[00:53:52] 9th with her sister-in-law and her sister-in-law's husband on november 9th they're gonna attend a

[00:53:58] football game at the university where she works and they asked they invited them weeks ago okay and

[00:54:04] our messenger agreed because they didn't have anything scheduled that day right right right right

[00:54:07] now our messenger's mom is trying to guilt them into canceling these plans so that they can make it

[00:54:12] to their family's thanksgiving but our messenger doesn't think it's fair to reschedule something

[00:54:17] like this a month out and then be surprised or upset that someone can't make it to the new date

[00:54:21] because they're already busy yeah yeah yeah am i being unreasonable for not wanting to bail on our plans

[00:54:27] with my sister and brother-in-law because my family rescheduled thanksgiving on fairly short notice

[00:54:32] no i don't listen i think that if something gets rescheduled it equals hey not everyone you know that

[00:54:40] was originally gonna make it can make it that's just third reality of life i don't know i don't

[00:54:48] understand and the thing about family sometimes like bless their heart and i love my family too but this

[00:54:53] sometimes happens is like there's weird um i don't have double standards is the right word but there's

[00:55:01] different standards maybe i'll say that or different values placed on different folks where it's like if

[00:55:06] you're the person that you know always like is there right for your family and is always like um showing

[00:55:13] up for stuff and is always um has their shit together etc etc you you're gonna get a little bit more

[00:55:21] stress from your family and pressure to come to these things versus like folks maybe that are always a

[00:55:27] little bit lucy can see what i'm just like i'm sorry why does your cousin suddenly get to have an issue

[00:55:35] with the original date that was in the books for months and it gets rescheduled for him but it can't

[00:55:40] be rescheduled for you yeah then just like push it three weeks yeah like what's the difference

[00:55:48] it's exactly it's not like the priority is celebrating on thanksgiving itself so like i don't know i'm

[00:55:56] going to be moved i like just because your cousin has kids doesn't mean that he's like a more valuable

[00:56:01] part of the family than you are that's really what um was pisses me and this happens in like

[00:56:07] workplaces too right where folks sometimes will get um a lot more you know fill in the blank

[00:56:16] blank versus like folks that don't have kids and it's just like at the end of the day no one should

[00:56:20] be worked hard like harder than uh anyone else like it's just more that and i think that anyone

[00:56:26] should be able to leave early or come in late like period like there should be flexibility for

[00:56:31] everybody not just if you have kids um and obviously like people of kids should have flexibility

[00:56:37] to help take care of their kids no problem but it's like if you don't have you leave everything

[00:56:42] period but it's just if you don't have kids things can still come up in your life that you need

[00:56:47] flexibility to deal with and so it's not fair for that to be seen as less than it reminds me too like

[00:56:53] because you brought it to like a workplace thing yeah that stuff also reminds me of like if someone

[00:56:59] in your workplace smokes oh and they just get like way more breaks and longer breaks than anybody else

[00:57:05] like i used to work in an office where the receptionist was like a heavy smoker and it's like

[00:57:10] her 15 minute break would be 45 minutes twice a day plus her her hour lunch would be an hour and a

[00:57:16] half because you had to have a cigarette at the end and they'd be like why do you get to take

[00:57:22] three hours and breaks in a day and i get to take an hour and a half honestly can i take a walking

[00:57:28] break you know something same amount literally i agree completely but yeah so i i don't think you're

[00:57:38] being unreasonable but it sounds like you've got like a kind of annoying family dynamic to deal with

[00:57:43] and i'm sorry that your mom is making you feel guilty but it's like you already have a family

[00:57:48] obligation on the 9th your sister-in-law's your family yeah and it's just frustrating and i'm sorry

[00:57:55] that you have to pick like between which one like that's so irritating and not like necessary

[00:58:03] that's my boyfriend and i have decided we're never doing thanksgiving again

[00:58:07] we have gone away the last two years over the thanksgiving weekend which is earlier in canada

[00:58:12] um and uh we love it we're never we're never dealing with the politics of thanksgiving again

[00:58:19] oh my god my thing like our um is like we just have so much family that now um and this is why i can't

[00:58:29] help but giggle because my this year my thanksgiving plans are with are with at my mom's house

[00:58:40] but my dad's family my parents are divorced uh have been seven nine my dad's family is coming

[00:58:49] to my mom's house also but my dad isn't it's just like his family yeah that's fun i love that i can't

[00:59:00] wait to hear the stories that come out of that yeah it's just like very funny um because you know we all

[00:59:06] like grew up together um and this is my dad's cousin so like we travel to america with them all the time

[00:59:13] so it's just like we've all been together for so long so it just feels like all one family but

[00:59:18] if you actually think about it none of my mom's family is coming it's just my dad's side

[00:59:26] that's it's the family you choose yeah it's just very funny and then my mom was like should we invite

[00:59:32] more people and i was like what is wrong with you it's like already 15 people bro so yeah so listen

[00:59:40] talk about a messy family i love it i'm honestly literally obsessed with this i can't wait to hear

[00:59:48] about it and we did invite my dad just fyi he he has other plans he's not gonna come but it's very funny
