[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Hi, I'm Kristen.
[00:00:16] [SPEAKER_00]: An I'm Chappelle.
[00:00:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And this is Mess Magnets.
[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_00]: That's great.
[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_00]: It's obviously not Chappelle.
[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes it is.
[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_01]: It's me, Chappelle, host of the recap kickback.
[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: What up, y'all?
[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Y'all, because I'm from Texas.
[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_01]: What's up everybody?
[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a perfect Chappelle.
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: It's great because Chappelle, probably the one who
[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_00]: wasn't even listening to this and that.
[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, not going to know this happened.
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't matter to me.
[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It's in, it's there if he wanted to find it.
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_01]: So, I, if I wanted to find it because I'm sorry.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, for the people who don't know, we've got the wonderful
[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Phil tea joining us once again.
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Hello, you, you, you, you, you, you.
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm up.
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm well, how are you?
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I am living my life having a great summer, a brat summer,
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_01]: and I'm just chilling, you know?
[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we love brat summer for everyone.
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Have you been listening to the album, Phil?
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I, yeah, let's do a couple tracks.
[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's do a couple tracks.
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I did.
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you know what I mean?
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I know, I kind of know.
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't listen, listen, you know, like, I didn't, like,
[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't take it in, but I kind of just vibe.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Which is that?
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And that, that is the spirit of brat summer in my opinion.
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I personally, to me, msmanence is like,
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_00]: more of like a gym, your mindful podcast or we're doing it.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: We're not doing too much.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: We could do that and be proud at the same time.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Cool.
[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I think, uh, balances the key to anything.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think as long as we're right in that middle line,
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_01]: like we're going to be all right.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: That's perfect.
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And so again for the listeners,
[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Sasha is still out of town.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: She literally posted photos from the safari.
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_00]: She went on a couple of days ago and it was so cool.
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So she's out there living her best life and we're
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_01]: probably on Sasha.
[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you literally just always doing really cool stuff.
[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm always creeping her IG and I'm like,
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: thank you for doing this.
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for sharing with the world.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: So I can pretend I'm also there.
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: It's so great.
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: She's literally on tour, like two thirds of the year at least.
[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And we're just lucky that she ever makes time for us.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_00]: She posted like, oh, I hope my friends.
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't forget about me while I'm gone as if anyone could.
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_01]: We're doing like, she's the main character and I'm way like,
[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm here, twiddling my thumbs, way,
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_01]: you've already get back.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Period, me too.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Should we just jump into some mess, Phil?
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm here for the mess.
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm here to make a mess.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And let's do it.
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_00]: So we talked last week.
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_00]: The majority of the episode was about calling Hoover's novel
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_00]: that ends with us, some of the controversy about her as well as
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_00]: some of the press tour.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_00]: But the press for is not over.
[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_00]: There is still some drama.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So I wanted to give an update on that to everyone before we get into the updates
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Phil, do you have any hot takes about this press tour?
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen anything online that really made you feel really,
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I just don't think like, uh, I have anything
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_01]: scorching to add to this, but you know, I don't really, uh, well, I guess what
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: you were saying?
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have nothing that.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I got to say, I've nothing that is, it's too, it's, it's,
[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_01]: nothing that hasn't already been said.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel okay.
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, that's one of my segments is literally all about it.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So you're in a perfect place for that.
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I was talking with Tori from Ready to Be Petty like last week about this.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I might have even said this on last week's podcast.
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_00]: But we're both just like, they want to be the don't worry darling drama so bad and they're just,
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_00]: you do have a guess.
[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm, it just is still in the back of my mind.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I want us all to remember that even as more and more TMZ stories are
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_00]: malintang, they could never be.
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Somebody needs to talk.
[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Tua on somebody else.
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the only way this is going to get interesting.
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly until we're watching slow mode that it doesn't even matter.
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's, like not like a lot new, new but a few more pieces of information have come out since then.
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_00]: The wildest of which was that Blake lively allegedly got someone to create a whole second cut
[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_00]: of the movie that was how she wanted it to be instead of just about don't you want it to be.
[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, okay, okay.
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: That's that's the next sentence.
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: That's too much money if you're doing this shit.
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Like that's like so that's ridiculously expensive.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: What?
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, so wait, did they just took like shots that, or they took the base movie that already exists
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: and just like cut it differently or like how did she has access to the footage and she was trying to
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_00]: see is an executive producer.
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know, you're the one who's in the industry.
[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_00]: So you could tell me about it.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not industry.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_00]: But I have to imagine that that means that she has some level of access to the raw
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_00]: footage that make this.
[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And if she was just the star, she wouldn't have.
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess if she you know, but put money into it and she probably can do whatever she wants.
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Right? So yeah, it makes a lot of sense.
[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: But that's just like I feel like I love that for like,
[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, nerds that just do that on you.
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like somebody just got a job out of that.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's like I respect that.
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I love that for them.
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And I hope that she paid them hand simply.
[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I hope so too.
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope they made a lot of money.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't I'm not sure based on all of like again, we don't even know this is 100% true as with most of the
[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_00]: information.
[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_00]: But I also am like, so which cut made it to theaters or like just some theaters have the
[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Blake cut and some theaters have the justing.
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't understand what the purpose of that is.
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe for her, maybe this is like a deeply like personal thing for her.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I feel like seemingly like she thought this was going to be like an Oscar,
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_01]: like Oscar, bait movie or whatever and like she's she's like very attached.
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe she went full like Daniel Day and she was like, you know, I guess that's pretty probably
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_01]: pretty dark time line to go down if she went full Daniel Day for this.
[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't I don't I got to tell you.
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that everything I know about Daniel Day Louis, I know from Bojak Horseman.
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Like what do you mean go for?
[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so Daniel Day Louis is like a like a method actor like he'll just like go like deep into like
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_01]: he like to get to really submerge himself into the role.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love that.
[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_01]: It'll go like get somebody or like I don't know like you let's go.
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Go do a bunch of cocaine or like yeah, this is all allegedly allegedly.
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And I just had to say it.
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Also, you know some other people who do this famously,
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Kendall from succession.
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I forgot how how do I forget how did I forget how my god I'm a terrible person.
[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what there's actually just like so much.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_01]: There's so much information in the world that I can't just remember everything,
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_01]: you know that's that's crazy and obviously his name is Jeremy Strong.
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Jeremy Strong.
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Shialoboff is a method actor as well.
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Right, didn't he like stab his eye or something for the thing when it comes into
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: discussions of method acting?
[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I think some people are genuinely method actors and that's what they do.
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think some people just really want to like be shitty.
[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And so they just do shitty things and then say oh, I was method acting.
[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I couldn't help it. I had to like do X Y and Z.
[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're like taking the excuse of like oh like this is for my job.
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It's less like you know like when you like expensive company car and you're like oh like
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: you know this is for my you know it's like kind of like uh yo I have this opportunity
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_01]: to play this really shitty person maybe if I'm really shitty.
[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_01]: If I'm shitty in real life I'll give a better performance wink wink actually though.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I just want to be sure. You just want to hurt people.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you never hear about people being method actors for like comedic roles or like wholesome
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_00]: movies it's always like oh I'm almost a people worst person in America.
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I'm about to be the worst man in America.
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me do that for real.
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean I mean you're you're fully right. I'm fully on board with it.
[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_01]: That being said now you know fire.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_00]: It's basically accidentally method acted in crossroads.
[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_00]: That's why she doesn't work.
[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_00]: She accidentally became like her dad doesn't hurt her.
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Who what did she do in crossroads that was like the main character?
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it was the thing that she was like
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_01]: trying to get into character four. Isn't this isn't it like a road trip movie?
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a road trip movie and there's like a lot of drama um no she's like accidentally
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_00]: like just started operating as her character in her real life.
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I actually thought it was like I can I can never act again.
[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_01]: That's wild.
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I have to watch crossroads. Well, I probably won't.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I want to because I want to have one next for this conversation right now.
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Should it hold up you think when was crossroads?
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I was 2001.
[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, crossroads came out a long time ago and I have not watched it in at least
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_00]: 15, 20. I don't know if I've watched crossroads for 20 years.
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I came out in 2002.
[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. Well, look, I think if Rini wants to get back into it she should.
[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I think like it's not though like that's okay but like I really think she might you know
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_01]: she might she might she's a talented woman. So
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_00]: okay so I like this I like this theory that Blake is maybe going to go into method acting from here
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_00]: out. It would maybe be the most actual acting.
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she comes from me in the book.
[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm to be fair. I think you guys made fair points but I was just like like you know
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah, she probably is never gonna get an Oscar and she's probably never gonna listen to this.
[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I think we're allowed to say Blake lively sucks. It's okay.
[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, one I think that maybe one day she'll be in something that's like an Oscar move.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just like the idea that this book adaptation would be the one is laughable to me personally
[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and Shepel as you know Shepel. So okay then the news came in that Justin Bell don't
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: hired Crisis PR manager Melissa Nathan who has a roster of clients including Drake,
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Johnny Depp, the chain smokers, Logan Paul and then like H.Y.B.E. America.
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like a lot of those people you just named suck but like at the same time they're still
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_01]: working so her job like I think she's doing a good job. She must be doing it. Well and like
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_00]: everyone needs PR. I do think she also represented George Floyd's family in 2020. So like
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that she is evil and that it necessarily makes you evil to have hired her.
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Right, she just like you know hashtag doing her job. Yeah, she's good at public relations
[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_00]: and so but this is where we start seeing so many more stories coming out like it was literally like
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_00]: he hired Melissa and then like an hour later it's like story I like so many kind of
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_00]: hip-paces on people actually started coming out so it's not great. Right it's just like about
[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_01]: throwing a bunch of like garbage into the fire to make it bigger and bigger and bigger to
[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_01]: track from all those shitty things that has have been circulating about the situation.
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And Blake, I believe also like stories are coming out of her camp as well like a story the same
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: day dropped where um so Blake filmed this movie very shortly after having her fourth child and she
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_00]: felt you know self-conscious about her body there's a scene in the movie where Justin had to pick
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Blake up and so Justin asked like I just need to know like I'm curious how much she weighs
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_00]: so that I can train so that I do the lift properly because I back problems I don't want her myself
[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_00]: and she was like I felt fat shamed because of that and I think like it's fair to be
[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_00]: feels kind of way when someone starts asking you about your weight but I also like
[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: guess to pick you up I you'll really hurt my feelings if someone had to pick me up for work they
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_00]: didn't ask how much I weighed and then they threw out their body. Yeah and then they fucking drop
[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_01]: you on the floor yeah that kind of sucks uh yeah I mean uh I I I I I I I feel agree I think yeah
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_00]: so it's a that's a it's a tough situation there also was allegedly a situation on set where
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Blake felt that Justin lingered longer than he should have in the kiss in the scene which is like
[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_00]: obviously we don't want anyone to be uncomfortable and set and that is horrible. Mm-hmm
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: there's also a story came out that was just all of the statements Blake lively and Justin
[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Bell don't even made about uh intimacy coordinators on such there wasn't intimacy coordinator on set
[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_00]: which is supposed to make people feel safe in situations like that so I'm not sure who the failure is
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_00]: if someone's not feeling safe in a sexy. Yeah I don't know that's like it's a very complex
[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_01]: situation and it's like how how far we go to make this look real and then how far is it like
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_01]: going too far what's everybody comfortable with can your comfort ability level change
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_01]: after something's happened like it's really a complex situation and I uh that's why it's not my job
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_00]: because I'm just very glad to hear that they're even were intimacy coordinators on set which is like
[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_00]: this part of the uh actually the new deal that the union got was to make the mandatory and pretty sure
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Wow because I think don't worry darling didn't have intimacy coordinators let me confirm this
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah I don't think that they had yeah it doesn't look like don't worry darling did not have
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_00]: an intimacy coordinator so that's messed up so well they're taking steps in the right direction
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_00]: wow striking works love it support we support the union period um okay so
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: now all of these like historic issues of Blake being kind of shitty or coming out and so
[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_00]: in 2008 um when this was on Blake Liveley's on gossip girl and the uh she was doing an
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_00]: interview for the movie the private lives of Pippa Lee which I have never heard of until I saw
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_00]: this article so I guess the press talked for that one wasn't very good have you ever seen the
[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_00]: movie the private lives of Pippa Lee absolutely not so I guess on that movie she had a kissing scene
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_01]: with Alan Arkin I don't even know who Alan Arkin is uh an older gentleman from uh I do one now
[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I see him I know him he's a little in the sunshine oh no that's not Alan Arkin that's uh
[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_00]: no anyways Alan Arkin the why is it hey no but why why is it spelled exactly like the article and
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_01]: then it's showing me this old man from um little in the sunshine uh I you look Google doesn't work right now
[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_00]: so uh yeah I should be I actually let me go to Bing.com and share that I'm looking for your
[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_00]: right I'm not even kidding I literally went to Bing Bing is also bad they're all bad everything's
[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Bing is better than Google right now which is actually the worst thing I've ever heard of my life
[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_00]: okay anyways yeah I regard this I don't I don't know Alan Arkin is and I guess that's just
[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_00]: not my business because uh Serge engines won't allow me to look him um so she'd a kissing scene with him
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_00]: and she says oh he's a bit of a a little bit of an upgrade from Chase Crawford and
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Penn Badge Lee so I'm looking forward to that and then the interviewer go like asks because
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_00]: like lively dated Penn Badge Lee in real life like around this time and she's like oh like
[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: didn't you date and she goes I thought this was New York Magazine I thought you were supposed
[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_01]: to be classy. Well maybe they didn't know maybe did that end badly I don't even know.
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it ended badly but I do think that uh the gossip girl cast does not keep up with
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Blake lively like none of them follow her she doesn't follow any of them um like even like the
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_00]: actress who played her mother doesn't follow her but she follows everyone else on the cast like it's
[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think she's well-wired from her cast maids and I'll not show it least.
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like a real life Serena. So everything is been charming. Okay well sorry I haven't I like I saw
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_00]: it's actually Serenus whole thing is making questionable decisions um murdering men so I actually
[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_00]: don't know that much about Blake lively's work in that field okay but yeah I feel like
[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think saying I thought this was supposed to be classy is like that big of a deal.
[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I think I mean I'm never gonna defend like celebrity acting a little like uh you know
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_01]: out of pocket or whatever but it's like uh you know I feel like if they're not prepared to answer
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_01]: something they're just gonna react like how a human would react right so that's I feel fine.
[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah that's not moving the needle for me. Right um there is also some some stuff has come out from
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: 2012 uh for Blake repeatedly using a slur well where does use as a slur against transgender people
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_00]: where she's basically the sentiment of what she's saying is that she really hopes she has
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_00]: daughters and she doesn't have daughters she hopes that ultimately she has transgender daughters
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_00]: so that she could share all her designer clothes with them but she refers to them in a word
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_00]: that she shouldn't be using that I'm not I don't want audio of me saying that word. Oh yeah I
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_01]: was proven in the name of journalism I'm not saying it. Right okay so you know I trust you I trust
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah I don't know about that one um it's so wait see it's so this all spiraled after just in hired
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_01]: this PR person like this is like array articles just dropped about Blake lightly.
[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_00]: They like they and they haven't all dropped at once but basically just he hired Melissa and seemingly
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_00]: immediately all of these historical articles where Blake is like not great started dropping so like
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe there's like a coordinated PR attack I don't know. Listen Melissa if you're listening to this
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah please please leave us alone we we're lowly we're lowly uh the podcasters we don't you know
[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_01]: we're not heard anybody uh yeah that's terrifying. Uh um we're and then there's one more
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_00]: older interview that's really been making the rounds as soon as from 2016 and this is where
[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Blake lightly was doing an interview for I don't even know which always about the movie cafe society
[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_01]: which is another movie I've never over my head again yeah this is uh this is Blake
[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_01]: lightly's post gossip girl career where she just just does a bit of unsigned stuff. I mean it seems
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_00]: like she's done just like a lot more acting than I thought that she had so good for her.
[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep and so in that moment this is um Blake was pregnant at the time and her pregnancy was announced
[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_00]: publicly like everyone knew about it. It wasn't like as secret and the interviewer goes like oh
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_00]: like and congratulations on your little bump and Blake goes yeah and congratulations on your little
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_00]: bump to like the very obviously not pregnant interviewer because she's mad that her body got commented
[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_00]: on which like yeah that's a tough line too the commenting on bodies but I also feel like
[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_00]: if you're pregnant and people know about it people can congratulate you on that I would have thought
[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I think um yeah it's I mean not me personally couldn't catch me doing it couldn't catch
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_01]: me ever doing it even if I know 100% I'm just like I'm just chill I'm not gonna say anything
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_01]: because you know that's a place no my place it's fine you know once the baby's out then I'll say
[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_01]: wow congratulations on your your baby I think yeah you really are not baby you really did
[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_00]: the growing of a specimen inside you. Some it but yes so that article that like you started
[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_00]: making their rounds again and then now there's like interviews with the interviewer from that
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_00]: where she's like oh I actually have fertility problems so really hurt when Blake said that to me
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_01]: and it's like just messy it's so messy yeah that's tough it just feels a lot like
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_01]: unwinnable situation where everything just kind of fell apart there.
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_00]: It's the wheels all fell off and then there is one like one specific interview during the
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_00]: ends with us press that people are really not impressed with Blake and basically the interviewer
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_00]: is saying and the interviewer is Jay Campbell 10 and he says you know the the topics of this movie are
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_00]: deeply personal and on that personal level people are gonna want to talk to you the movie is
[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_00]: going to affect people they're going to want to tell you about their lives and they say so if someone
[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_00]: understands the themes of this movie comes across you in public and they really want to talk to
[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_00]: about it what's the best way for them to be able to talk to you about this how do you recommend
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_00]: they go about it and I just need to say that's a crazy question just to begin with.
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah because I don't think like you should like I mean when you've talked about this last week
[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I was deeply uncomfortable with the subject matter and I like I didn't I did like I have I had
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_01]: heard of this movie but I didn't know anything about like literally I knew nothing about it well
[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_01]: you guys described it last week and like I feel like yeah I feel like on one hand it's like putting
[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_01]: a lot of the like on his on Blake to like respond to this like super heavy topic and like come
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_01]: come across like some all-knowing person that knows the exact right thing to say I think anything you
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_01]: about this movie should be a treat with kid clubs because like yeah it's it's very it's very
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_00]: very dark I I think from a PR perspective I think they should have just not done a press tour
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and just all been providing resources about domestic violence. Yeah that probably solves it but
[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_01]: also then it's like oh I guess celebrities aren't talking about my movie that we just made so like
[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_01]: our people gonna care about this to the internet. Yeah it's a horrible situation I think this
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_00]: question is crazy but what's even worse is Blake's response because she goes oh maybe asking for
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_00]: like my address or my phone number or like location share I could just location share them
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_00]: like just totally you know like her cast again. No one needs a PR person Blake. 100% and it's
[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_00]: seen like I was watching a lot of TikToks about this and it's like Blake has had a pretty good
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_00]: you know public persona for a long time people think about like her and Ryan Reynolds is like a
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_00]: funny couple they make fun of each other they just like live their lives it's because she doesn't
[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_00]: really do interviews. She gets to kind of like make her own narrative by like not speaking
[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and so I participating to this level in a press tour is giving people you know more of a view
[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_00]: into her personality than they've had before maybe they don't like it as much. Yeah which kind
[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_01]: of sucks because it's like like Jesus like I don't know like it makes me sad to like find like I
[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_01]: don't even feel comfortable. I know it's hard. I don't know anything about these people
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_01]: but I had to find like I think you could treat people nice I don't think it's that hard.
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like I'm very simplistic. I want that's I kind of am of the opinion like I'm not
[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not picking a side in any of this like I feel like there's been missteps from every side and
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: the fact that Justin Ball don't even wanted to buy the film right to it ends with us is enough for me
[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_00]: personally to have some negative feelings there and also everything else with this press tour
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_00]: is giving negative negativity on both sides. So it's like maybe some media training could be really helpful
[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_00]: to definitely there. The other thing that's like crazy is add a lot of these like events for
[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_00]: ends with us you'll see clips of like lively like showing off her new hair care line and her cocktail
[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_00]: line to journalists. I'm like no maybe maybe you do that at a different time.
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So tacky dude but it's just like it's the world we live in right it's like oh my god like
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_01]: but it's like yeah that sucks like this is this movie you know like yeah
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm about everything it's like like this is this movie and you're going to be like trying to sell me
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_00]: something in a fucking interview about it like yeah and it's also just a lot of like oh where
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_00]: your florals and go to see it ends with us while like why are we marketing this like it's the
[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Barbie movie this to me the fact that this movie isn't technically like a psychological thriller
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_01]: makes me sick to my stomach. Yeah because like I had no idea it was a dark movie like I had no idea
[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I had like and like to like find that out and then like look at the marketing and be like holy shit like
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_00]: yikes big big yikes. It's no no good um but that's all I've got that's all I've got on the updates
[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_00]: on the end ends with us and I pray to God that next week there's nothing else to say about it.
[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah well I mean ultimately this probably will just get buried underneath more internet
[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_01]: got our pollution so it's fine. Well we'll want to the next thing soon it's fine.
[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I love that yeah I got it again just like very shortly before we recorded today about a
[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_00]: some TikTok drama but I didn't have time to look into it because it was like right before we
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_01]: recording so maybe that'll get talked about next week sorry sorry oh my god that's my that's my
[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_00]: expertise I feel like you know I'm gonna have to explain it to me honestly who's it about name drop now
[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_00]: let me let me look who it's um the message says it's it's with NYC and blue insert stuff
[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_01]: and it's so feel a corn hally Kate okay I don't know who those what happened okay okay no you're right save
[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_01]: it dude that's just like a little tease for next week mess I'm gonna I'm gonna do some research into
[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_00]: that one and see if I can can put it together but yeah there's there's really more stuff on the
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_00]: internet to talk about thank god um we now have one like very sad story to just touch on lightly
[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_00]: just because I feel like this is something that really hits for people about our age yeah
[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_00]: like a very upsetting so obviously it was it was last year right last year Matthew
[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_00]: probably passed away so he passed away from a I think it was like a cadamine overdose in his
[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_00]: hot tub situation very very sad after a lifetime of struggling with addiction and just this
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_00]: past week a number of people have been charged his dad including his assistant doctors
[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and two of the doctors are now not allowed to write any prescriptions which I would say yeah if you are
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_00]: describing cadamine for someone who has addiction you shouldn't be allowed to prescribe drugs to
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_00]: people anymore but just so people know we saw the story because I don't want to see like a hundred
[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_00]: people submit oh did you see this into the so wait what like I guess I don't know
[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_01]: intimate details of what happened but like wow that the the assistant got charged as well
[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah so I apparently the like oh this is super alleged obviously we don't know all of the details but
[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess like rape like the last thing he said before he passed away was basically like oh give me a
[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_00]: good one I've got the hot tub already like the assistant maybe like was administering doses are helping
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_00]: with that in some way oh I don't know 100% but basically like cadamine therapies are real
[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_00]: thing that it has you know obviously limited studies to this point but like studies to show that
[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_00]: it can help people I don't believe cadamine therapy is advised for people with addiction issues
[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I think LSD is more so advised in that situation but also that's always in a doctor's office
[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_00]: under the supervision of a doctor not at your home in a hot tub at night so I don't know I think that
[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_00]: probably you know allegedly and might just my personal opinion is that some doctors
[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_00]: saw a way to take advantage of someone and get a lot of money and money didn't work out well as
[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_00]: never does I mean they still wait initially they could still prescribe medicine but now they can't
[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_00]: so just recently then yeah that was the update I just saw the article at the bottom from two days ago
[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_00]: said physicians charged free to prescribe medication but then thankfully there's an update that they
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_01]: are not just getting yeah okay no longer allowed great amendment I support that phenomenal yeah
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_00]: oh and one of the doctors doctor Shabaz has already cut a deal with prosecutors and pled guilty
[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_01]: to conspiracy to distribute pedamine wow well well well yeah it's just really unfortunate like
[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_00]: that's oh man okay I'm trying like really so no this is just sad this is like a sad story I
[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_00]: really not a fun thing to talk about just wanted to put in the podcast so that people aren't like
[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_00]: why didn't you talk about this so now we've we've talked about it it's super sad and hopefully
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_00]: something is learned and this type of stuff doesn't happen anymore um do you want to talk about fun stuff now
[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah yeah I'm let's take the edge off huh that'd be great I'm into it so we're gonna get into
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_00]: some quick bites that are a little bit more fun the first one is okay so have you spoken publicly
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_01]: about the Hawke to a girl yeah I don't ever speak publicly this is my reintroduction to speaking
[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_01]: publicly so um no I have not spoken publicly on the Hawke to a girl because you know I
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_01]: is in my place I also don't know yeah I also haven't said anything about her because
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Sasha and Levina talked about her the week that I was not here and my conspiracy theory
[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_01]: about Hawke to a girl's as she is an industry play oh I look it's hard to it's hard to
[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_01]: identify industry plants at this point you know I feel like even if you're not an industry
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_01]: plant people are gonna say you're an industry plant and if you're an industry plant people are
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_01]: gonna say you're an industry plant and then people aren't gonna believe that you're an industry plant it's
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_01]: like you know there's no way to discern which information is correct it's terrifying
[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I just kept the reason why I think so is that she the fact like the video one viral and then it was
[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_00]: within a week she was living in LA and I feel like that's fast and like had it representation
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_01]: and like I don't know I feel like I see this is what's confusing is that I think I feel like I
[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_01]: heard a different narrative of this story I felt like the Hawke to a video went viral
[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_01]: and they spent like two weeks looking for this girl I like they couldn't find her they know
[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_01]: what's right I'm not gonna get it I don't know well look but you know where I get my
[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_01]: information ticked up so you know people can just say whatever they want on there and then all the
[00:36:02] [SPEAKER_01]: sudden you know she's got like Instagram she's like on like podcasts and like doing like
[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_01]: the whole 15-minute tour so I like it like yeah you're back she's kind of funny I think it's you
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_01]: know it's like you know if people want to watch and you got your your there you got to do what you
[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_00]: know well Hawke's Wagirl yes and so good for her again yeah get that big so an article came
[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_00]: out yesterday on TMZ that says Hawke to a girl young gravy's just not my type and so allegedly
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_00]: or she said I guess so she said so I don't know this is what she literally said she said
[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_00]: young gravy slid into her DMs after she skyrocketed to fame and uh she wasn't really that
[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_01]: damn look and that's her preference you know I'm sure you know I'm sure Mr. gravy is uh it's probably
[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_00]: he's gonna be okay I think this is also weird though because isn't young gravy all about people like
[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_00]: people how to as ages mom that's what I was gonna say is that like young gravy I feel like
[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I guess if he did the DM sliding he's obviously interested but like typically I thought I think that was
[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_01]: just a play to get to her mom like I don't know is there is there is that info out there or
[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_01]: there pictures of her mom out there maybe he did some like investigative research into like what
[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_01]: her mom looks like and he's just kind of like laying the bricks down I love this theory
[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_01]: you're going cock I'm trying to look up for mom okay look okay let's let's have a race we're
[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_01]: gonna race to see who can find Hock to a girl's mom first I can't find a picture but I guess I
[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_01]: looked up Hock to it and not her real name no what I don't know real name I saw her on Instagram what's
[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_01]: her real name uh I couldn't remember really well I couldn't remember Jeremy Strong's name and he's
[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_01]: my favorite DM each other all the time I can't believe okay hailey Welch okay that's what now we
[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_00]: now we go misses well I should probably too young to have a Facebook we need to scally where scally
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_01]: find her load the scalli a uh I was gonna say blow the scalli alarm but that doesn't make any sense
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_01]: anyways scalli but I don't know I like that you follow her on Instagram 2000 I know because she was
[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_01]: like okay I'm on so this is I'm gonna admit this and this is so boomer but I am actually more
[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_01]: of an Instagram reals guy because over TikTok because I get a lot of food content and it just
[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_01]: keeps showing me the food content on TikTok I always get just like just like two stuff that's like
[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't even care about and it's like I'm confused because I thought TikTok had the the goaded algorithm
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_01]: that's just gonna show me everything I want to see but I just I don't get the food stuff and
[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I like to watch food videos so okay that's I mean if you're not watching I'm a real
[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_01]: job and seeing new content like that's on me wait what are you talking about I'm a like I'm a food
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_01]: girlie and I'm looking up all the I'm looking up I got the golden balance you know I'm watching
[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_01]: you know all the food content because it's like it's it's happy it's it's happy that's what
[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_00]: you want to see that's I understand TikTok's not showing it like a TikTok would do it then it
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I would yeah I don't think it's easier you navigate why Instagram is easier to navigate like different
[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_01]: people's profiles because I'm like okay if I get on TikTok and I have to like I don't know maybe it's
[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_01]: the same it's all the same it's all rotting my brain so it's um who said our brains need to be fresh anyways
[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_00]: like where we are the official podcast to brain rot but okay I love this theory I I'm gonna just say
[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I believe it wholeheartedly youngerbies trying to get to her mom because I mean like
[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_00]: she's a beautiful girl I'm sure her mom is beautiful too. Right so I think the next the next thing
[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_01]: comes out about this bad better be something about like the moms like does is the mom responding
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_01]: to young gravy's advances because it's like I feel like that's much more his brand I feel like
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_01]: you know I think this is just this was just uh he's he's big branding this I think this is the
[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_01]: and if you know there there are other milfs in the sea for him so if it doesn't work out
[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_00]: honestly put young gravy on big brother because this is so strategic I love to see it
[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_00]: uh for tea to be back on okay so actual girl has also filed a number of trade box marks
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_00]: to launch Hock 2 Us Hendricks businesses um would you like to guess what some of the businesses
[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_01]: could be um okay sure let's say maybe there's a Hock 2 Us sauce like a
[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_01]: like a like a hot there's a barbecue sauce okay yeah okay because she's like she's like a
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_01]: a southern uh person she's from Tennessee yeah right okay okay so this is given me a little bit more
[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_01]: what's Tennessee Tennessee music uh Tennessee uh hmm is our are did she have a rope brand for like
[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_00]: sauce oh man no but that would be so great okay there's one I'm gonna give you a hint that is
[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_00]: very funny and like a gross way just with regards to what oh no oh no she's got a flashlight
[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like that's great it's an outwash oh Jesus okay I thought it was like uh okay all right yeah
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I went to I look you said gross and I went what like what's the grossest funny in a gross way
[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_00]: sorry I am I'm okay the other two that are listed are sunflower seeds and a sports beddings
[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_01]: are good okay the sunflower seeds is funny I like that because you spit out the seeds
[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I actually hate eating sunflower seeds I really it's it's I love sunflower seeds I like the taste
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I like just like getting sunflower seeds and like putting them like on a salad or something
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like like the spits where you have to um you'll eat them too much order yeah yeah
[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_01]: no I agree I agree I I think I prefer sunflower seeds that are I feel like anything that has a shell
[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I would prefer it peeled for me because I'm a little baby so yeah me too and I don't think there's
[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_01]: anything wrong with that but this the sunflower seed hot to us sunflower seeds is funny yeah it didn't
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_00]: even occur because like I literally never buy the sunflower seeds that you have to spit out the shell
[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and so it didn't even occur to me that's a funny joke I was just like okay sunflower seeds
[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know you could buy them dishelled until I was like 28 okay I just learned that
[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_01]: you could just like eat regular stuff because I've been avoiding sunflower seeds all my life I hate spits
[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I like suck in the dill pickle uh yeah I'll be right over here this superior flavor if you're
[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_01]: but it's just too much where it's just like uh it's like I can't eat this whole thing
[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I got like ultimately you eat a bag of spits and you got more shell than you got actual nutrients
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_00]: it's like I am a hypocrite though because I do like pistachios and you can buy it like
[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_00]: you can buy pistachios that are already out of the shell but then I would eat literally 300
[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_00]: pistachios which is just too many pistachios that's okay you see I don't even fault you for that
[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_01]: because like the gold inside of that shell is so delicious so it's worth the work it's worth
[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_01]: the work I feel like a sunflower seed mmm it's it's delicious but it's not enough for me to put
[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_01]: the work in okay well that's that's kind of funny I like I like I like I like the mouth wash
[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_00]: is it like just mint or is it like we don't know we don't have any details about it
[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_00]: we just know that she's taken a trademark out for hopped to uh okay so oh so it doesn't exist yet
[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_01]: yet none of these exist yet well look she yeah who's gonna care and by the time they exist
[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_00]: oh man hey it's too fast this Tim's the article says that it looks like her 15 minutes
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_00]: might be longer than 15 minutes so don't count her out I mean I follow her on Instagram
[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm waiting to see what's happening next I mean I know follow her on Instagram
[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like your corner because like here's the thing like sometimes these people blow up you know and then
[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like where did this person go so like if I ever decide to like you know purge my follower list
[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_01]: or following list like I can go through and be like oh I remember this person or why the
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_01]: fuck do I follow this person you know do you ever do that do you ever cure your follower following list
[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I am constantly curating because I list I will sauce people to follow because I don't really
[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_01]: care about the ratio I'm just like I just want to see like you know I'm really into this right now
[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_01]: or like this is fun I'm gonna do it and then yeah whatever it's fine
[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope she look I hope it's 30 minutes I hope it's 45
[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope that she gets everything she is hoping for out of this pain that's all okay have you
[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_00]: did you pay attention to the Olympics this year I feel like you must have because you were home
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah yeah think that yeah think that but I've actually just been a dissociating for two months so I have no idea
[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_00]: what happened what happened the Olympics we're home the Olympics happened and
[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_00]: what you may not know is that flavor flavor flavor is like the main sponsor of the US women's
[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_00]: uh water bowl of team hello oh yeah I do not know this any basically anytime you see a
[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_00]: a US Olympic athlete uh talking about how they don't have any money you'll see like flavor flavor
[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_00]: posting like I'll pay a rent like I've got you covered like he's especially these women sports
[00:46:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I get less love always like he was at every match at the Olympics like having them up and now
[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_01]: he's like in Vegas partying with the what a hero what an actual uh hero and a savior I respect
[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_01]: what does he do like right now like at this moment like I think like yesterday he was partying
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_00]: with them in Vegas possibly he's still right now they still could be okay that's for
[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_00]: and yeah the women's water polluting finished fourth in the in the Olympics but he's still not
[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_00]: embarrassed to them for not getting a medal he's still pretty good there's still at the Olympics
[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_00]: competing on the high-level possible it's like uh but I mean that also kind of means a little bit
[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_00]: as after you see the um Australian break dance or wait wait have you see wait have you seen
[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_01]: the Australian break dancer from the Olympics no the only thing I saw from the Olympics is that guy
[00:47:52] [SPEAKER_01]: who couldn't get over the poll because he you know of course because he was his giant leader yeah
[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah I'm sending you a global news link right now in the point of this
[00:48:06] [SPEAKER_00]: local my um so I think you'll be able you'll see her performing in the start of this video
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_01]: okay Rachel gone she gets referred to as Ray Gun oh okay I've seen this way yeah I think I've seen this
[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_00]: wait you've probably seen the actual like one of her at the Olympics okay I bet okay right
[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_00]: okay yeah okay I got the content you may be didn't realize that that was an Olympic level athlete
[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_00]: based on what you were eating um so anyway just maybe be better than you may yeah you know
[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_00]: you're right I couldn't do that I do think or does zero on her break dancing or no but there's
[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_00]: wait actually we haven't talked about this at all there's some conspiracy theories about Ray Gun
[00:48:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and uh how she got to be at the Olympics at all and she's an industry plan people are saying
[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_00]: that her husband was like the main judge at the qualifying event and that like they create her
[00:49:14] [SPEAKER_00]: husband like created the organization in Australia that like became the the governing body
[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_01]: just under to the Olympics I don't know if this is true or not look look and here's the thing is like
[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's extremely romantic okay what if she was like baby I really want to be in the Olympics
[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_01]: and then he and then he made it happen that's beautiful yes she also I'm pretty sure
[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_00]: like has a PhD and so in um the cultural politics of like break dancing is like what her
[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_00]: dissertation is about and so then people are being like oh she big-brained it to like be bad
[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_00]: at the Olympics to like have a platform for talking about how she shouldn't be doing break
[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_01]: ginseng at the Olympics the internet is exhausting this is why I can't this is why I
[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_01]: look at my phone for 15 minutes a day and then I go outside and I look directly into the sun
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_01]: and burn my corny. No don't do that don't look at me because I can't take it anymore I can't take
[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_01]: this the internet is like you can't decide on anything it's it's terrifying it's like uh yeah
[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know whatever anyways it's fun it's fun it's fun it's fun it's so fun it's like what if
[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_00]: truth wasn't real oh my god that's crazy it's like oh it's literally like oh if this person
[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_00]: wasn't a democrat they'd be a republican and yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's fine
[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I did see a tweed though that was like Ray Gana has achieved something no one else has ever achieved
[00:50:48] [SPEAKER_00]: people are reading her PhD today is she? Hello that's a good thing it's pretty good uh
[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and then uh people Donald Trump is a bunch of fake AI photos of Taylor Swift endorsing him
[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_00]: oh yeah I thought this was about something else no thankfully not those ones okay
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_00]: thankfully not those they were like Taylor Swift like being like pro trump and then a bunch of
[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_00]: like just generic white woman insurers that say like Swifties for Trump but like again clearly all
[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_00]: like the no nobody with like an ounce of critical thinking with things that those photos were real
[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_00]: they're the ones you see like 65 year old parents sharing on Facebook that are like why don't photos
[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_00]: like this ever go viral and you're like because it's fake why are you coming for my mom like that
[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_01]: like why are you coming for my why are you coming for my like 70 year old anti that post like
[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_01]: these AI like images of her face like on like uh like other women and she just posted on Facebook
[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_00]: and it's kind of it's kind of strange listen I'm not coming for anyone specific I'm coming
[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_00]: for a generation of people posting AI photos on Facebook and like what are we going to do for
[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_00]: our parents to keep them from falling for this I just I can't wait for the day when we're like
[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_01]: 70 and how we interact with the internet is going to be like oh my god why did you just uh post
[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_01]: on TikTok or so why did you post a one-minute video like everyone knows it's like
[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_01]: point one second videos that just like get downloaded instantly to your brain that's the trend now
[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_00]: we should be so lucky to get and be doing things around the internet yeah
[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_00]: but yeah so basically he's posted these like I accept your endorsement and so now it's just kind of
[00:52:45] [SPEAKER_00]: sounding like something like it's just something to be like he posted on true social so he saw this
[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_01]: and was like this is real for sure I don't know if he thinks it's real or he just thinks like
[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_00]: he can say it's real and his supporters will believe it is I don't know but I don't even know
[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_00]: there's a story there but I mean Timmer Miss Swift is a pretty litigious woman so I wouldn't be
[00:53:15] [SPEAKER_00]: surprised of this and do that be like imagine Taylor Swift V Donald Trump in cool yeah that's
[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_01]: look I'm sad I'm ready to wash it I'm ready I'm ready for the battle that's like the most
[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_01]: click-bitty thing of all time and it's gonna work on me if it happens I mean I'm not at all
[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_01]: it would work on me for sure it sucks that I have to say that but I'm just like a sucker I don't know
[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_00]: you're an almost sucker we're all suckers is what I'm saying we're all suckers we might all be suckers it's
[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_00]: okay um try to be less of a sucker more of a walk too yeah and more of a walk tour
[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_00]: one of our messengers also submitted this little tidbit and it's all this happened in like 2011
[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's funny but President Bush's daughter Lauren Bush married Ralph Lorenz son into her
[00:54:16] [SPEAKER_00]: name is Lauren Lorenz now since 2011 I love that I love that because it's spell Lauren Lauren but yeah
[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_01]: it's just it just oh that tickles me to that I love yeah I feel like that's that's
[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_01]: that's the best I wish my name was Phil Phil no that's Phil Phil it sucks because it doesn't work
[00:54:42] [SPEAKER_01]: with every name so it's just she she's lucky then it works with her name like imagine of Jenny was
[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Jenny Janae see that's great I think that sounds good yeah that's great I love it
[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_01]: but then yours would be Carson King or it'd be Carson Kierston or Carson Kristen or
[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_01]: not that I'm sorry I think Carson Kierston works it could work yeah everyone she
[00:55:09] [SPEAKER_00]: has changed her last name to be the same as their first name yeah differently now we're getting
[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_01]: somewhere this is the this is where I want society to go put down your phones okay and change your name
[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah but that's the same as your first name the paperwork to legally change your name
[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_01]: and then make a TikTok about the experience that you had doing that let's continue I'll watch it
[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_00]: that's not I would absolutely watch the TikTok about that that's so true okay that's that's all
[00:55:42] [SPEAKER_00]: the actual mess for today besides our anonymous are you ready for an anonymous?
[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah you show yourself but also stay anonymous it's fine so this anonymous is from a messenger
[00:55:55] [SPEAKER_00]: who has submitted before and had mess on the podcast before people may recall this was a few
[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_00]: years ago that we read the mess about someone placing recording devices in their workplace to spy
[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_00]: on their co-workers and like find out if they're like cheating on their relationships and stuff and
[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_00]: they like they discovered a cheating scandal through putting recording devices in their workplace and
[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_00]: they said okay hi here's the deal I don't really watch survivor or listen to RHAP or anything
[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just a mess magnet stand and then they tell us that they were the one who submitted a story
[00:56:32] [SPEAKER_00]: about placing recording devices in the workplace which they say is something they continue to
[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_00]: this day and they did confirm that the brat of the story was cheating on his wife with
[00:56:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Heather and they got a divorce three months after our messengers discovery yeah wow
[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_01]: okay so let me let me get this straight okay this person planted
[00:56:57] [SPEAKER_01]: recording devices around like the office or something yeah to get like information on their colleagues
[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_00]: they bugged the office yeah they bugged the office and so and through bugging the office they discovered
[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_00]: one of their co-workers was cheating on their wife and she said she always wonders if that queen
[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Brad's ex-wife is doing well because Brad sure isn't he got a demotion in our company's restructuring
[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and Heather dropped him because of his decrease salary before she herself was like go do to her
[00:57:27] [SPEAKER_00]: position being redundant wow wow I happy ending with justice I guess and our messenger says that
[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_00]: they are now the person who audits everybody's expense reports so they are swimming in the company T as
[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_00]: they should be she says never let them tell you come in the initial telling of her first anonymous
[00:57:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Sasha and I were like this person is admitting to surfailing the office so like what else are they doing
[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_01]: that they wanted me too I was gonna say like are the messengers like covert like operatives in
[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_01]: like the FBI or like what like this one is I'm so like but like as a hobby though like because they
[00:58:16] [SPEAKER_01]: also just have a different day job where they're like trying to find out the drill they're working
[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_00]: more than 40 hours a week for sure because they've got a full-time job and then they are also
[00:58:29] [SPEAKER_00]: being gay this is what they say they say I'm submitting this mess to everyone know what I'm doing
[00:58:34] [SPEAKER_00]: when I'm not girl bossing or playing CIA in the workplace that's how she describes her own
[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_00]: self okay accurate as far as I can tell yes and so she says online there's a community of
[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_00]: reality competition fans who put on their own versions of games like survivor through NDIM forums
[00:58:55] [SPEAKER_00]: so like online reality games which we're all familiar with a lot of surfmanly with and so
[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_00]: this person says because I don't really watch your driver and because one of their community members
[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_00]: pissed me off in 2014 when I was in junior high for reasons I can't really remember
[00:59:11] [SPEAKER_00]: over the last decade I've been conducting research on this community and psychologically
[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_00]: torturing them by adopting various identities I'm manipulating their games to be more saying oh my god dude
[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_01]: see I have see I have I have an accusation okay what if the anonymous people are
[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_01]: pod plants okay and what if they're making this up to get on the pod I have always said publicly
[00:59:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care if it's fake or not as long as it's a good really good like I feel immersed
[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_01]: and I feel like I feel like I like interesting to me so it doesn't matter if it's fake but I'm
[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_00]: saying possible it could be a pod plant and that's okay and so our messenger says their entire
[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_00]: life she's excelled at writing fan fiction and so running more than a dozen sock puppet accounts
[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_00]: at once is a hobby that she finds fairly easy to balance she found fairly easy to balance with
[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_00]: her classes and I guess with her full-time job now she enjoys the thrill of entertaining others
[01:00:23] [SPEAKER_00]: by creating situations between her characters in the middle of a social strategy game
[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_00]: after the game concludes she gets to see all of the reactions and feedback from the game's
[01:00:32] [SPEAKER_00]: viewers people who aren't at all aware that every flashy moment they gagged over wasn't
[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: interpersonal drama but actually something crafted by a singular mastermind so wait so
[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: they're playing an org with one person and they're the rest of the cast I don't know if they're
[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_00]: a whole rest of the cast but like it seems like they've created all of these fake personas
[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and they play games together to like make the games more dramatic in their way.
[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Did this specific messenger? I have a mission for you. Should you choose to accept it okay?
[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I want you to catfish 100 dudes on Tinder just catfish 100 dudes make them make them
[01:01:20] [SPEAKER_01]: wrapped all all 100 wrapped around your finger grovelling at your feet I want to see it and I want
[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_01]: you to report back proof of this achievement I don't know how you would but you're smarter than me
[01:01:33] [SPEAKER_00]: so do it. We would we would love to hear about experiences in in catfish you even look
[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: catfishing is generally bad I think that'd be really funny for the podcast so I'm going to
[01:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: endorse this mission. Yeah it's ultimately it's bad and mean actually but for the podcast for
[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_00]: entertainment it's worth it let's go. And so the kid this is where I think that this messenger might
[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: be some sort of like mackey of vellion uh character because they say everyone in this entire community
[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_00]: are like little insects in the palm of my palm moisturized hand I'm a goddess I have to take care
[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: of my flat they would be so bored without me as would I without their stale boring faces to use
[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_01]: as my canvas. This is like this is like a an archvillin in a movie I'm a I'm a person I've actually
[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_01]: like you have inadvertently like put me in the matrix like in the vicinity of this person and
[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_01]: at any time my life could be over and I was the thing is like we know people who've played
[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and maybe I don't know if they still anyone we know still plays but we definitely have no
[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_00]: people who've played these like online games so I just wonder if any of our friends have been
