have to assume that they were kept away from her.
[01:06:03] Like, I'm sure that there's lots of stories of people trying to get back in touch with her or anything and just being turned away and not allowed. Yeah, not allowed. Right. You're right. That would be my guess. Yeah.
[01:06:15] But just it was way too little too late. She ultimately did get her good lawyer who was like, OK, well, first we're going to get your dad deemed as unfit to be the conservator.
[01:06:30] And once that happens, we will have some real momentum and we will be able to remove the conservatorship in a whole.
[01:06:36] This is where, you know. It was before this podcast existed, but it was big news when Brittany spoke in court about her experience and of being denied, you know, like the health care that she wanted being denied to get married, being denied to have a baby when she wanted to have another child and how trapped she was and how her experience was.
[01:07:00] And I remember people being like, oh, wow, Brittany's well-spoken now. I believe her. It's like people shouldn't have to communicate in a specific way for you to take them seriously. But finally. She was free.
[01:07:18] And this is where she got married to Sam, which that's the story for another memoir. Oh, that was painful. Yeah. She's like reading all the good stuff about him made me sick to my stomach knowing what came next. But basically her life is still not great.
[01:07:40] You know, great. She's free, but she has to deal with all the trauma of all of this and she's doing her best. And she talks about going on a vacation to Mexico and jet skiing and just feeling like herself again for the first time.
[01:07:53] And again, like like everybody else, we just want Brittany to be doing good. Yeah. Yeah. It's just it's really painful.
[01:08:04] And like, again, I just think and I pray that she is able to find peace and it really feels like her sons were the reason why she was able to, like, get through everything.
[01:08:19] Because one day her dad was like really, you know, yelling at her child and who and then the you know, he locked himself in the room. And that seemed to be like almost the switch. And she ends up, you know, calling 911 to report the abuse.
[01:08:37] And that, you know, pushes a lot of stuff. She was also dating Jason Trowick. I'm trying to get a job. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know who was a Hollywood agent, her agent.
[01:08:51] Fun fact. And ends up becoming her co-conservator, which he said that she asked him to be and they were dating for a while. And Brittany, he says Brittany asked him to be that. And it seems like, you know, things were good between them.
[01:09:11] And like she was really excited by him until he became, you know, in charge of her basically. And he does say that he thinks she needed it. And I was like, you were her manager making all this money off of her.
[01:09:27] You know, like how much money as a co-conservator were you making? And he's like, you know, she needed help. She like didn't know, you know, how to act.
[01:09:37] And I was like, it's she literally talks about how she became a child and she regressed because 13 years, you know, they were she was eating chicken and vegetables over and over again. They wouldn't even give her fries.
[01:09:50] Yeah, she would ask and they'd be like, no, you can't have them. Yeah. So it's just absolutely so painful because like all these guys that, you know, came into her life seem to like love her. But it's just money. My God, it just seemed to like take everything.
[01:10:07] And he's like, no, I didn't want the money. Her dad fired me. No, you're not fired. You just became actually more powerful. And it's just it's so painful, even though he was never like in charge of her finances. It doesn't matter.
[01:10:23] Like you had like literal control over her and it's just it's so painful. But it just seems like her kids were the constant bright spot through it all. And it's so nice.
[01:10:39] And I really hope that her and her sons like have a good relationship because it's painful to see that she really doesn't have family because she has.
[01:10:52] And you know, now it makes sense why she's constantly going off on social media about these people, because I think she talks a lot about how social media has been her creative outlet and really a place for her to like breathe.
[01:11:05] Yeah, there's a lot we've missed, but this is like the biggest piece of it. And shout out to her kids. I feel like keeping her alive through it all in her willpower.
[01:11:17] And hopefully there I feel like there were stories about the kids being like jerks to her and they were doing that anymore. I really hope that that's no longer the case. Yeah. And, you know, after the book came out, a lot of stuff has happened.
[01:11:31] You know, people are dying to buy the film rights. Yes. Timbaland chose to open his mouth and say, oh, you should have had Britney muzzled. Well, maybe JT should have simply treated her better. I don't know.
[01:11:44] Or maybe you should have a vasectomy and not be a philandering hot mess loser. Hmm. Maybe Timbaland should know, you know, Timbaland, the same man that said he was in love with underage Aaliyah should be muzzled. How about that?
[01:11:58] And like he's just mad because Britney didn't work with him. But that's a story for another day. And yeah, that's that's the main gist. Obviously. I mean, we still spoke for an hour. So, yeah. I mean, what more do you want? Leave Mess Magnets alone. Leave us alone.
[01:12:15] Fizzle, fizzle. Okay, we've stopped it. Okay. Do we have time for a quick anonymous? Yes. Oh, and maybe because this is the first time on YouTube that we're doing an anonymous.
[01:12:28] So for folks who don't know, every Mess Magnets episode, we do an anonymous, which is a listener submitted mess where we just giggle about all our misfortunes. Honestly, just anonymous gossip story.
[01:12:46] If you have one to submit to us, you can send it to tinyurl.com slash mess magnets and we might read it on the show. So this one goes like this. My friend Chloe had been seeing a guy for close to two months.
[01:13:02] They had discussed being exclusive and even him coming with her to her family Thanksgiving. So this past weekend, she was out of town at a wedding. One of our other friends was swiping through the apps.
[01:13:15] This friend came across the guy Chloe was seeing on the app and she sends Chloe screenshots. Chloe confronts this man who she I believe was exclusive with and he says, I had no intention of cheating. I'm just always on the lookout for my future wife.
[01:13:32] So, OK, Chloe and Chloe, I'm so confused. Literally. So Chloe ended things with this man. But just one thing of note is that he was using photos she had taken of him on his dating app. Oh, my God. The thing is, I think I would do it.
[01:13:53] Yeah, like, you know what I mean? Like, I love pictures. I love pictures of myself and I love me. So I don't care that you took the picture. Well, yeah, but you you wouldn't be like on the app while you're exclusive with someone else.
[01:14:11] Right. That's the part that you wouldn't do. So, yeah, that's the only thing for you. Thank you so much to our messenger for sharing. We love you and appreciate you. And again, if anyone has a mask, you can send that to tinyurl.com slash mess magnets.
